Yokuryuu = 翼竜 ("Winged Dragon")
Rairyuu　＝　雷竜 ("Thunder Dragon")

*TFwiki translates Gairyuu's name as "armoured dragon," but I can't think of any Kanji pronounced as "gai" that would mean "armour." AFAIK the Japanese word for armour is yoroi 鎧, although the word for 'shell' can be synonymous with armour I suppose (?). You've got the Chinese translation of Transformers Generations right? How have they translated Gairyuu's name?

Great stuff. The Kanji definitely helps if I read it in Chinese!

Here's what we have then:

Rost in Tlansration. Then again, I think I recall some of the Chinese names were wildly different from the Japanese names where you'd think they could do a straight translation... like isn't the Chinese name for Ginrai totally different? Because Ginrai in Kanji would be 神雷 ("God Thunder"). And the Trainbots' names should all be translatable to Chinese, especially Shouki who is actually named after a character from Chinese folklore!

On a slight tangent, I find it interesting how in 1989 we had two gestalts, both named after Caesar, but one used the Classical Latin pronunciation (Lio Kaiser) while the other used the English* pronunciation of "See-zer" (Road Caesar). (:

There's a story behind this, when it arrived the main box was attached by customs So the box was slashed open and retaped. Luckily they kept the main prize untouched



And Death Garry aka Brave Sky Garry out and ready.



Now if only they made SKy Garry's reprolabels, I'd fix him up to be a real TF
Not bad for a Brave recolour, also came with the three extra non-firing launchers for micromasters and two rubber robot decoys.

I mentioned this to Sky Shadow at the Fair today, but my wife and I managed to solve this tight joints issue with (guess what) - Zippo Lighter Fluid! It can do stickers, it can loosen joints. I'm going to christen it the miracle fluid.

What is Zippo lighter fluid made from chemically? I have had to use a lubricant on some of my Monstructors joints, in that case I used lubricant meant for keeping an electric shavers blades operational, which I think is the same as sewing machine lubricant.
