Yeah, but considering it was only 5600 Yen, just feels like I'm getting ripped off on the exchange rate.

Yeah the exchange rate is frustrating...i wish it would go back to .90 aud to the 100 yen it was a year or two ago.
Something interesting i discovered with the shipping prices at hlj is that it can work out cheaper sometimes if you split your orders into a couple of shipments.
For example i had MP artfire and god bomber ready to ship. Sending together 3350 or so yen though separately artfire 1180 yen and GB 1280. Saved a third roughly on shipping. This was for the slowest SAL btw
