you have to ask them.... as the closing date just about to cut off for orders... and usually the retailer here doesn't really know about metal build so they just order in one or two as it cost too much for them to get stuck with.... they more worried about hg kit and them bloody card games!!!! :p

Hi Guys...I have been a long time lover of Transformers, but have become slightly disillusioned with the recent stuff that has been coming out. So I have decided to try my hand and some Gundum and Zoids models...I picked up a HMM Liger Zero back in January and enjoyed putting it together so much so when I went to Tokyo Underground here in Perth I picked up a HMM Geno Saurer and decided with the last of my cash to pick up a RG Destiny Gundum just to see what the fuss is all about. Ive enjoyed the anime for a long time so it may just be a natural progression

So I'm just about to start on this bad boy....any tips would be helpful :p:p

nice choice Tabias Prime .... destiny looks amazing.... The RG are very detail kits so just take your time and enjoy it , and with all the bandai kits they fit snap together perfectly.... Also put on the decals, it will improve the kit a lot ...but i know it so tiny!! :P
Best advice is to buy quality nippers .... it will cut the plastic like butter and get very close to the edge , making it heaps easier .

Thanks for the heads up....I did pick up a good pair of nippers when I did my Liger Zero. It helps alot. Im realizing just how detailed these are as Im onto the legs:eek::eek::eek:...When I bought it the lady did say I picked up one of the better sets to buy. I will be doing a wash over it to bring the details and doing the decals. Its a nice holiday project.

The new gundam series has just been announced ...
I think it just to simple cartoony like pokemon style for my taste ...
The teasers photo look good , and on certain angle but when you seen it properly looks out of proportion .... and just look at the feet :eek: ...
from the trailer it looks like another OO storyline again:rolleyes:.... i think the OO storyline did it best....wasn't impressed with the unicorn story ...
well hopfully this turn out good.... i still have to watch Reconguista ...

Hah yeah I'm rewatching Gundam SEED (and Destiny when I finish), asked my wife to watch with me because she likes the justice and strike I've built and I said "as long as you dont mind the main pilot crying all the time", due to our different work schedules she decided to pass for the time being so I started 00 instwad. I watched enough to gain an interest in exia and seven sword, but went back to SEED and yeah, laughed the first time kira broke down when Lacus is first on Archangel. Also I guess last time I watched it was an older version, it never showed theflashes of Kira and Flay getting it om, and maybe I just forgot how manipulative and dark she got.

As for kiddy/pokemon, not sure I could go for the aesthetic, the kids seemed a bit too young for plausability, and the hair styles... the suits were ok I guess but I hadnt seen reviews til later to say it was pretty crap series anyway. Then again, I say I dont like the kiddy-ness, but I started to get into build fighters (before my wife introduced me to one piece and i watched 690 episodes in 5 months...), I'm going on a cruise soon and have SD cards loaded with seed, destiny, 00 s1/2, build fighters/try, so lots to watch in the mornings (early riser, but my wife's whole family arent). I hadnt even heard of reconguista until I saw a crossbones kit 2 weeks ago, but I'd like to watch some older stuff like zz or X... any recommendations?

Gunpla-wise, I finished strike freedom, the gold frame really needs a wash over it but i've never done or even attempted that. I havent put decals on it or justice yet, I'll do the justice this weekend, but after panel lining my 2nd kit (the freedom), I think I'm going to have to redo the justice before I decal it, seems a bit sub par, and I might try the black on pink rather than grey. After those I have the fenice rinascita ready to go, I like the Wing suit, but decided to get the fenice over the ver ka just to mix the colours up (green and cream rather than white and blue). I have Zeta 3B and Strike Rouge Ootori on the way, and my wife (after seeing seven sword in 00, the seven sword kit in a shop, and then saw the picture of the red bandai premium version with LEDs) she went and ordered it using my NY account and her card so I got the order in my email and was like wtf? She's quite taken with the MG kits, she saw the justice and immediately said it's heaps better than 'that' (CW menasor), and after seeinf the freedom built and playing with my newly opened CW protectobots she told me to forget the transformers and buy more gundam. I even went to hlj and showed her pics of every kit I would like at the moment (buster, duel, blitz, rezel commander, nu ver ka, sword impulse, destiny, astray blue d, zeta ver 2.0, double x, exia ignition mode OR the 1/100 exia avalanche, whatever that is, i've only seen pics) and the price and she said yeah that's cool...

