This came up on a google search for the recent Transformers plushies - a Northern NSW healthcare organisation having an annual conference that they call Transformers, with this year's being Transformers 4 (https://www.thecentrehki.com.au/events/transformers-2019/) (their fourth annual conference - and Transformers 3 was last year's (https://www.thecentrehki.com.au/transformers-2018/)).
Looking over their websites, there is no reference of the name in Transformers font or altered Autobot symbol, being authorised or licensed by Hasbro... and they aren't listed on their partner pages.

One of the coolest ads ever with famous cars such as The Batmobile and Ecto-1 has been made by Walmart. One of the cars is Bumblebee from the new movie.

That's a ripper of an ad.

Listening to a podcast from a few weeks ago and they were talking about all the changes that had been proposed for the 2019 Oscars and of those which had been kept and which had been scrapped.

The speaker talked about how the category 'Most Popular Movie' had been proposed and then quickly scrapped, saying "People didn't like it. Would it have meant that an Oscar went to, say, a Transformers movie".

So on the one hand he was saying Transformer movies were extremely popular, on the other hand inferred they were undeserving of an Oscar. Up to the individual whether they agree or disagree I guess.

Transformers references in both episodes of 'The Good Place' this week.

The first episode they were going to escape from the fake Bad Place to the real Good Place in a magical vehicle and one guy says 'I hope it's Optimus Prime. If it is I call left nipple! That's like calling shotgun when your in Optimus Prime'.

In the second episode the head of The Bad Place is talking to a subordinate and is spraying on deodorant. He throws it to his subordinate and says 'It's called Transformers, here try it. The smell replicates the feeling you get watching a Transformers movie'.

There's been several more TF references in later episodes too but no spoilers from me for those watching on free-to-air.

One of the episodes of Big Bang last night (I think the TV guide said that it was the season 11 first episode), Sheldon tells Amy (something like), him being at an event and not being the center of attention is like having Optimus Prime at your place and not being asked to transform into a truck.
I was channel surfing, so I wasn't really paying attention to it, so it caught me by surprise.

Heh, that's neat... although damn those mistransformed arms!

G1 Galvatron appeared in an episode of Doctor Who (I think it was storyboarded by Andrew Wildman too) and the toy was mistransformed, but it was being handled by Clara Oswald who was just fidgeting with it on the kitchen bench rather than properly playing with it.

The scene in question happens in the first episode. Which is set in 1985... a small oops that probably only matters to TF fans.

Ive seen some people say that it appears that UM is remote controlled, but my read of the scene was that the toy was placed on a remote controlled vehicle or something.

The classic movie that started all of these "Transformers sightings in other media" back in the early years of the online fandom in the 90s, is on tonight... Leon the Professional (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%A9on:_The_Professional), is on channel 32 at 9.15pm.
This is the movie that has a hitman reluctantly take in a 12 year old girl, who loves watching Transformers cartoons.

I was watching American Dad tonight (Cops and Rogers, s6 ep14) and they used The Touch for a montage scene. Its an old episode but didnt come up with a search.

And I recently saw the stage musical version of Mean Girls. Those that know that movie might remember the Plastics performing in sexy Santa costumes at a talent show. Well thats in the musical too but is preceeded by two other talent show acts, one of which is two guys wearing transforming (movie) Optimus Prime and Bumblebee costumes.

Might be the closest Transformers gets to the Broadway stage. Presumably the Paramount connection of the films lets them do this. (Unless you count walking to Times Square and get a photo with one of the few street performers in unofficial Optimus and Bumblebee costumes).

Starscream Spotted in Topgun!

I noticed this for the first time last weekend when I was giving my oldest (13) son his monthly dose of:"Dad's 80's Nostalgia"

I can honestly say I've seen this movie at least a half dozen times since it was released but had never noticed before that Goose gives his kid a Starscream toy when he meets up with his Missus (Meg Ryan) at the airport. You also see Starscream in a later scene sitting on top of the Piano when they are singing Great Balls Of Fire!

I am more inclined to think it was used as prop because it turns into a Jet (albeit aF15 not F14 like they are flying in the movie though) and not because its a transformer. The Prop Master probably said, "hey get me a toy jet for the father meets son/wife scene" and because Topgun was released in 1986 right in the middle of the Transformers hype Starscream would of been readily available on toy shelves!

The current season of Hells Kitchen showing on TV at the moment (probably channel 74) is season 11 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell%27s_Kitchen_(American_season_11)), which has in the opening credits, "kitchen-bots" attacking the contestants, with a background that looks a little Cybertron-ish.
This season was done in 2013, so a little bit of time after the 2009 Transformers Movie which gave us Kitchen-bots... but the intro could have been inspired by the Transformers movie.

Looks like Bumblebee will make a cameo in the TMNT 2 Movie.... sort of. As a costume at a costume party (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/bumblebee-will-cameo-in-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2-182950/).

This 2016 Movie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles:_Out_of_the_Shadows) was on last night, and the "Bumblebee" shows up as someone in a Halloween street parade, but it started out as a humvee type vehicle, transforming into the human wearing a Movie Bumblebee mask and costume, complete with the original transforming sound. Having the sound impressed me most, but I can understand why they couldn't have the costume transform into a camaro, as it would be promoting a movie franchise of a rival movie company.
Michael Bay was a producer, but I wonder if he was the one who had it included, or if the Director did it as a nod to his employer (Bay's company).

It wasn't a scene with Megan Fox's character though, which would have looked a little weird.

