    I'm not exactly the most experienced lego person out there but if we think the amount of space in TF packaging is ridiculous, Lego's 10 times as bad. I opened up a Firetruck Lego today for my lil sister and I to do and there was a lot of wasted space...

    It is absurd - they make the boxes about as big as the constructed set. Of course the set in "brick form" is way way way smaller.

    It's a marketing tool to make you think you're getting something more substantial than 2 dollars worth of petrochemical product.

    Maybe it's their way of giving parents a rough idea how big the constructed set would be... and make them more willing to pay the dollars?