My first Gundam finished but not my first high end model. I love model making so I thought I'd give a Gundam a go...at $36 for a kit I was impressed with the quality and considering your paying nearly $30 now for your average Transformers, I think I know where I'll be spending my money....

Hes been weathered and stickered...Yep I know I didnt put all the stickers on, I kind of got lazy towards the end and when theres close to 100, I thought I'd just improvise and use what I liked and considering I have weathered him I didn't want to take away from that to much...enjoy

Also need to find a stand for him...any suggestions?

Tabias Prime you might want to try a MG size kit next if the RG abit to small ..... i found MG to be a prefect size...1/100
and for a stand you should look at the bandai action bases or if you're into build fighter ...get the build custom GP base.... that looks cool
so the RG doesn't include the stands?well all the MG does...

Ok I amy have jumped in a bit over my head on the weekend but I wanted to ask a few questions about paint/painting from some of you experienced guys. Few things first, I like the look of the kits straight from the bow, dont mind the plastic, bit iffy about stickers, am ok with dry transfer, but not really a fan of the other decals. For example (not bashing just saying) that you can see the edges around them on Tabias' model. Also in the anime you dont see so many small details, I prefer the look of just panel lines and a few things here and there.

That said, I'd prefer to cover up the nub marks, I am getting better at trimming them off, as can be seen from the difference in the 2 halves of strike freedom's backpack. So I impulse bought the airbrush + compressor thing from Aldi when I saw people grabbing them left right and center and almost selling out within 5 mins at local aldi. So I spent some time on mech9 working out colours and stuff and decided that I might hand paint a HG Tryon 3 and after checking online, went to a store and found they'd actually sold out of them, and half the paints i was thinking of getting (white, some blues and reds) in aqueous colour. So with one stockist having not much stock and being 40 mins away, and the next nearest stockist like an hour away, I'll get down to the questions:

- would you recommend ordering aqueous color online, or is there a strong case against using tamiya instead (i live 2 mins from a mr toys, work 2 mins from another, and pass by hobbyrama 2-4 times a week so its easy to just grab a couple at a time).

- the aqueous color are mostly gloss, as are the tamiya x, does a flat top coat dull it down much? Again looking at Tabias' pics, it looks great and i'm jealous, but not the aesthetic i'm going for.

- has anyone painted a kit with flat coloyrs (ie tamiya xf?) ?

- any advice about how a kit would look with just the stickered areas hand painted ? This question comes from seeing the unpainted, unstickered gray zeta.

- the flat top coat i have says dont use on decals/stickers, but every website i've read says sticker it up and top coat it. Any chance it could seep under the edge of the stickers? Or conversely, fortify them a bit?

Ah I am so with you on this, I have gave bandai Japan feedback before and f them for giving stickers and not water slides. Why? Because they do sell seperated water decals for some mg kits and sadly a lot of these are appeared as sold out or discontinued in hlj or other model stores.

I justified why can't mg have all water slides as after all they are of a higher recommended age. Also I wouldn't mind paying that $8 more rather than I cant find that decal. The builders competition around the world is also against the rules of using third party decals so I questioned, where the f are the originals then?

I am most annoyed that they also use stickers for pg as ONLY the full armour unicorn set had water slides which it wasn't a regular release.