One of the episodes of Lego Masters this week (first or second episode) showed us one of the contestants' toy room... full of 80s action figures, including Transformers.
It was a very nice room, with all four walls full of toys, and a sofa in the middle to just sit there and enjoy the view (probably a TV there too, but the toys would be too distracting).

Tonight's episode of Hard Quiz has a contestant who is a fan of Mazda cars, and he showed photos of the different Mazda cars he's owned, including a white one that was painted with red/blue stripes and had Martini logos... similar to Gen1 Jazz, but not exactly like that toy's deco though (wrong sort of car too, but would look fairly similar though).

Just noting that the movie Ted 2 is on tv tonight on 9Go at 9.30pm.
This one features Hasbro in the plot and parts were filmed at the NYCC in 2014 so you'll see the actual Transformers display at the Hasbro exhibit.
It's interesting to have Mark Wahlberg in this film dealing with the Hasbro company, in between staring in his two Transformers movies.

I don't know if anyone enjoys The Weekly Planet podcast like I do, but they've done a lot of Transformers content recently. Caravan of Garbage is a show they do where they watch a movie (or read a comic book or play a game) every week and then talk about it for 15 - 20 minutes.

They're both childhood G1 fans, so there's a good deal of fan humour in there (it's not just LOL MOVIE IS BADD)

In the first season of the Australian tv show "Wanted", in one of the scenes in the background is a collection of Transformers, including Combiner Wars, Energon, Year of the Snake and Generations as well as several others.

On a side note, this is actually from my collection, my brother was part of the set design and asked to use my figures. Though I was only allowed to use Hasbro figures, no Takara Tomy or 3P. I gave roughly 100 figures of different series to let them use, and apparently people on the set wanted to buy them. :)

That is the show Griffin, sadly I haven't seen it so I can't say, but I know that it's season 1. I was rather surprised to see it wasn't posted in this thread yet.

High Q, it's about getting permission from companies to use certain products. A few companies had said no to including there products, but when the production asked Hasbro, they agreed. So I let them hire my Hasbro figures, and I do mean hire, I was compensated for them using them.

From what I've heard, the show is pretty decent and I still find it funny that people wanted to buy my figures when my brother brought them in. From what I was told, they wanted to create a "Nerds" bedroom for that scene.

In the fifth season episode "Cartoon Feud" of Teen Titans Go!, the Titans and the Scooby Gang were kidnapped by villain Control Freak to compete in the game Family Feud. The losing team was supposed to have their TV series cancelled. In the course of the game, Frank Welker and Megatron were mentioned.

This was probably mentioned back in 2017, but I only just saw the new Power Rangers Movie last night on TV... a yellow/black Camaro is crushed while the Zords are fighting Goldar, and the red ranger says, "Sorry Bumblebee".
It was probably the main highlight for me in that disappointing movie.

On TV tonight, they had the 1986 movie, Flight of the Navigator, which had a scene where the boy was brought to his room at NASA and it was filled with toys, including a Transformers toy in its mint box (I think it was Skywarp). It is funny how those sorts of things, even just for a fraction of a second, stand out like a bright flashing light to a long time fan.

IIRC the original AC was heavily outsourced to get it out on time so some of the art might not have been historically accurate.

Ubi set up their massive internal support infrastructure because of having to outsource one too many games.

The governor of California held a press-conference yesterday outside Universal Studios in Los Angeles, to announce that the state was now dropping most of its covid restrictions... and some of the Universal Studios characters there to support him included Bumblebee and Optimus Prime... and "Optimus" even spoke to the Governor at the start of the announcements.
I saw it on The Late Show last night, but there are some copies on youtube, like this one but it has some annoying ads at the start (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYVAA0hTWiM).

Another sorta related thing...

Today on TV I saw the start of the 1972 version of Treasure Island (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_Island_(1972_live-action_film)), which had Orson Welles as Long John Silver, and Lionel Stander as the Billy Bones (at the start of the movie).
Obsessed fans of the 1986 Transformers movie will recognise those two actors as the voices of Unicron and Kup (respectively), and the character of Billy Bones was a constant story teller, who quite often sounded like Kup (another story teller).
It was really surreal when Lionel's character first shows up and starts talking, and I could close my eyes and see Kup talking.

Confused wha? - Smooth Criminal (but not the MJ one???)
Raised eyebrow - Barbie Girl
Self-chuckle - Holdin out for a hero
Nostalgia - Slice of Heaven (footrot flats baybyyyyy)
Agreeing nod - 19-2000
There's a song called that confusion - My Boobs are OK
Vocal chuckle - Instruments of Destruction
The Gurge - The regurgitator song thats there.
Ah, there it is - the Touch
My Karaoke Song - The Love Shack
I had the CD single of that! - White town.

Consider me slightly amused.

Since this is not licensed by Hasbro, but rather by Western Star I think it belongs here.

SCS, the makers of European Truck Sim 2 and American Truck Sim has just released the Western Star 5700XE.

Why does this matter for Transformers? Because in 4th and 5th Bay movies Optimus was a Western Star 5700XE. On top of the regular paint jobs and accessories for the 5700XE, Western Star has licensed the Optimus Prime upgrades for the 5700XE. So you can drive an officially licensed Optimus Prime in American Truck Sim.

Western Power hopes it’s got the touch with improvements to 70 distribution transformers in the South West Interconnected System, including 43 in the Perth and Peel region.

Distribution transformers convert the high voltage used in power lines to a lower voltage that is suitable for residential use and are a vital part of the electricity grid, helping to light households’ darkest hour.
