Well I was right. I called into Big W this arvo to see where the X-wing and MF would be for tomorrow's sale and they were being put on the shelves today. I was talking to the lady putting them out and mentioned the sale, she did some fancy things with her handheld scanner, then said that she'd save me the trip back tomorrow and followed me to the register with them where she had them rung up for the sale price!!:D

Now to find the cash for the UCS TIE and that Wall-E

Yeah I noticed at one Big W, they looked to be almost cleaned out of the new Scooby Do sets. I suspected they had these out for the 20% sale. And this was on Sunday I checked, the day after :rolleyes: Well I was lucky to go to my Local Big W and picked up the Mystery Mansion at the sale price of $98. This was the only one I really wanted. I checked out Kmart they have the new sets in a promotional area away from the toy section, The Mystery Mansion was missing though. I have a feeling the Mystery Mansion and Mystery Machine are going to be very popular. Grab them while you can, as the stock they are putting out seems to be scarce when compared to everything else.

Mr Toys Toyworld in Browns Plains had about 5 sets of a retired set, Creator expert Santa's Workshop for $119. Also several Toyworld have some extra stock of the Jurassic World sets.

My mate actually tried to do this and worked out between the sets he owns, and the pieces he'd still need, he needed another $400 in additional pieces, not including the cost of the manual itself......

Manual shmanual. The instructions can be downloaded as a PDF from the Lego website. There's a few hundred dollars saved. Also I'm not going to worry about the plaque sticker. There's another $200 cut from the cost.

I intend to cut a lot of corners with parts. There is actually quite a few good resources on the Internet from people that have done it already, sometimes multiple times. its just going to take ages because you know, 6000 pieces and all...

Very interesting that here are barely any Star Wars sets anywhere, duplo is depleted, the friends and ninjago sections have slim pickings, but the city and Bionicle lines seem to be mostly untouched in the various stores I've visited in the last week or so...

Negative. No idea why lego Australia thinks it's okay that the US and most of Europe get the January releases on the first but we wait until March or later. It's the same at half year. The rest of hone world gets the sets in June/July but we get them in September.

TRU Penrith had a couple of bathe new force awakens battle packs and a light smattering of last years stock on otherwise very depleted shelves. No big sets either, all the tags (none on shelves anymore it seems, a good idea) said out of stock.

Don't even get me started on this issue... at least when Hasbro muck up their distribution it is somewhat of a mistake, whereas LEGO seems to do it intentionally, and repeatedly does so.
It's why I choked on my breakfast as I saw a prominent YT LEGO reviewer from USA (whom I do really enjoy watching) make a video announcing that he would be late reviewing some sets because they were 1 day late to reach the store shelves... with the video name 'No New SW Sets in USA' (or something to that effect).

I only use the LEGO online store when I get free shipping (as their VIP system is okay, better than TRU), as they charge by price (bad #1), the express option is ridiculously priced (bad #2) and it's so so so slow (bad #3). It takes 7-10 days for my BBTS orders to arrive, LEGO always takes double that.

But it's the only way I can get the LEGO IDEAS sets :/

Target had the ninjago hidden island for 75 and a few of the smaller sets wouldn't scan. Had the Star Wars battle packs for $19 but no other new sets... Yet. No new city sets either.

Reality hoping to see some next knights sets soon, they look to haves one very interesting pieces and ideas.

Nexo Knights now showing up in stores. I was walking around Garden City today. Myer, Kmart, and Big W all had displays on ends. The Fortrex was assembled and in a display box, looks big. I spotted the new Friends adventure camp sets at Target, the big tree adventure playground set scanned at $99. Looks like it would be great put on display, and would probably work well with a bunch of children minifigures instead of the dolls.

I didn't grab any prices or set numbers they were not massive sets just medium size ones and I just had a quick look through both Lego Australia and Big W online catalog and they didn't appear to show up. Ok, so why thew hell have these sets I'm after been available since December on Lego's official web store but seem to only now be showing up at retail? According to the 2016 LEGO catalogue (January-May), the Marvel sets were slated for a March retail release in Australia. I believe the LEGO online store ships from overseas, hence availability well before Australian retail release.

Kmart Blacktown and Mt Druitt had the new series 16 minifigures series, both stores had been thoroughly picked clean, no banana man, penguin kid, devil, ice queen etc left. Very annoying as I know they'll be put on ebay/collectors fairs for $15+ very soon.