I found that sticker is ok...you must have to re-cut them smaller and the surface has to be gloss smooth so the you can rub it on hard so that it contact properly and doesn't show any "whiting" where the clear parts are....
My wings one i put on stickers and you can't really tell from water decals.... but that mostly on straight surfaces..... if it too thick you can sand it down on the edges ..like the water slide with 2000 grit sand ....the guys at the gundam club has 4000 - 6000 grit paper as well!! it alot of work but that what you must do to make it look good...

you got to know your paints..... basicly they come in 3 types...
lacquer .... solvent based and is pretty much very strong ( will eat plastic of certain types and also melt acrylic paint !!) ...usually for base coat.... cuase nothing can wash it away except for paint thinner/airbrush cleaner......

enamel ....solvent based as well but weak...can be thinned with turps ... can be reactivated with solvents...but you should use their branded thinners... and it slight different with each company

acrylic ... water based....washes out with water...when dries it harden

So i recommend to use Enamel with your airbrush .... is will be heaps easier to clean...it just flush out with airbrush cleaner....

acrylic paint ...it easy to flush it out with water but when it dries it harden and clog up the airbrush so you have to fully disassemble it and scrape it off to clean it out which is a pain...

With flat vs gloss paint.... you going to have to top coat a clear over anyways as you going to protect the paint.... so it doesn't really matter that much of which one you get ...cuase the top coat will be your main appearance...clear gloss..or satin..or matt ... i go for gloss as a base colour first cuase if your planning to detail it like putting on waterslide,panel lines you need a gloss surface because it smooth ...

with water slide you should use the Micro sol and micro set ..they make it better to stick to the surfaces .... then top coat over it

Tip for airbrush cleaner...you should go into bunnings and get the Digger all purpose thinner .... heaps cheaper than the hobby shop that they sell for cleaning your airbrush....

Well have fun.... if you have any question just ask....
i found that when you start airbrushing you never go back to paint brushes...

also you have to clean your surface first!!! very important or the paint just flaked off!! .... to get rid of that glossy film on top from molding ...i use a mix on 25/75 thinner and alcohol and just put it on a cloth and rub it on the surface... then prime it before painting !!

I was actually having one reserved at BBTS. It comes to a price of under $320 delievered for me.

HLJ brings it under $280 shipped. I did state ONLY if its cheap. I am still disappointed it is over 20,000.

I actually really like Nils' first gunpla, the hyakushiki that's half red half gold). Been tempted to grab the 1/100 non MG kits of the gold/black frame and the green frame. Kinda wish there was a zaku amazing or kampfer amazing too, liked them much more than the exia dark matter (i like it in the show but not kit form).

As for me, I've finished Fenice Rinascita, just finished the chest and head of Duel Assault Shroud. Zeta Buster has arrived, but strike rouge will be first, and i'm keen to pick up 2 packs of LEDs for the premium seven sword. I ended up getting a refund from Aldi for the air brush/compressor. I'm kinda happy with the kits as they are for the time being. Maybe when my wishlist is depleted (its grown since i watched BF, hesitant to watch Try :-P) I could go back and disassemble some and give it a go, may even leave zeta buster for a while and try hand painting something a RE/100 or a HG (maybe one of the aforementioned Yuuki gunpla from BF).

it actually needs 4, 2 for the drives, one for big ass weapon, one in chest (also lights up head i believe). But one set has 2 LED. Also Yes I have a backlog of 6 MGs, and I backordered a 1/100 Legend for my nephew and decided to grab one for myself, then grabbed a green zaku warrior blaze + gunner off amazon since it's discontinued and after watchingg the first 7 episodes of seed destiny again I just wanted one :-P should have duel knocked over this weekend and on to astray frame D.

Edit- yeah I'm new, going a bit overboard, but I'm a collector so just having so many boxes there waiting feels good and is inspiration to keep at it! When all's said and done the are probably 25 MG kits (and 5-6 1/100 and 1 RE/100) I would love to have. Obviously that's a bit extreme, but I can dream :-P like I said I wish i'd started years ago.

