View Full Version : Wreckers vs Anti-wreckers (for lack of better names)

Thought we could have a bit of fun with an idea i've been toying with.
What is your wrecker-esk (autobot and decepticon) team?
Here are the rules:

1. You must own the toys in your list/s.
2. Must be a team of 6 bots.
3. your team must include:
- Leader (bonus points for originality)
- Scientist (someone skilful) Can be a Tech specialist.
- Fast support
- Heavy Support
- 2x infantry (general troops)
4. Leaders can NOT be a typical leader ie; prime, megatron, rodimus, galvatron, magnus, etc. Though they can be used in other roles.
5. Combiners are allowed (as 1 bot only) only as heavy support. Though you can use individual bots as pleased.
6. City bots not allowed nor is Primus or Unicron.
7. You must give reasons why you picked each member of the team, ie; a blurb kind of thing of why that have that role. (see below)
8. not a must, but what are your teams names?

Notes: Pics of your group/s are not mandatory, though bonus points for them (refer to rule 1, so should be to hard to take a pic or 10 :P)

Bonus points for an original team, obviously there will be crossovers but the more original the better :)

Figures can be from any toy line.

Including 3rd party figures.

More rules/notes will be added as feedback is received to smooth it out :)

I'll start things off with my two teams.

Autobots:

Team Name: The Steel Core

Leader: Steelcore - Steel, a mercenary from cybertron with his mighty armour, the core becomes. Steelcore. His wise leadership skills and fierce combat skills make him a worthy leader.

Infantry: Scorponok - A powerful and deceptive warrior. To skilled to do away with though.

Fast Support: Starscream - With his lightning fast speeds he is too hard to catch for any autobot, except maybe drift. Though always Challenging Hailstorms command.

Anit-wreckers (for lack of better names)
The Decepticon equivalent to the Wreckers is the Mayhem Attack Squad (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Mayhem_Attack_Squad). :)

Nice idea, though I'd divide my 6 bots a little differently. As the Wreckers are crack commandos I don't see a Scientist having a permanent role on their roster. maybe a tech specialist, a sharpshooter on the other hand is right up the Wreckers alley, though they would all be good shots really.

I'd divide my team as follows:

(Original Wreckers given as example only).

Squad leader (Impactor)
point man/reconnaissance (Whirl)
armorer/weapons specialist (Roadbuster)
shock trooper (Topspin)
demolitions (Twintwist)
infantry (Rack and Ruin)

Optional :
sharpshooter
tech specialist

Now I just need to figure out my own personal team.

OOhh nice!

Well, as for me ill post pics once my camera battery recharges
For now here's my ideas. Sans the pics for now

Decepticon Equalizer Armed Terrorist Hit Squad (D.E.A.T.H. Squad)

Leader/ Head assassin/Tactician - Banzaitron - Inspired by his former mentor/rival Bludgeon, Banzaitron developed his own deadly skills and tactical mind thru hard training ang several calculated enhancements ( somewhat mirroring Bludgeon's). His pursuit of a higher position in the heirarchy has not gone unnoticed by the decepticon liege and has rewarded him with a higher rank and troopers under his direct command for "special" missions. Now he has the troops to carry out his viciousness to an even more higher level.

Scientist/Interrogator/hacker/ weapons procurement/ enhancement officer (secondary commander) Lockdown -

an equally amoral 2nd in command , albeit his loyalty is all for a price, his knowledge and skills in vivisection, upgrading, weapons identification and information gatheringas well as other unmentionable skills has earned him his place in the specialist unit under Banzaitron... only his fear of permanent termination from his current superior officer keeps his greed and disloyalty in check. Banzaitron on the other hand keeps a close eye as well as favors him due to the free upgrades Lockdown is able to provide from readily available "resources" during and post missions ;)

Weather Warrior/ Interceptor/ Air support/ Recon - Acid storm -

Few may know, but he has a brilliant mind yet his antisocial behavior has kept him from achieving great rank among the heirarchy, he is however a very capable and deadly warrior, fast as his seeker origins and with a mostdamaging capability in weather manipulation which remains largely untapped... until now that Banzaitron has noticed... Acid storms keen sense of delivering his weather manipulation to its utmost damage earns him quite in good favor with his leader, as long as he delivers...

