Building Transformers display dioaramas with "Mechanical Chain Base"

Has anyone here tried using the ""Mechanical Chain Base" series of displays before for displaying Transformers? I've only just heard about it, after reading someone's post on tfw2005 that the Igear Teletran set was a "rip off" of their panel system.

I'd love to use them, but I don't know how hard they are to assemble for non-modellers. Some of the panels and add on parts look pretty intricate.
HLJ has them for a very cheap price though, and they look like the interior of a ship or base (Nemesis, for example).

If they're anything like the simple Gundam display stands it should require little effort. Parts interlocking and maybe a screw or two it looks like to me