I picked up the HG build fighters version of this the other week. its not the same quality after you build a RG, the quality is so different...now I really want RG version, guess I'll wait for him at my local supplier.

Those astrays look great, makes me wanna knock a kit over a day so I can buy more. I've only just found out there was a bandai premium red astray with the shield and beam rifle. I'm not a fan of the custom one with the big sword/crossbow/backpack, and prefer the look of the shield and rifle like the 'grunt' suit from gundam seed look (i'd probably ditch the swords if i was to get it, which I most likely will). I like quite a few grunt suits, have ordered 2 zaku (1/100 not mg), and will be preordering the PB jesta cannon soon (staying away from non premium kits til backlog is empty).

Has anyone dealt with gkgundamkit.com before? It's online only HK based shop, I was looking for a special kit from the docks event, and they're expensive on ebay but the same price (Or near) on their site as it is to pick one up at the event. However when I placed the order and paid... The order was cancelled, i havent been charged that I know of, and emailing them for an explanation has yielded no reply at all. (Before you ask, no i didnt pay with paypal, i'd had a few drinks and just paid by card). After googleing a review I see people complaining about being charged twice, bad communication, not being sent etc :-(

Edit: i like the normal jesta but it just seems too dark for my liking, needed a bit of something to break it up, and the extra armour pieces on the premium one do just that, and the 2 over the shoulder weapons are just icing for me :)

The majority of the countries have celebrated Father's Day in June and I am thinking that is a agreed consencus.
We however have double Queen's birthdays for different States. This is what a WTF to be honest, how old does she gets having birthdays on twice a year in one country? You right it isn't stupid, we are too damn smart.

I think Easter is set though, so is Christmas, you be a smart arse to try something different honestly.

You've missed the whole point of the argument. I couldn't care less when other people celebrate events - what you've implied is that because aussies celebrate Father's Day on a different day to everyone else, that makes us stupid. Unless is just weapons not showing but I take the samurai sword over the regular gun and shield. It is a bit tricky when we are not sure what exactly will each include. Would be great to assume it wont be over 20,000jpy as Gold Frame has way more accessories compared to these two but I am always surprised with what they charge nowadays.

ok I need some help on a Gundam I bought the other day, its the first one Ive had any problems with.
Its a HG Build Fighter Try Burning Gundam, the double ended sockets which hold the shoulders to the torso keep popping off even with limit movement.
There appears to be no way to fix it so I'm not sure if I should take it back to the store or try to figure out a way to make it work, the latter isn't working.
The socket doesn't seem to fit over the ball on the shoulder to hold it in place.
This is my first disappointment with a model, I know the HGs are a cheap model but this just seems like a flaw and oversight in the production.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

hi, it doesn't look like that you have sanded down the nub marks on the ball joint... try to make it a smooth ball , ..also did you used the right pollycap part , it happens to me all the time ,when i dissemble for painting as the polly caps looks all the same but they are slightly different in size...

Thanks for the advise....sanded the ball smooth. hasn't made any difference.
I have pulled it apart twice to check if I had the right part. Its the only double ended socket on the poly tree so I havent managed to mix it up with any other parts, I made sure of that.

This is what I suggest. Take it apart. Take the poly cap out and place it on the ball joint. Rotate it to see why it's popping out. If the poly cap is to shallow sand it deeper OR sand the ball joint smaller.
These things happen to me too. There is something pushing out the ball joint. This is all part of the building experience. No need to be frustrated. Just need to figure out why it's happening and fix it.
If it is to loose use clear nail polish on both the socket and ball joint.

Good to hear it worked out. I've only had one problem so far, it was on duel, the polycap for the ankle at the bottom of the leg inner frame on one was just a tiny bit too thick to go in the hole, i didnt realise until i'd already pushed about 1.5 mm down, hard to explain but a hair dryer and... My teeth (for lack of anything better) to bring it back into shape then filed it down.