Heavy artillery/Heavy Support/Demolitions/ Mobile command/ Supply and Personnel Transport - Tidal Wave -

A behemoth of massive firepower, provides the group ready transport and mobile base of operations. His ability to split also adds an invaluable support in both offensive and logistics tactics which Banzaitron effectively puts to his advantage... has enough room to store vast amounts of supplies (energon et al) needed by the group in cases of prolonged conflict or extended missions. His strength and size also comes in handy in just bashing the enemy in case they sic a combiner at the group as he is more than a match. Also despite his size he is non too bright and is easily swayed to obey a superior officer, even though truth be known he can just stomp on anyone who gets in his way Banzaitron seems able to boss around easily the fearsome giant.

Infantry - Runamuck and Runabout - Shock troopers/ terrorists/interceptors/ scouts/ spies.

Just point in which direction and who you need harassed and these boys will set about it in full gear. Their bullying tactics on and off the road are what Banzaitron uses them primarily, but mostly extra hands for manual work as well as scape goats - hehehe every good decepticon leader has someone to slap around. Fast and dangerous the duo though is easily distracted, albeit easy to keep back on track ... just remind them of the pain their leader will surely inflict them if they fail and that'll get them back in line easy as.

If it weren't for the 2 shocktroopers I wouldve named it the Green Hit Squad . But, I couldn't find suitable green warriors to fit the bill - replace those two, so I'll stick with the name for name and the current line up. :D:D:D Plus I wanted to use characters not so peripheeral but at the same time not so much in the spotlight.

This is a great and fun idea. Have to put my team together soon. Waiting on a couple of members to arrive though. Would be good to make a hybrid team so we could include decepticons and autobots in one team. Are we accepting custom figures? If so to what extent, eg repaint to full on kitbash or 'from scratch'

Meet THE SLAGGERS

This is such a fun idea but so many choices! Decided to limit myself to Gen 1 cartoon Decepticons. Will put up a photo when I have time to dig through all my TF crates to find them :) Think I will have to do another one across the TF multiverse (Well done Liegeprime for thinking of Tidal Wave - wish I had!)

Leader/Military Tactician – Onslaught- A brilliant tactical mind who is able to come up with detailed and deadly battle plans. If called in to battle himself has great strength and firepower as a robot and able to launch long range attacks as a missile trailer.

Scientist/Medic – Swindle- A munitions expert who is able to procure and supply (for a price) all manner of devastating military hardware. Also has a firm grasp of Transformer physiology and able to serve as a medic for the team.

Heavy Support – Predaking- The most powerful of the G1 Gestalts: Incredible strength, firepower, razor-sharp instincts and fighting skills as well as the power of flight.

Fast Support/Surprise Attack – Skywarp- Able to fly with the speed of a fighter jet and teleport at will to any place on the battlefield. Able to appear where needed most in split seconds, providing quick back-up where needed as well as deadly surprise attacks.

2 x Shock Troopers – Blitzwing & Shockwave
- Blitzwing with both ground and aerial offensive transformations makes the perfect shock trooper. Also armed with both firepower and sword is an excellent combatant in robot mode.
- Shockwave has enough devastating firepower to take on any opponent, the physical strength to go toe-to-toe with a Prime and the logical capabilities to assess the battlefield situation he is in and use both his and Blitzwing’s skills to maximum effect.

read above post ^^^ :P

They aren't meant to be "wreckers" but a team made to stated format, just for something different. Scientist is again a general term so if you wish to have a Tech specialist that's fine as long as you follow the rules :)

Sure they do! Every time I play Fall of Cybertron I find it useful using the Scientist Class characters to... ya know... do science stuff. :p I'm by no means a flying field medic -- you'll thank us when we find the elusive cure for Gold Plastic Syndrome! :p

Meet THE SLAGGERS
Soon to be released by Hasbro in a TRU exclusive multi toy pack called "The Sluggers." ;)

(Couldn't help myself - had to do another one! This time tried to spread them out over different toy continuities)

Meet THE FRAGGERS!

Leader – The Fallen – Titanium- Incredibly powerful, brilliant and warped beyond all reason by his defection to Unicron. Able to implement subtle strategies from multiple angles over long periods to attain his goals. Also a personal powerhouse who can wage immediate war with callous disregard for the consequences.

