    Default Sculpting practice

Here are a few pieces I've been practicing with and trying to work up my skills. The two heads are going to be cast in wax once I have enough items to validate pouring a mould. Then I can work the details down a bit, that means that they are a little rougher than I have been aiming for as its only to get the shape.

Will add more pics as it goes on. Other projects (desks for the girls, buying a house) have been getting in the way a bit lately. hopefully ready to get stuck in in a month or two

That cab front great! Your measurements look nice and very even.

Have you been replicating existing objects/components as part of this practice? Your sense of proportion is pretty good.

No, freesculpting for the majority. The heads are based off comic images, which makes it hard because the proportions change from image to image

Thanks mate. Yeah, the begginings of Xaaron. Facial details will have to wait for wax. He's been really difficult in terms of reference as not only details but the entire construction of his head can change from panel to panel in the same book.
I have some ideas for a workable alt mode but the complete lack of kibble or detail is making that bothersome too. On the plus side there is pretty much free reign. I could of course work off IDWs version but thats cheating.

As the others have said, very nice work, most impressive, I've really looking forward to where you take this.

Thanks, the next step has to be wax. The pics probably highlight marks they look smoother in person. But at the same time the casts are coming out with finger prints

A couple more from this afternoon, plus some retouched older ones.

Might spend the day tomorrow polishing. 7 heads to cast should be enough for a mould