Anyway I've had 3 things show up lately, and one more ready for pickup, I'll post a pic of the haul when I get the last one. As for now I'm just looking forward to completing my GAT family from SEED, but not sure I can hold out on one of my 2 '00' kits.

Edit- also wanted to say I'm 23 eps into build fighters try, I dont think it's as good as build fighters at all, but I just keep watching for the fights and designs. Love the burning, star winning and lightning are sweet too, I'm almost (almost) tempted to pick up the 3, and build strike and build mk II and have a small HG set, but then where does it stop... Zaku amazing, kampfer amazing, X moa, megashiki, denial, cathedral, gouf, tryon 3, etc...

All I can say though is two MG kits I had on my wants list were crossbone full cloth (i like pirates and the uniqueness), and amazing red warrior, cue spongebob meme "i dont want it, i dont want it" <watches build fighters try> "I NEED IT!".

In many cases, like you I always think something is wrong but is actually human error. Meaning to say is my fault and I took out the WRONG piece that looked like the piece in the instructions.

My advice is, "if it doesn't fit properly" look at the piece number and look at your instructions properly on how it is fit. Half the time I find it is not figuring out the right part or how it is actually fitted making it awkward.

Then again is a HG model, they may have slacked on QC, but I don't think thats the case though.

Yeah I went on a cruise and watched build fighters, i've said that before, but a week and a half ago I had the wrong sd card in my tablet (was up to ep 22 of try) and away from home so rewatched the last few eps of build fighters. I like 00 suits, different style (except the fat one hah), but wasnt planning on getting exia, just wanted a little more out of it (like metal build avalanche lol) and was thinking of getting the 1/100 non-mg avalanche, but have since added dark matter to an order for some non gundam stuff, the orange swords have grown on me, and it just looks cooler every week.

As for earlier mentioned gkgundamkits website, it all went really smooth in the end, turns out the csv was wrong in their third party cc payment system didnt throw an error to me, just said complete, and then their system cancelled my order (turns out i got my things mixed up in netbank and thought they had charged me, it was something else). I reordered with paypal and it was all smooth, fast delivery from Hk and the best packaged... package that i've recieved all year.

My wife's been having a bit of time off lately so not as much time to build, but rather than show pics of what i've bought I'm going to try and throw a kit together this weekend and post pics of it. As for the other things, I have 2 unicorn kits i'm going to swap the frames on, and i also picked up astray noir, cos I like it and a local seller 'had' the cheapest price of anywhere I could find (and i checked a lot of online stores, amazon, ebay etc).

My plans for the astray are that I might see about putting the ootori equipment from strike rouge on it, and since I'm making a percect strike out of aile strike remastered and launcher/sword strike (a launcher/ sword strike kit is cheaper than the p-bandai set of the extra parts for aile), i'll have a spare strike and might use it to try my hand at painting for the first time, and maybe do my own take on some kind of strike noir. Just depends how strike rouge looks without a backpack, and whether it or the astray look more badass with the ootori equipment.

Edit: also had a 1/100 seed destiny zaku warrior delivered this week. It's non mg, green zaku with option parts to make it like dearka or asuran's. I'll be making asuran's version because dearka's equipment is the same as the red luminaria one that I've also got ordered.

Heres something random, I just put together a HGBF Gundam Portent..it had in the poly caps in this set that I was having problems with the other week. not fitting the ball properly...this one I have had no problem with the ball staying in the socket...it certainly looks like it was a one off in the production of the poly caps for that tree.

Few announcements for future MG releases today. V2 ver ka, hyaku-shiki mass production (ugly head imo, i'm still thinking about getting the 2.0), and the last one is exia amazing...

