Default Transformers The Last Knight Ramen Restaurant in Hong Kong

I'm not sure where to post this so please move if it should go elsewhere.

Ramen Iroha - a small Ramen restaurant here in Hong Kong (Causeway Bay) started a Transformers The Last Knight promotion today.
The chain is from Japan, so I'm not sure if the Japanese restaurants are also doing the same promotion.

The WHOLE restaurant is decked out in Bayformers inside and out from the table tops to the pictures on the walls, even the music playing is a range of the movie soundtracks.

    Bumblebee table.

Who wants to sit at the Megatron table?

Menu's chopsticks and even toothpicks are Transformer-ised!

The menu is specialised with Transformers... right down to the seaweed on your bowl of ramen!

They even have Transformers chips and Japanese fried chicken bites.

Short video I posted on Instagram of the walls of the restaurant.

On top of all this, they have souvenirs you can buy if you make a minimum spend as well as freebies for a minimum spend.

    A small towel.

The t-shirt (we got given this free).

Ramen bowls in red and black.

    The bowls are ceramic.

Cloth carry bags. Conveniently designed to perfectly carry two ramen bowls in their boxes.

Transformers lollies. Free if you post on FB and/or instagram before you pay.

This posted on the outside caused some controversy with my kids as my daughter was adamant Optimus had bits of Bumblebee on him. I'm thinking it's just the new TF5 redesign...

And for those who care about the taste of the food:
The ramen was ok. Nowhere near as good as we've had in Tokyo but not terrible. The soy ramen was too strong for me. The Hokkaido milk ramen broth tasted the best out of all the choices we had. The cheese chips smelt like stinky tofu (the Taiwanese dish) when they came out but surprisingly were quite bland. The chicken was nice.

Overall a fun one off meal for any Transformers fan... and I wasn't the only one going crazy taking photos in the store.
The promotion is only running until August sometime I think so if any of you are headed over let me know and I'll take you there as it's off the beaten track down a small side street at one end of Causeway Bay.

    That is so awesome.

If I went there I'd need to be frisk-searched for all the TFs things I'd try to sneak out.

So. Jealous. lol. Thanks for all the cool pictures so we can experience it vicariously. You always do such a great job covering things in HK
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

    ^ Agree!!!

Though as Bladestorm pointed out, you need to make a minimum spend before purchasing souvenirs. That's all before shipping cost & the fact someone needs to be in HK to do the heavy lifting ... I mean eating.

I just weighed one in box. It's almost 1.5 kg!!
Assuming it stays under 2 kg with packaging you're looking at AU$36 for shipping alone unfortunately. I don't think they'd be economically viable to ship.

The bowls weren't cheap to buy but they are very nice thick ceramic so personally worth it for me.

Just letting people know that this promotion ends August 30th, so if you are in HK, or will be visiting before that day, you really need to check this out just for the novelty value of it.
I mean, how often do you see a business or restaurant entirely coated in a Transformers theme?

Some details from their facebook page.

Where to find Ramen Iroha, at Causeway Bay, in Hong Kong...

    .

Apparently, this place changes their theme every few months, and it is done under license from each property they dress themselves up with... and considering the detail they go to, covering the place from floor to ceiling, this mustn't be cheap. It is worth it though for us fans.

The photos in the first post are way better than mine, but here are a couple that I took last week while I was over there, and some from their facebook page.

The promo image on the facebook page.

Inside the restaurant - it is really small, with just three individual tables, a communal table, and a bench around the kitchen.

Part of the menu, with each major dish featuring a Lost Knight Movie character.
Prices are very expensive, but then again, it all has to pay for the limited-time makeover of the restaurant.

The dish that I got... with a specially printed seaweed sheet as garnish.

And some appetizers, called "Deep Fried New Year Cake". I don't know for sure what it was, but it was really delicious.

The exclusive items on offer, while stocks last.
The two bowls, carry bag and small towel can be purchased at set prices, if you have a meal there.
The t-shirt is free if you spend over HK$598 on your meal (as you can see on the menu above, that would require buying at least 6 large meals).

And if you share your experience on social media, they give out free Transformers candy, produced just for their restaurant... and are very nice.

Some of the other things I took with me (which was allowed) - chopstick holders, toothpick packets, and the mini flags.

Those bowls were big and heavy. Fortunately for me, they didn't impress me enough to want to buy either of them. Because if I did, it probably would have been too big and heavy to take back with me. (my luggage limit was 30kg and mine ended up weighing in at 26kgs when I checked in my luggage on the 24th)

I was in there on the Friday 23rd, for lunch with Bladestorm and her son. We met up at about 12.30pm, had a very long lunch, and we left just before 2pm. It never got crowded during that time either, so we didn't have to worry about tying up a table and turning away customers.
