May be you could do all of your future videos using interpretative dance.

I have no rhythm whatsoever. 0 from 3!

So, I’ve been videoing and cutting in iMovie. Nearly finished an intro video for a potential customising class, with the rest of the how-to behind a pay wall, as well as some kits (sold separately) for those inclined to try it for themselves. Members here will get first look and some kind of discount.

The plan is to use Facebook to host, and email for those who don’t do FB.

The initial project is the Energon shields for titan-class toys (see the creative section for more details and pics).

Hopefully some people will enjoy just watching the creative process live, even if they don’t plan to try it out themselves, or can’t.

Hopefully have something to show in the next 2 weeks.

    Not well...

Actually, I'm on annual leave from the day job at the moment, so have a bit more time up my sleeve than usual.

Also, I was less productive last year than I would have liked, so I'm making more of an effort to do things that matter (like exercising my creative muscles, actual physical exercise, spending time with my kids), rather than pushing ones and zeros around via a smartphone game or checking out the latest click-bait article. It's a process.

I’m reviewing some of the footage now... there’s some spots that need a pretty severe edit, like the several minutes it took me to mix an epoxy putty with one hand while I was changing what I was listening to through my headphones with my other hand. Another key to efficiency and productivity is multitasking - I was listening to podcasts while I’m talking on camera. It’s a minor miracle I’m making any sense at all.

I have very animated hands, too, I’m noticing. And the number of times I am sitting at the computer sweating bullets because the idiot onscreen is very nearly losing a digit to the exacto knife is concerning.

haha, that's amusing and scary all at the same time, I guess it's a good opportunity to look at how you work and make it a little safer. You could also include safety tips in your tutorials

Finally finished a rough cut of the first tutorial. No soundtrack or intro yet, it runs a hair under 2 hours, with includes several portions of time lapse video.

The rough cut is going out to a few people for checks and review, and I'll probably give it another watch too. Then finishing touches and we are good to go! Watch this space.