I like exia, I've almost bought the ignition mode a few tims but kept deciding hey, is it worth the extra for the sword to be chromed? So last week I saw zombster had a normal exia and was almost going to buy it, but didnt. Previously I was tossing up about shelling out (a lot) for a metal build avalanche, and when I tossed that idea i considered the non-mg 1/100 avalanche kit, cos its always cool to have extra like a backpack etc. in the end though i had soem stuff i was going to ship on friday, and added a dark matter to it, it's grown on me but as soon as I saw the news about exia amazing coming december I knew I probably wont be happy with dark matter.

I finished a kit on saturday, want to take photos but the lighting in my house is not so good in the afternoons so I'll try this weekend. It's something different, I might put some time aside to decal it (definitely wont be painting this one), but i've already started my next kit (astray noir).

Yeah I know, but I still think they are not doing the right thing, as the ARM was already in the starting sequence of the intro of Banshee so was the FIX toy or the MG kit. This part should not be an optional.

Are you certain about that? As I have seen this version of the mg kit available in Perth and it was a tamashii exclusive.

I wasn't intending to do any toy shopping, but we ended up meeting a friend in the QVB and taking shelter on the top floor from the rush hour onslaught trying to get to City Hall Station, so I ended up popping into Hobbyco.

I initially wanted to pick up the RG version of the Astray Red Frame, but they didn't have it, so instead I picked up this HG version and a stand which will eventually be used for my Build Burning Gold Version. This Astray isn't a very complex model but I feel the simplicity is an asset. Since the build time was so quick I was able to panel line it in the same session which was pleasing.

i doubt that it very much that they would have any left .... the destiny normal release was sold out on release .... like the exiaOO transam never got a public release at all .... even with spare it be going for around Y30000 shipped anyways from store that can get it .... and what are your chances of getting one from them ... I coudnt even preorder a MB strike freedom and that a normal release ....

I have OO renewal but not Seven sword which is what I want, and I think Bandai will reissue that eventually cross fingers.

I was shocked at Destiny (normal version) as you would think that a piece that has demand means reissue again? But is like they only did it once and very limited numbers.

Strike Freedom however, I believe HLJ and CDjapan will have them in soon.
I just didn't like how it was priced at 28,000 RRP when something as beautiful as the Golden Astray or This destiny sits below the 25,000jpy mark.

I got a friend who claims he have every single one, but I don't think I need to go to that extend. I dropped the idea for Hein's Destiny when it was up at above $400 Aust. I felt that was way too much money for a MB even if is limited.

If it wasn't for the improvement of our dollar vs jpy I think I might have given up. I say Gundam universe would be a good buy if anyone wants one. I take this MB over the strike freedom any day.

But because of this, I think I am dropping Red/Blue frame Astray as it is way too much spending.

I like the red one but I may really have to pass if especially is going to be release like Jan as I am really broke.

The hologram is cool but it is limited to what you can do with it. I really like the dragonball z one, I didn't think the Batman one added much, the burning gundam one is okay as you can do Shining gundam series as well.

They could do a transam mode hologram.

Now for the big question how much for MB red frame or blue?

Ok been some time since I posted, been busy building mixed in with too busy to build... also got a new phone and hadnt bothered to log in yet. I've built a few kits from a few different series and learnt a few things along the way. I didnt build the astray frame D yet, instead I built this:

The clear plastic was hectic, after an hour I stopped until I could line up a better pair of nippers, some of the gates you just hear crack under the even gentle pressure of my old ones. I love the kit, and do i have any regrets considering the price the kit is on ebay now (ie couldve made a nice profit)? Not at all!

Then I built the astray noir and moved on to another event exclusive:

I was going to use the psycho frame from the full armour ver ka (regular release) and then use the red frame from this in the full armor to make it a psuedo p-bandai, but realised i'd only have enough red/pink for one shield. it's a creamy yellow plastic, painted silver then coated with clear yellow, there are many inconsistencies, even on the same runners, with darker parts and even a couple almost silver. I hadnt even put any thought into the fact that it wasn't undergated, and the first armour piece i cut off i kinda just stared at for 2 minutes. But, the plastic is soft, and it was very very easy (though time consuming) to trim the nub off level with the paint.

