But any title/ranking (like the toy size classes - which is also a good idea) probably isn't going to prevent that behaviour in people who aren't staff, or prevent those ineligible for higher titles/rankings from feeling insignificant.

but really for those people if that is your goal for being on this forum to get to the top, get a job! (it would be better suited there) at some point you have lost the purpose, the very reason why you are here. I for one have never looked upon those with a 'higher rank' here as any authority but more someone i can look to for guidance on an issue or at lest point me in the right direction.
I think what we have lost sight of is the fact that we all here for the same reason to share a passion, a love, a hobby and for some a obsession that is TRANSFORMERS.

I have never at any point felt insignificant in this forum.

Just a suggestion - instead of numerical rankings, how about we use something like -

Minicon: Protoform (just registered)
Legends Class: Distant Spark & Probationary
Scout Class: Member (active and contributes to the forum and / or new or not very active)
Deluxe Class: Deluxe Member (by invitation when earnt - contributes News, Sightings, creative, and/or attends meets)
Voyager Class: Section Mod
Ultra Class: Global Mod (less active coverage)
Leader Class: Global Mod (more active coverage)
Supreme Class: Global Mod (Admin/owner)

This would make it more Transformer themed while still keeping the Deluxe Members on a mid-range 'ranking'.

Special Guests would remain unchanged and could slot in where ever deemed appropriate.

I am not fussed on whether we have rankings or not, but if we do I like this suggestion.

The main Member Listing page has also been changed to include more info about each of the members (Ranks 2-10) without having to look at their profile pages.
Only Ranks 2-10 are included in the listing.

It should - you probably aren't changing the setting next to it, that allows for custom admin title.

Moving the Avatar - I think I have to change the coding for that, as the order wasnt listed on the options page. It's on the list of things to do.

Messaging and homepages - I like to see who has them, just like other contact details. It might encourage more to be on instant message programs or list their websites if they have one (like facebook, myspace, other normal websites).

Changed the usertitles to see how they look with a TFs theme.

Using most of the ones 5FDP suggested, these are the current/new titles.
