Which was rightfully their mistake as other Japanese sites who does gst do charge on shipping.

I updated my post in the Australian news section with this news.

At least they are not asking for us to pay the GST they didn't collect.

Yeah. And it's better than refusing to ship here.

If anything is Australia,I mostly suck it up as little can be done. I may not be happy but there is nothing you can do, other than buy elsewhere which compromises service.

The weak AUD is also making matters worse.

Has anyone else noticed shipping costs have gone up a lot with HLJ. I don't have any numbers right this second to compare but the last couple of orders I've shipped this year seemed to be higher than I was expecting which made me question this...Maybe they are recouping the GST they forgot to collect by inflating shipping prices now

Apparently Japan Post has had to increase their cost shipping due to a sudden surge in demand from the rise in popularity of online shopping.

both articles predate me noticing the increase but I guess it could still be an annual hike in prices (new year and all) like our own postal system seems to do regularly...

Thanks for pointing out the price hike Ravagecat. I had no idea they had increased the cost. Big Convoy dropped into my PW today. I had a look and it's $36 to ship him via EMS even before any tax is charged. Hopefully when my Anime Wheeljack and Siege figures get added next month to Big Convoy the total won't be too bad.

I'll have to re-evaluate where I buy my Transformers if this price hike is too much.
