It's the long axe. It's amazing how much use they got out of the vintage weapons rack moulds or slight remoulds thereof - Whiplash, Webstor, King Randor, Scare Glow, Stinkor, Buzz Off, Clawful, Man-E-Weapons, Moss Man, the Weapons Pak, possibly mailaway He-Man and possibly more.

Get Hordak Hursty! He also comes with a little imp figure that snaps onto his wrist. I'ts also a better version that the Hurricane Hordak which has that flaking metal paint. Funny how I'm not actively collecting the MOTU Classics version coz Im more interested in the 200x versions. Having a look at my display shelf all of my "classics" purchases are from POP Classics -

Bubble power She- ra and Swift Wind, Bow, Hordak, Shadow Weaver and I have Catra in my POL in BBTS, :p. At least I guess Im consistent heheheh.

I aim to grab Leech and Grizzlor when I find one at the Parra fair where I got this Hordak and SW. :D

It's more suitable than the MOTUC one IMO. The nice detailing of the Griffin works well with the "hyper detailed" (Scott's expression) of 200x.

Well the Classics line looks more Filmation if anything so this detailed Griffin really suits more the 200x versions. :D Plus I dont collect the classics line figures with the exception of the Horde and Rebellion figures.
I officially need more shelf space for my MOTU figures.:p

I have the massive 18inch Trap-Jaw statue, sculpted by the 4 Horsemen, that I think I want to get rid of (he takes up a lot of real estate), but am unsure if there's any demand for him.

It's an absolutely beautiful statue, so it'd be a shame to find out it's worthless.

To be honest, I think I have lost my ability to care about this line. It doesn't help that their paint quality are pretty awful, all these figures are painted over black plastic and 'scratch easy'.

I haven't opened any of them but the paint looks to have that powdery make up look as if it would wipe away if I rub my finger on it. Mekaneck looks decent enough but the paint still has that 'wipe away' surface feel although the figure is rather plain looking in person and seems rather 'half assed'. Paint looks particularly bad on Skeletor due to the smooth surfaces and the Dragon could have been better done sculpt wise.

The Snake men are pretty good, fortunately the paint over black it's not as noticeable thanks to the rough scaly skin but I doubt durability.

Also got ToD Sorceress from NYCC... her colours are so much better than the nauseating parrot colours of the original... I love the all white costume! The Orb stand is fantastic too.

I love 80's merchendising and this smacks of it, the MOTU pop-up board game! I think I remember one kid at my primary school having this, but I would welcome any info anyone might have on it.

I think youll find some at the upcoming Parramatta fair dre, well, except for Shadow weaver - she is kinda pricy and limited release I believe. That was why I bit the bullet when i saw her last last fair. Orko can be quite pricy too, depends on who is selling - the guy on the right side (where you had your table last time) sells pretty much ebay price, but the guys on the stage has it a bit less.

Yeah snakeface looks like the ultimate gorgon, I saw your pics kup and i agree it is one well detailed, awesome staction. Although, have you seen how insane the price for that one goes up to? Hundreds. So with the upcoming figure from matty I'm jusr gonna get that as it looks very nice as well, though I prefer the shield that came with the staction, bigger and rotates.

@g rock: yup I do have Rattlor ... aka "the general" in the 200x series and he does have the neck extension gimmick although he doesn't look as dopey in the 200x series as he does in the original and MOTUC series toywise. He's the red snakeman on the 2nd pic in front. As for the snake with the shell, yup that's him - king hsss standing atop the throne. Head snake himself ( just don't let cobra commander hear you - he has issues:p) and yup also has the snake reveal gimmick, though the snakes stunted. Would've loved it if the hidden snakes were longer and super poseable.
Mossman is actually same mold used for beastman which is why he looks feral. They just retooled it for the character, flocked him and used a different weapon and color.

My Subscription Netossa arrived today, in a pretty beat up box that looked like it had taken some water damage. the figure inside is fine tho and i'm surprised that she got here in a month. The figure itself is very pretty (because she actually looks African as opposed to a She-Ra doll painted brown) but somehow really suffers from not having her vintage sword. but that's coming in the next weaposn pack I believe. so yay for the first month of subbing going well for me. I hope Jitsu and Ram-Man don't have any troubles getting here.

Netossa here is the first figure in the 2013 Club Eternia subscription. As far as first up figures go...she's....Adequate? Much as last year started with the middling Princess of Power three pack of the Star Sisters January brings us another lovely Rebel to grace our shelves. But how does she stack up against past MOTUC Maidens? let's find out!

