This toy sports the colours of Anakin's Eta-2 class Starfighter whereas the Azure Angel sports colours resembling Anakin's childhood Pod Racer. The droid is painted like Artoo-Detoo which is incorrect - the Azure Angel's Astromech droid was Ar-Four Gee-Four The toy is also missing a pair of built-in hyperdrive thrusters which negates the need for the hyperdrive ring that the toy does come with (Anakin modified his Delta-7 so that it can jump into hyperspace without having to use a Hyperspace Ring).

Yeah, I'll pass this one. :/

According to that link you provided that starfighter is something that Anakin uses in between flying the Azure Angel and Azure Angel II - it's meant to appear later on in the current Clone Wars series... that's why I didn't recognise it; it hasn't come out yet! :) Undecided if I want a third version of the Delta-7 TF mould though (I already have Saesee Tiin and Obi-Wan). I'd definitely get an Azure Angel Anakin. Though I might change my mind after seeing this thing in action on the show... time will tell. ;)

I got it for a huge huge bargain at 75 USD. Previously when he listed it, it didnt even reach the reserve, so he then relisted it with a considerably lower reserve to, surprisingly almost no one bid on it. If he didnt put a reserve on it, I would've got it for even lower at 60 maybe?

Its funny, because the costs to get it graded and shipped for grading exceeds 40 USD. The one I have according to the sellers' population report from AFA is the highest graded in the world for the takara version, there are only 2 other such graded figures in the world, they are both AFA'd at 80, my one is a CSG 8.6, which essentially corresponds to an AFA grading of 85.

Also I paid 20 for shipping, when the actual shipping costed 33 via EMS. cant get much better.

I feel absolutely stoked to get it for such a price, though I must say I am rather disappointed with the handywork of the acrylic box. MANY bubbles, and the box flap is slightly off centre. The sticker placement is good and the box is sealed in an UV-resistant box. The tapes to the rollbar have not yellowed and are still firmly attached.

EDIT: I just spoke to the seller about the transaction, he felt that if he had sold this a few months ago when the market was stronger, "he could have easily got between 200-300 USD (which is what I thought it was roughly worth at the time of the bid)", and he was very very disappointed with the final sale price. So there you go. A bargain in every way lol.

Rampage: I recommend using mithril silver paint to cover those ugly Hasbro reissue missiles and gun. It's not chrome, but I reckon it looks a looooot nicer than black. ;) Owners of Universe Prowl might want to consider doing the same thing with that toy's missiles and gun too. :)

Just an adder to Gok's comment on painting up mithril silver to imitate chrome.

Try undercoating the area with a codex grey or similar plain grey paint first, then paint on the mithril silver. I've found that it makes the mithril silver a more solid shade that looks better with the bolder hot colours like orange, red and yellow.

Considering that chrome isn't a kind of paint the answer would be no!

Unlike conventional chrome-plating (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrome_plating) the chrome on toys like Transformers actually a form of vacuum-metallising (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_metalising). The closest you can get is shiny silver paints, but you cannot paint chrome. The shiniest kind of metallic silver model/miniature paint I know of is mithril.

Well I hadn't seen it before in any fiction. I don't collect Lego but if I saw that in toy shelves I would think it was just a "pointless repaint" of the Delta-7. :p Oh well... now I know and knowing is half the battle! :D

Rampage: You might also want to coat the silver with some kind of protective purity seal, especially on missiles (as they will naturally get rubbed/scratched whenever you put them in and out of launchers). Such paints, seals, brushes etc. are easily available at hobby stores, Games Workshops etc. :)

the only way to make chrome and metallics actually look right is in spray form because whats makes them shiny is little pieces of aluminium foil, and when they are brushed on the aluminium foil (metallic) doesnt sit in the paint correctly and therefore doesnt reflect the light the way it should and that is why it may look darker than what it should ;)

I must check Dad's automotive paint tins outside tomorrow when it's light - I could swear that I saw a spray can of chrome paint, with the lid of the can that was chrome in style which indicated what the paint was meant to look like when dry. I don't think it was as expensive as you say, although it's probably not top quality.

Back in the day I think I also remember reading a 'do-it-yourself-chrome' tutorial for model parts, where you give the parts you want to make chrome multiple baths in various tubs of probably harmful chemicals.

I ordered this a while ago before the crash in our AUD $$$ and now its finally arrived.

Here is the surprise packet and for a small review, this powerglide from Jizaitoyz (painted by Pompomnet) is the best of the 3 in the series.

The item is hardy.. its got one of the best articulations. It actually feels like a solid toy. The stance and stand is sturdy and in both vehicle and bot modes, its the closest thing to the animated...

Without further wait, here it is. Also picked up a Nemesis prime, with the conversion, it still worked out cheaper than any other store and locally. The item cost me $20 US including shipping. Now, waiting to order the CC kit for Nem prime.

Nice one KC99! It looks to have a shiny metallic finish to it. They even have a slotted space for a rub symbol! talk about anticipating a fanboys thoughts, wow. All you need is indeed a rubsign from reporlabels and viola!

i_am_trunks - I have the cyclonus... Thats why I did the comparison. Here is my list in order of well built:
1) Powerglide
2) Cyclonus
3) Wheelie

Wheelie has great transformation but he more flimsy than the others as it was their first figure.

Pompomnet does a great paint job on all of these. Its better than the original from Jizaitoyz and also, another note, the weight is quite good on these items. Its not light, its almost the weight of your titanium die cast. (although these are not die-cast)

Jgon.. get it. you wont be dissappointed. Just be careful when you transform them. A breakage is disheartening. I have posted pics before of the alt mode.. I will find it and include the link here soon.

Go and get these toy figures. They are great in the G1 collection.

I think it looks bad. I am also annoyed at the very flimsy plastic, its like a KO.

I bought it with the intention of painting the orange bits (which I am) but the flimsy plastic very much annoyed me as I didn't expect that.

kup: I don't find the plastic on my Universe Galvatron to be terribly poor, but it does seem to suffer the design 'flaw' of Star Wars/Crossovers TFs where there are certain swivel joints which pop off way too easily for no apparent reason. In this case, the swivel joint on the thighs... I've never really understood why they do that. I can't understand designing ball-and-socket joints to pop off... but simple swivel joints that aren't even part of a 'normal' body hinge (e.g.: shoulders, knees, elbows etc)? Yeah, that disappoints me. :/

Those items came into my possession after a venture to a well-stocked establishment by the name of Toy Kingdom situated in the northern regions of our state. Though it was not my intent, I exhausted their entire supply of that which you most fervently desire. It is expressly indicated by the corporation Hasbro that in the third wave of this line dubbed "Universe 2.0". or Classics 2.0 if you will, that there will be two of the figure you so desire.
