    Default Printing accessory parts

I am trying to print G1 starscreams hands using my 3d printer. But as I have no idea how to use sketchup properly, I cant get the model to be watertight.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    PM me for the sketch

Just a quick query, what model is your printer?

have you tried using 123D, I had a poke at sketchup years ago and found it entirely unsuitable for detail part design. it's much more suited for architectural design

    It's the z605 aurora 3d printer.

It's a kit which you put together yourself.

Sketch up is supposedly used for 3d printing, and there are numerous add on apps you can get to make it better. Will get there eventually, just looking for a shortcut

I can have a look at the file if you like. it might be a couple days till I get to it, but I can have a look.

I'm interested to see how you go printing out something so small. I've just looked up the specs on this printer and it's surprisingly detailed in resolution. especially for something so cheap.

what basis have you used for the model? did you start from scratch or do you have something you started from?

    Started from scratch.

Just having problems making the model watertight. Problem seems to be the middle section. I've sent you the link via dropbox.

I'll look into it later this week. I can't access the page at work and can't view the file on my phone yet.

If you get me the 3d model, and it's not too big, I can print it

123D is good. I've used it for some Shapeways stuff.