Scientist/Dark Arts/Torturer – Bludgeon – ROTF- As a master of arcane arts as well as high intelligence, natural curiosity and a penchant for dabbling in all sciences, Bludgeon as the teams scientist can come up with some completely horrific ways of gaining information as well as creating weapons and physical upgrades that defy most bots sense of reality.
(Note: I would have liked to use G1 Bludgeon but I don’t have the toy)

Heavy Support - Gigatron – Heroes of Cybertron- Huge, powerfully strong, able to act as a field headquarters as well transforming into a giant tank and attack fighter. Enough firepower to provide a strong offense and an aggressive defence.
(Note: I know the HOS do not Transform but I own no other version of him)

Fast Support – Meantime – Real Gear Robots- Not fast support in the general sense, but the ability to turn back time in 7 minute intervals means that as long as his tiny frame is attached to a bigger bots wrist he can get any comrade anywhere they need to go before they even know they need to go there! Any battle that is not playing out in The Fallen’s favour can be rewound 7 minutes so that a new strategy can be implemented. As fast as Blurr is, even he cannot compete with someone who can manipulate time itself! Got to the battle 5 minutes late? Now you are 2 minutes early! Now THAT’S FAST! Can also act as a spy due to his minuscule size.

Shock Troopers x 2 – Sixshot from G1 and Megatron from RID- Each a 6 changer with a huge amount of firepower! Able to take on entire squads of enemies independently. Supremely adaptable from multiple Transformations, they can fight any enemy in any environment. RID Megatron as a giant hand holding Six Shot as a giant gun is enough to make a Prime wet his servos in fear!

awesome man! please take some happy snaps of your two teams!

On school holidays next week so will set aside an afternoon between the myriad of jobs the wife is giving me to set up some pics for ya :) Only prob with THE FRAGGERS is a couple are still MISB but can still set them up.

In the meantime, here is team 3, anothe Gen 1 Decepticons almalgamation. I created a team designed to completely mess with the enemies heads and sow fear wherever they go.

I simply entitled this team:
The Complete Mind****ers!

Leader – Mindwipe- His psychic powers unrivalled amongst Transformers, he is able to not only ensnare the minds of his enemies and make them do his bidding, but inflict psychic pain on his subordinates to keep them in line. Mindwipe can make almost any bot believe anything of his choosing and uses this for a myriad of evil purposes, particularly affecting the opposing commander so they lead their party into a trap.
(Note: When I do the pic will have to use HFTD Mindwipe as don’t have Gen 1)

Scientist – Bombshell- With a cruel sense of humor and callous beyond measure, Bombshell is able to implant cerebro shells in his victims, making them as much his puppets as Mindwipe’s. Bombshell’s favourite is to make an Autobot suddenly turn on their comrades and start executing them for no apparent reason, sowing discord and confusion amongst their ranks.

Heavy Support – Monstructor- A palpable dread enters the air whenever Monstructor enters the battlefield. A grotesque multi-limbed amalgamation of six robotic monsters, he looks like some gigantic nightmare has crawled out of the pit. Visible light drains away, leaving the enemy in darkness for Monstructor to stalk through. His very touch drains the life energies of those that come near, leaving them sparkless husks.

Fast Support – Dirge- Dirge is able to send out subsonic vibrations that illicit a feeling of unease and foreboding in his enemies. In jet mode this is increased and when strafing over an enemy unit can send squads into complete terror before he has even fired a shot.

2 x Shock Troopers – Scrapper with Frenzy and Skullcruncher
- Scrapper with Frenzy – With great strength as a construction vehicle, Scrapper enjoys incorporating fallen foes into his constructions. Nothing demoralizes the enemy than to turn around mid-fight to find a quickly constructed defensive bunker built out of the mangled corpses of their former comrades. He carries within the cassette player of his vehicle mode Frenzy, who to provide Scrapper with his pieces of art and keep the enemy distracted, is able to send out sonic waves that cause horrific delusions and nightmares for his enemies. A trick they like to play is for Scrapper to build his wall of death, and then Frenzy make the Autobots see their comrades moaning and writhing within it.
- Skullcruncher - This disturbed bot performs one of the most gruesome acts that a Transformer can perform, he literally eats his enemies alive! For a race that does not need to consume anything living such as vegetation or creatures to survive, the sight of the canablistic murderer devouring autobots as they scream for mercy on the battlefield causes revulsion and terror wherever he goes.

