Default Toy Review - Siege Hound

    COG
    Series – War For Cybertron
    Sub-Line - Siege
    Size/class - Deluxe
    New/remould/redeco - New
    Wave - 1
    Released here – ?? 2019?
    Approximate Retail Price - $35
    Approximate Size - 13cm
    Allegiance - Autobot
    Alt-modes – Cybertronian jeep
Main Features/Gimmicks – Hardpoints for fireblasts (not included).
    Main Colours – green, black
Main Accessories – rifle, shoulder cannon

    Thoughts:
    * A very nice looking toy. Sculpt looks great, as do the paint ops and decos.
    * Love how the toy comes with both the shoulder cannon and rifle.
    * Very impressive range of articulation, including wrist swivels.
    * The alt mode to me looks 70% Earthen and 30% Cybertronian, similar to Sideswipe. I personally prefer Universe/Henkei Hound's more Earthlike vehicle mode.
    * The cannon clips in tightly, unlike Univ/Henkei Hound's which is loose.
    * Also like Sideswipe, there are gaps at the back of the vehicle where the knees are. This contrasts with the Univ/Henkei figures which have better looking tail panels; although admittedly UH Hound has chunkier feet and UH Lambor has the rear panels as kneecaps.
    * Not a big fan of the try-hard battle damage

    Overall
Same as how I feel about Sideswipe; because I already own the Henkei versions of both figures, I personally don't feel the desire to own the Siege versions. But if you don't already have the UH versions then this toy will suit you just fine. I'd definitely get this toy if I didn't already have Henkei Hound.

Don't forget that there's an MP Hound on the horizon. This is part of the reason why I'm not getting Siege Hound. I'm still perfectly happy with my Henkei and Binaltech Hounds, and I fully intend on pre-ordering MP Hound... so yeah, really don't need Siege Hound.

But Siege Hound is still a very nice toy in its own right.

True, but an MP Hound means MP prices

Plus to be honest I shy away from Earthen mode figures a lot these days, so this would fit the bill.

Fair point. A lot of recent CHUG toys are becoming like "Poor Man's MP," and I absolutely mean that as a compliment. We fans are really spoiled for choice these days (but hey, don't let that stop people from whinging about it )

Good summary. Love the dot point style reviews.

I'm actually quite taken with this but if I'm being honest with myself I'm curious as to who they will repaint it into. I might skip the Hound version.
I'm really just here for the free food and open bar.

I think that the current CHUG Roadbuster is pretty darn awesome and I don't know if this would be any better. Perhaps a custom Ironfist?

I reckon Turbomaster Scorch would be a good fit, if they wanted a left-field repaint (well, not that left-field, I think Botcon did it before).

I can see Roadbuster too, but repainting him as someone with a similar colour scheme makes less sense.

But the original Classics Hound was one of those rare figures that never got a proper repaint, for some reason, so it could happen again.

I think the colour scheme and paint in general is better than the previous CHUG Hound, I found the green too light on that one.

This is a def get for me
