Anyone manage to get the Gunbarrel? Couldn't get it for some reason and it's a web exclusive! It seems to be getting crazier and crazier getting anything from Japan these days...

Yeah, you're right. It's an exclusive but it's a little different than the original MB Strike Freedom. Some extra tampo and whatnot here or there to make it a little more "exclusive" than the original. Still going to sucker me to getting one I suspect

If one wanted to dabble their toes into the Gundam pool, what would be a good kit/range of kits to have a crack at?

The 1/144 RG RX-78-2 Gundam is a lot of fun to build. It is a snap-together kit with good articulation and detail, with stickers rather than decals. The stickers are nice and thin. Build quality is good and parts fit together quite snugly. It's only around 12 cm tall so it will be easy to find a place for it on the shelf. It's also reasonably priced from Japanese retailers, especially when the AUD is doing well against the JPY. It will cost around $50 or more from local retailers.

The RG range is the 1/144 scale, but is pretty decent.
The MG range is 1/100, < however I feel you do need to paint to enhance it.
The PG range is the so called Perfect Grade and 1/60 scale, lots of parts lots of detail.

    for toys
Robot Spirits which Bandai makes to entire line of Gundams
The Metal build range is the premium Gundam line
And the is Metal composite FIX which is mainly by designer Katoki "ver Ka"

I recommend RG for kits as they look good and comfortably priced.

Yup ordered 4 so far all for friends and myself.

I find it difficult to order this.
I have a cocky guy thinking he can get it at mandarake once release. It won’t be cheap.