Overall i love it, besides one side of the head popping off easy (a bit that comes off anyway) but looks a bit lanky, after the photos of it back in unicorn mode, i've just left it that way with the head and shield transformed only. Also some of the bigger parts, like around the chest or leg/foot are a bit flashy, which i left as they are because it would just look waaay worse trimming the paint off, overall that, the nub marks and the inconsistent tones dont detract at all (edit: the photos make the tones look more different than they actually are, they arent 'that' much varied).

These pics show some more photos of the raiser, as well as the brochures and stuff from the art of gundam event (and some poor attempts to show off the led's) some more photos of the gold rx-0, and photos of the other things I've made in the past month: duel, buster, astray noir, the re100 mk III, and perfect strike. The strike has a fairly loose waist ball joint meaning i cant pose it on the display stand it came with due to back heaviness, so I'll get around the thickening that soon.

My next project is the p-bandai red zeta. I opened it on the 10th of oct, and was a bit upset that runner A (and i think a bit of another runner) was damaged/badly molded, but i later realised they were bits that aren't used so I guess QC mustn't care about that, and got building. I got the legs and waist done but haven't had time to touch it since.

Also mentioned my wife digging gunpla, and seems she told my family and for the first time in years they gave me something other than cash, i had kits coming in every other day for a week and a half, my backlog is now... big (plus i already had altron and jesta cannon on preorder). I put them all out and took a photo but lost it during phone changeover.

Well that's super tempting to me, i've been meaning to get the red astray p-bandai mg because i know somewhere that still has it, plus its getting reissued in the future too... however the flight pack makes me seriously consider this. For me i never got into the astray msv manga or whatever, so the sword doesn't do anything for me, but the flight pack, shield and rifle... thats the one i wanted since i first saw them in the anime many years ago. 280ish for both at current rates (rounding to 85¥/$).

I am most unhappy with bandai as I bought a src and have a broken wing tip and they don't give a toss about it. Ny just gave the same response despite having the item in stock and no offer to replace compensate or exchange.

They need to get out of seed and Oo series and start trying others like wing 0 frame or something else.

I hope it stays this way, as releasing news about Astray so early means more time and more expectations that there be more next year. Being Red and Blue are just colours, is a simple repaint and not actually any new model.

My choices if I should choose to buy this would be CDJapan, or HLJ as they are normal releases. I am done with NY as far as non Tamashii web toys.

It bugs me that there are no other options that can compete with NY for Tamashii web item other than AE.

Gundam universe sounds great but overall in terms of price NY and AE still stands as the only cheap source. Permium Bandai are a pain and will not ship to a Japan redirect company.

Tha main thing is i want all the suits from gundam seed (except providence, and i only have aegis, blitz and red astray to go). So that means having flight pack, shield and beam rifle. The sword from the manga is not really of interest to me, as cool as it is, i wouldnt display it with it... maybe it could be a letter opener? :p

It's fine, I completely understand given people's previous comments etc. I just hope i can get lucky, but the oreorder is still open...

If i havent said before, for some series i like 1 of each suit, for others... one for each character... i wasnt really interested in the metail build given the price before, but decided on seeing NY's that I'd bite, and now the more I look at it the more I want it. I was previously going to hunt down Heine's blaze zaku, have shin's destiny extreme burst, ray's legend, lunamaria's zaku. But the sword impulse was just too good to pass up, so now (eccentric right?) i have the destiny extreme burst on ebay, and can have shins sword impulse and heine's destiny!

Buying a metal build will most likely be a once off due to price, i've ordered a third party astray red flight pack for the p-bandai red frame (strange it's been reissued soon but seen hardly any store with preorder), and a 1/100 3p skygrasper.