Both stores also had a small smattering of the June/July lego sets, Blacktown had the batman sets, but not marvel and only some of the new city sets. Mt Druitt had some of each of marvel, dc and city, but not the full waves. Weird.

My local Kmart was decimated and a few sets on clearance (jakku was down $5 to $66) so hopefully it means they have cleared room for the 2017 sets. It'd be earlier than normal but with the lego batman movie out sooner rather than later, who knows what we are in for stock wise.

Krennics shuttle was down to $95 in my local big w and encounter on Jakku to $55. No discounts on anything else and no batman minifigs. Two of my local targets didn't have any batman minifig boxes but a third did, they had been nearly picked clean, somehow got a joker and glam metal batman as well as a pair of catman figs.

Batman lego movie sets all out in Penrith Big W. had them all from the Joker escape to the batcave break in. Had the penguin mobile, joker low rider, batmobile and scuttler, as well as the villain based sets. Only one missing was arkham breakout.

$88 for low rider, $35 for cat woman pursuit and $19 for joker escape. Didn't check the others, too scared for my wallet.

Myer Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore has the Lego Batman minifigs and some champion has gone and marked all the bags with the numbers of which is which. If you are on here i want to personally hug you. I bought 8 and there were only 2 which wasn't marked correct. However win win cause both of my girls get a Batgirl each. Missed out on balerina Batman.
The attendant mentioned it to me when she saw me start feeling the bags. Said that the collector was there for a while going through the feel and mark process.

I wish there were more awesome people like that, who help others -and- leave some for others as well. A local target near me said they had one guy just grab the box and go. Bet he is one of the mugs trying to sell them off for $10-$30 a pop now on eBay and gumtree.

I like the luck of the draw, sure there are some weak minifigs in every series but you can never have enough crowd filling figures!

As a side note, shopforme have the sets up, prices are better than big w by at least 10%. Others easily 20% better. Get in quick!

Eastgardens Kmart/Target/Myer did not seemed to be well replenish, although Myer did have Batman minifigs - I picked up March Harriet, Eraserhead, and Nurse Harley Quinn.

BigW was playing a whole other ballgame - they had 2 setups for Lego, each with 2 isles and 1 backwall full of Lego (10 shelves altogether). All the new Batman sets. They were even selling Friends polybag set 30202 (http://www.friendsbricks.com/images/Smoothie-Cart-30202-polybag.jpg) for $5.95 (haven't seen polybags sold at retail much).

Spotted a new Guardians of the Galaxy Milano vs The Abilisk at Target at Warringah Mall last night. The pictures on the back show 4 minifigures in the tiny cockpit which is pretty cool, and I like the baby Groot, but I don't know if I like the design of the ship. I'll be getting it :) Might be a while before it shows up in physical stores, though. The printed 'face' on the LM's ascent stage looks good. Surprised the designers even incorporated the RCS thrusters.

Saw something today that made me happier than it ever should,.

Woolworths is selling the poly bag sets (friends study?, police buggy, juniors race car and nexo knights robot horse) for $4!

I used to love it when I'd get a poly bag brought home from a BP servo or elsewhere, some of my favourite sets were those tiny race cars,helicopters and boats, plus a mini figure so I think the nostalgia smacked me in the face.

Bought a few friends and nexo knights sets to put in the reward tub for my students and a police buggy for my nephew. Here's hoping this trend is here to stay.

Australia tax in full effect. It should be the same (overpriced) $39 as Yodas star fighter and duel on naboo if memory serves. I wonder why it is also nearly six months late to be released here as opposed to USA and Europe?

Series 17 Minifigures are now $5.99 RRP so perhaps it's an increase in price across the board from LEGO.

That has always been their RPP in Australia and on the Lego shop, but Kmart and Big W always sold cheaper. Same with the minifigures. The Landspeeder was meant to be released at the same time as Duel on Naboo and Yoda's Starfighter for the same price so nothing about this makes sense.

Guess we will just be waiting for it to be reduced like a lot of the Rogue One sets (which I have noticed have been restocked back at full price... go figure?

Yes, Big W has sold the minifigures at $4.75 for a while. Mr Toys up here in Queensland used to sell them at $3.99, below retail prior to the LEGO Batman Movie Series. I think the minifigures increased in RRP to $5.99 starting with the LEGO Batman Movie series.

Seem to remember 75136 Droid Escape being around $44.99 RRP.

