I'm sort of on the fence about what to do with this guy. I'd prefer to support the Takara release, but shipping is probably going to be astronomical. While I think he does look a little better, it's probably not close to $100 better.

    Video from TakaraTOMY showcasing Dinosaurer.
Now as far as size is concerned, Dinosaurer stands at 45cm in height making it the same height as G1 Scorponok. However the length of Dinosaurer's body is a whopping 65cm, making it 7cm longer than Generations Metroplex. So technically Trypticon will be bigger than Metroplex, but he simply won't be as tall because he doesn't stand fully upright.

That depth makes storage/display options... interesting.

Devastator was easy. Drop a shelf, push him to the back and wait for the wife to notice.

Thanks for the specs, I think I definitely will skip due to space in my show case.
This is however a nicer piece than fort max for me.

Heh, haven't even thought that far. If you have deep enough shelves it might be possible to display Trypticon in base mode and have other figures "populate" him.

In our house he would probably be a toy rather than a display.

I have some spare PC credit I want to get rid of and have been humming and hah-ing over Trypticon for a week.
I think he is a better toy for the kids with better gimmicks than the other Titans, but every time I see the size of him I back off. What cupboard could restrain him? What toy box could hold him?

As he bloody well should be. Although there's no reason why he can't be both. When I displayed my Transformers as a kid it wasn't primarily for aesthetic reasons but more for practical reasons - i.e. it was just easier to grab the specific Transformer that I wanted to play with if they're out on display rather than rummaging through a toy box.