Sculpt- I would have to say that Netossa is one of the prettiest (if not the prettiest) girls the line has to offer. The Four Horseman have taken their cues from the Filmation cartoon where Netossa was portrayed as an African warrior maiden, and works much better than the design choices used for Frosta to make her stand out. The vintage Netossa doll used a repainted Peekablue body with white and blue highlights. that is replicated here in detail on Netossa's gauntlets and boots which will no doubt see reuse when it's time make Peekablue herself. Netossa's skirt is solid affair that does restrict movement, no high kicks or deep lunges happening here i'm afraid, but like most of the female MOTUC characters all you really want her to do is stand there and look pretty so it's not so bad.

Articulation- Netossa's poseability is pretty much the MOTUC standard using the Female 2.0 buck with the waist swivel AND adds the original lady thighs with the built in thigh swivel. her head is on a ball joint but the hair being quite solid means that's mostly useless aside from a tilt to the left or right. Her arms feature a ball jointed shoulder, upper arm swivel, elbow joint and wrist swivels. Legs feature a ball jointed hip, thigh swivel, knee joint, ankle joint and slight ankle rocker. Netossa's legs are an all new sculpt below the knee and removes the calf swivel that Teela and other have, but that seems to be the norm for the Princess of Power characters going forward.
Netossa won't outod Spider-Man in terms of poseability but she has enough to take on the Horde for a decent display on your shelf.

Accessories- Here is where Netossa falls short. Her accessories are Her shield, (The same Princess of Power shield we've seen three times already, Except in two tone silver, a bone of contention with me for sure)and her Cape.
That's right. Her cape. now the vintage had a feature where the cape could be removed and used as a net, and yes, Netossa's cape is removeable but it is nowhere near as functional as the original. It's made of a solid rubber that feels much sturdier than Leech's net but that sturdiness means it just hangs there doing nothing. Nothing terribly exciting. I feel I'd be more satisfied with Netossa if she had come with her vintage sword, itself a repaint of Bubble Power She-Ra's. YES. that sword is coming with the next weapons pack but still....MOTUC figures are now nearly 40 dollars with shipping from Mattycollector and feels like this go around I haven't gotten my money's worth at all.


Overall- I love She-Ra. As a wee Tallest I found something more thrilling to her adventures than the pat status quo of He-Man. There are many reasons why you should own Netossa- She adds to the rebellion, She's a Stunning figure, She's only female of colour in the entire line, She has a potentially saucy history with fellow rebel Spinnerella and once she gets her sword she'll be perfect.

Five stars out of five? Not quite but close. Four and Half.

*Sadly, the mushroom cap at the end of one of Slush Head's tentacles sheered off in its socket - Friction is all that is holding it in-place in these photos. :(

I had an older cousin who used to have a number of the "New Adventures" figures, Slush Head & Optikk were the 2 I always used to rush to in order to entertain myself for the day-long visits to the Relo's. :p:D

I really dig that Slush Head retains the ability to have water/liquid within his helmet; sure it sorta sucks that as a result he loses all head articulation, but the figure/character just wouldn't be the same without it. :cool:

The vintage packaging had them to hold the figure's chest so it didn't flop forwards and back in the packaging. Since the Classics toys are secured by an inner tray and rubber bands, I assume it's just a nod to the eighties line.

I'm not sure about the dimple, it serves no purpose actually, doesn't hold the figure since their twist tied to the clamshell plastic.

That Skeletor is disgustingly glorious. I have never liked the way the standard body looks with the full armour on it. Bow, Skeletor and the pirate gut all look fat with their chest armour on. I always thought that they should have made a smaller chest if they wanted to go with a new look.

Received Entrapta along with my BBTS haul. Had no Idea who she is really until I read the bio at the back of the packaging, but she is a Horde character. I haven't seen a lot of POP episodes so I'm not sure if this character has made an appearance in the cartoons as well.

Must say i'm pretty impressed too. He looked a bit goofy in pictures online, but I got him anyway since he's the Space Mutant leader. In person though, he's nicely detailed and has a gorgeous deep shade of red, with some metallic fleck to the coating. His silver has a couple of shades to break things up as well. His face also looks really menacing and good, when i was worried I might not like it. Going to fit in great with Galactic Skeletor on the shelf!