My son recently had his birthday and is flush with vouchers and cash. He has decided to be interested in the Lego Speed series after he was given the Audi.

He wants the Mustang definitely and possibly the Porsche that is the same class of race car as his Audi (looks like Le Mans 24 hour type). Googling I also saw a Bugatti like Drift.

K-Mart has the Mustang on the other side of town only and it appears none of the others have the Speed line any more.

Firstly does anyone know where I could get the Mustang and Porsche. Secondly was the Bugatti even released here? I don't remember seeing it anywhere.

Speed and Star Wars sets in my local Kmart... $45 now for the same size sets that were $39... disappointing especially as I was hoping to nab the clone tank but that price put me off, hoping big w will be cheaper.
$49 for the speeder is insane and it won't move as the box is half he size of the $39/$45 sets...

I'll wait till it goes on clearance like all the rogue one sets are. If I hadn't already gotten them at the heavy discount prices last summer I'd be snapping ten up now. Considering buying another tank and walker and flogging off the minifigs to recoup some of the price...

I popped into a shopping centre after work today & noticed that Big W, Target & Kmart all had new Star Wars, Speed Champs, Nexo Knights & Friends sets (Myer's toy section looked like it had been hit by a tornado... ). I wasn't looking at prices but man, how nice is that vintage Ford GT-40 build... :D

It's funny how just last night I spent nearly $100 on a variety of SW Bounty Hunter mini-figs on Bricklink (because I thought that particular set wouldn't show up here for quite a while...) & low & behold what did I find in the stores today... Oh well... :rolleyes:

I wonder if they would put TFA sets on clearance anytime soon since the toys directly relate to the upcoming sequels. The Rogue One sets went on clearance too quickly, but I guess they only planned on making it a short run to begin with. Managed to pick up the U-Wing last month from Myer's multiple-stacking offers (clearance price + online discount), ended up being $69.

The first two Freemaker seemed like a flop, so I'm not surprised that retailers has been too keen on the next two sets. After watching vid reviews for Tracker I & The Arrowhead, I think I will be saving my money and non-existent display space for the big TLJ sets. Real missed opportunity with The Arrowhead - I had hoped it was closer to the Hammerhead Corvette from Rogue One.

Spotted the Ultimate Batmobile 70917 & the Batwing 70916 at a local K-Mart earlier today. I didn't catch the price of the Batwing (as it was still in the big metal cage thing that they use) but the price tag for the Batmobile was a hefty $225!

They also had most of the new Jungle sets on the shelves. Funny enough, the only things I want from those sets are the big cats... Bricklink here I come... Heh!

yes, in melbourne at the shopping centre i work at (knox) the toyworld there have a bunch in the window. I haven't checked their website to see if it is available to order online. I don't know if they do transfers or orders but there are definitely some around in toyworld.

So I rang around heaps of David Jones' stores today chasing the Saturn V. CBD sold out yesterday as did Bondi. Chatswood had 8 in stock that were all bought by one person as soon as the store opened this morning (They opened at 9:30 and I rang just after 10am).

Both Bondi and Chatwood were showing as having 4 and 6 more in stock respectively but neither store could find them. They suspect it is either a system error or the stock hasn't arrived yet. They said to keep checking every day or so.

I tried my local Toyworld, down in Kiama and they had one that they sold over the phone to a guy in Canberra yesterday.

So I gave up in frustration. Wifey rang around for me and found one in stock at a toy shop somewhere in NSW and they are going to post it :)

And she managed all that while juggling the housework, groceries and a toddler that threw a tantrum every chance he got all day! I knew there was a reason I married her! :)

The only options available were click and collect, sadly none of the stores I can get to (which was most of the metro area ones) did not have any stock available.

I do hate that someone went and got all 8, we all know exactly where they are going at overinflated prices.

HobbyCo in the city apparently had 37 in stock with 1 being unallocated. They said this was half the number originally promised to them. They're not taking any more orders until they receive an invoice from Lego. These are due in November. I put my name down for the unallocated one, probably among 1,000 other collectors.

Quite a few Lego items from a range of themes on clearance at Big W. For example, some Star Wars Constraction sets have been reduced to $10. Lego Batman movie figures are now $3.

There are a few bigger ones half price at Big W. The Lego City Airshow with the two fighters, old plane and hanger was half price at $48. Also saw a big Batman one and I think a Superhero Girls one too.
