I just read that Ehren Kruger, writer of such “masterpieces” as Bayformers 2,3 and 4, as well as the Ghost in the Shell remake, is also writing the live action remake of Dumbo.
All I can say is “whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!?”

I believe its because the three crows weren't politically correct anymore so they were recasting them with three seagulls. Personally I think its whitewashing at its very worst.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I think that those black cartoon crows have become associated with Jim Crow (and thus Jim Crow's laws, re: institutionalised/legalised racial segregation). So in this particular case I can understand people wanting to distance themselves from that.