Btw, would this thread be better placed in the Creative section?
Also, how about including a "mixed" team of good and evil factions in the same team? Similar to the Survivors in G1. :)

No pics, sorry, my collection is spread out across two countries. Anyone wanting to post pics on my behalf is welcome to do so.

Autobot team - the Elite Guard
Everyone agrees that staying and guarding the base is an important job that requires a very special team of Autobots, but what happens when a 'bot wants to just chill at home and enjoy some peace and quiet? When 'bots like Optimus Prime can handle guarding the base themselves, it's time to call on...The Elite Guard! From acquiring much-needed supplies of camouflage paint to retrieving pots of gold at the ends of rainbows, no seemingly mundane task is too difficult for the Elite Guard.
Leader: Sentinel Prime (Animated)
As a trusted officer with extensive training experience, only Sentinel Prime could possibly be relied upon to turn this elite squad of up-and-coming young 'bots into the Autobot Heroes they are undoubtedly destined to be.
Coincidentally, his new nickname of "Babysitter Prime" is cruel, misleading, and obviously motivated entirely by jealousy.
Specialist (Survivalist): Wheelie (repurposed RotF Slap Dash)
An expert survivalist who demonstrates fearlessness, strong initiative, and a charming poetic streak, Wheelie brings both practical and literary skills to the team. Though his new body may appear intimidating, inside his revamped chassis his noble spark and keen tactical mind are the same as always.
Speedy warrior: Bumblebee (Animated)
Has the fastest mouth and wheels in the Autobot army (well, except for Blurr) - a vital asset to such an important team.
Heavy Warrior: Bulkhead (Animated, Leader-class)
Despite his great size and lack of grace, Bulkhead's gentle spark and selfless bravery is a credit to the Autobot ranks.
Grunts: Skids & Mudflap (RotF)
Sure, they might not be able to read, and they may seem a little, well, stupid, but these brave twins are tough and devoted to the Autobot cause. Ice-cream truck alt-mode comes in handy for the various human children that somehow always seem to end up tagging along with the group.

Decepticon Team - The Rolling Thunder
A fearsome squad of melee warriors with ground-based alt-modes. Also the first Cybertronian death metal band.
Leader: Nemesis Prime (RiD Scourge)
The fearsome dark clone of Optimus Prime, made using a modified version of the cloning machine from 'A Prime Problem'. Unfortunately, Tankor Octane was assigned to get the holoscan and had his thumb over part of the lens when he recorded the image, leading to a less-than-exact physical copy alt-mode- and shoulders-wise. Tanker trailer battle-platform mode gives the team added firepower and makes for awesome pyrotechnics during performances - this is one band that really does bring down the house!
Vocals.
Specialist (Chemist, Ninja, Vehicular Combat Specialist): Oil Slick (Animated)
A speedy ninja warrior with a knack for vehicle mode combat and a love of chemical warfare. Enjoys picking on Knock Out. Something of a loner.
Lead guitar.
Speed Warrior: Knock Out (Prime)
Smooth, suave, pretentious, and vain - very much the odd-'bot-out. More or less the team medic. As a lover of 'high culture' he prefers Classical music to Metal, but the others took his suggestions of a new musical direction...poorly. Utterly terrified of Oil Slick, friends with Breakdown, possible attraction to Nemesis Prime.
Plays keyboards, though trained on Cybertron as a classical pianist.
Heavy Warrior: Breakdown (Prime)
Big, strong, and likes hitting things - perfect for the team bruiser. Knock Out's only real friend in the team. Sometimes wishes he had an eyepatch or something so he could 'look cooler'.
Drummer.
Warrior: Bludgeon (RotF)
Enigmatic dark samurai. Expert in Metallikato and bladed combat.
Bassist.
Warrior: Skullgrin (Generations)
Calm and collected exterior masks his often barely-suppressed inner rage.
Rhythm guitar.

This is a slightly-modified-to-fit-the-rules team from some of my fanfic.

Leader: (G1) SCATTERSHOT
Pure fighter. Packs plenty of muscle and plenty of firepower. Crazy enough to take on the crazy missions.
Specialist: (Generations) WHEELJACK
Fighter. Engineer. Capable of whipping up some Dinobots should the need arise.
Fast Support: (HFTD) TOMAHAWK
Gunship helo air support. Pretty handy on the ground too.
Heavy Support: (G1) QUICKSWITCH
Multi-modes for multi-roles (Sea, Air, Land, Space)
Trooper #1: (Movie) LONGARM
Sniper and ground assult
Trooper #2: (G1) SANDSTORM
Recon/scout/spotter

Need to come up with a Decepticon one...