The only thing that might make me want to build a destiny is to show my nephew how. I got hime one and he built it in a day... an gour in i asked if he'd cut himself yet, he said he didnt need the knife, he was cutting good enough, then he complained later about it not fitting together properly and a few signs of stress. I know we're all new once, but despite seeing my other kits and the time it takes, he blames bandai and says their models are s#!@

I know, he only planned to build legend and destiny, but he has told me now he doesnt want legend. Its not the nippers, i gave him my mineshima ones which i still use a pair, but he isnt trimming at all. Maybe lack of patience or caring, just when i told him it could take like 10 hours he seemed like that was a challenge to beat

Yeah sorry my nephew built the normal mg destiny, o have preordered the netal build in preference to building the mg though, as i have a huge backlog that i worked out to be 22 kits atm + preorders of altron and hesta cannon, and hunting mg red astray the p-bandai release ... call me crazy, but a lot of them were gifts actually.

I've been keeping ny eye out for the normal 1/100 00 ones, dynames is on nov restock at hlj so i backordered to check it out, also backordered kyrios, seravee (i prefer the look/weaponry to virtue, and the little guy vs nadleeh), and exia avalanche if the dynames turns out ok. I'm not so fussed about inner frame/posabilitt if thats the only option in that scale, and they cant be worse than the hg1/100 seed destiny zaku i just built... for example the lower legs, 2 big chunks that you have to snap together, lining up 3-4 pegs and 4-5 polycaps at once. But i'm still happy with it, despite the off colour (too pale) and no marking stickers, so assume dynames should be acceptable?

Yeah that's fair, i know i wish there was mg's, but at the moment i've been building a non ng every 6 kits or so, just to smash something out quick, the ng's take a while so sometimes like the re100 mk iii it feels good to make something up quick. So far have mk iii and a destiny zaku, and have over flag and chaos on the shelf, and waiting on dynames, legend and another destiny zaku (first green one with the missile/jet pack then the second red one with the big cannon).

There's this weapons pack which has one that has some resemblance to OP's rifle but it's a bazooka so the trigger handle is further up the barrel.

Cheers for the updates, just hope no dramas, but it's so far away i'm likely to forget i even ordered it. As for me, here's a pic of the hg 1/100 Zaku from Destiny, and the Red Zeta. I built everything in the instructions for the Zeta without knowing that the big ass red cannon wasn't really used and had nowhere to store unless held in both arms, but there's a tab on it which I've used to very loosely hook it over the top of the shield. I haven't put the darker red stickers on, because I intend to photocopy them for if/when i ever get around to painting it.

and since I've mentioned it a few times, here's a pic of my backlog, with cameo from w.i.p Nu ver ka, and absent is mg Blitz and mg Crossbone Full Cloth. I got the Kampfer yesterday, a local store got like 40 kits in 2 weeks ago, some reasonably priced, some as low as ebay prices, and some significantly higher. When they first got 2 kampfer in they were $90, but when I went again one left at $65 so I grabbed it, still a bit high, but cheaper than anything on ebay, and got 3 campaign cards (clicky for bigger pic)

Yeah dont worry, the ones i bought myself are all from hlj, except kampfer was local, zeta 2.0 was ebay during a sale (about 47$) posted, the orange/red zetas, red seven sword and strike rouge were from NY and my jesta cannon preorder is with them. Was hoping to grab a reissue red astray mg through them but either missed it or it didnt happen, they still have some of the first lot i think, but i'm not paying ~10500 yen. The stuff that was gifts my brother ordered for people from hlj mostly, rezel defenser, amazing red warrior and the gold unicorn were from gkgundamkit. I'm waiting for black friday at hlj, not that there's really anything non p-bandai that i still want.

As for kampfer, yeah the stock colours i'm not a fan of the blue, and would prefer more yellowish than orange for the highlights, like on the big photo insert, so it's gonna be high on the list of 'want to paint' when I start painting. Would love a kampfer 2.0 (pref kampfer amazing).
