The one benefit a lot of Dreamcasts have though is that they allow you to play burnt game discs without modding the console at all.
Not that I'm advocating piracy, just that if one wanted to download an DC iso image, burn it to disc and play it they could do so quite easily.
And as delta said some games are ridiculously expensive and no profits go to the developers, so it's not really piracy imo

Also beta games that never got made/released like Toe Jam & Earl, Half Life etc

And super easy to make a boot disk for imports, that's how I play my copies of Seaman & Godzilla

Hehe i played Panzer Dragoon on the Saturn so even longer. Still have my Saturn. Will have to plug it back in someday. So many great games. Shame the light guns don't work on LCD TVs. I packed up my Saturn when i got rid of my CRT TV eons ago.

I've never liked the monochromatic grey/purple design of the NA SNES. Really prefer the JP/EU design.

I do agree, the JP/EU SNES is the more aesthetically pleasing design. However I like the US one due to its uniqueness and subtle historical inside of the US video game industry as well as the slow to catch up Nintendo mentality - All which the design represents.

Plus the JP/EU design is just as monochromatic

Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow buttons, so less monochromatic.

True but we are talking about the console itself and there is purple

I should have paid closer attention to preorder dates for the Classic Mini SNES. I'd happily buy one but odds of getting in store stock are low. Sure I have my original and an emulator, but still would have been a nice get.

(Bring on another reissue that throws in DKC2 and I won't feel bad)

This article has a list of Target stores that will have stock available on Saturday http://www.vooks.net/selected-target...able-saturday/
But even if you miss those there's nothing to fear as Nintendo confirmed a few weeks back that they will be not only releasing more Snes mini's but will be re-releasing the Nes mini as well.
Suffice to say that scalpers are not pleased about this lol