The Leader: Sam Witwicky
Well, if not our leader, he appears to be our lead. He screams a lot, which may be confused with giving orders. On various occasions, he is seen to be unpopular at school, a stuff up at college, unable to relate to women, and can't get a job. We're all doomed.

Specialist/Tech Support: Mikaela Banes
Also our resident hottie, Mikaela is adept at fixing cars and motorcycles and stuff, all while sticking her rear end out at improbable angles. Apparently emits some kind of Transformer-affecting pheromones, based on the amorous behaviour of smaller 'bots in her presence.

Heavy Support: Captain William Lennox
A capable and determined military man, Cpt Lennox has the might of the US military at his beck and call. He is also responsible for such tactics as taking the object the enemy is seeking and hiding it in a city. Yep, when giant killer alien robots are after something you've got, clearly the best course of action is to take said McGuffin into a densely populated area. Freakin' GENIUS.

Agent Simmons is designated as fast support due to his ability to rapidly summon numerous shady agent type characters to take down smaller Autobots who aren't fighting back. He also works in a deli, so free cabana for everyone.

The thread is not letting me post my images. Oh well, here's my new team: IACON KNIGHTS!

Leader = Drift (Generations)

After a personal vouch from Rodimus to Optimus Prime, Drift has been given his own command. Still driven by his former life as the Decepticon Deadlock & close calls with the afterlife, Drift wishes to find something more substantial than circuits & servos out there while at the same time protecting what he has come to value in life. With the trust he has been given by the Autobot high command, Drift hopes to lead his new team on a spiritual journey while protecting the values he has learned with his Great Sword.

Heavy Support = Springer (Botcon & Generations)

Former leader of the Wreckers, Springer has been chosen by Drift to be his second in command. Trustworthy, dependable & loaded up to his optics with arsenal, Springer can always be counted on to back his team up. He also wishes to test out his new body which now not only allows him change alt modes even faster than before, he can now morph his body to better suit his alt mode. Perceptor believes that this new ability may lead to the next stage in evolution for the transformer race. Whatever the reason, Springer takes it all in his stride.

Fast Support = Prowl (Animated)

Sacrificing his spark to save Optimus & Detroit has lead to an unusual situation for Prowl. Now in another dimension where things are a bit odd & out of place, Prowl has nevertheless been able to find a niche in his new life. He and Drift became fast friends and was more than happy to join him on his team. His speed and reflexes in combat training have clocked new records and will be invaluable to whatever he & his group face.

Survivalist = Wheelie (Generations)

Things have come full circle for the once lonely & isolated Wheelie. Chosen by Drift for his ability to adapt, think on his leg struts & loyalty to his teammates, Drift knows he can count on Wheelie when things get sticky. Wheelie has even been given a bigger & more powerful form to help his new team & make him feel as an equal. Ever cheerful & grateful, Wheelie wants nothing more than to repay the faith & trust that has been given to him.

Brawler (infantry) = Kick Off (Botcon)

Vorns as a POW & being forced to kill his fellow Autobots to survive made Kick Off not wanting to get close to anyone when he finally broke out. Rage & guilt fuel his spark over what happened. On Rung’s recommendation he has been placed in this new team. Not only for his abilities in all forms of physical combat & his knowledge on security systems & tactics, but to help him find inner peace. Rung believes Drift’s & Prowl’s search for something more out in the universe may help Kick Off some closure. A tiny bit of Kick Off hopes for the same.

Interceptor (infantry) = Streetwise (Botcon)

Streewise’s decision to join Drift’s team surprised a few. Streetwise himself was taken aback with Drift’s request, wanting to stay on Earth help bring back the rest of his fallen comrades. But Drift knew that he didn’t have to limit is search just to Earth. There is a whole universe out there waiting to be explored. Streetwise’s abilities to blend into new cultures & remember places of importance will prove invaluable to them on this mission. And if it helps to bring the rest of the Protectobots, so much the better. Streetwise need little convincing after that.

Streetwise need little convincing after that.

awesome team!

Thanks, saw this thread this morning and it really got me thinking. Now coming up with the Decepticon version. A tad tricky but I'll work it out.:D
