ah, I was hoping to get mine that soon!
Whiplash & Trap Jaw order placed, finally, SLEEP!
yay Mo-larr arrived, so cool! Still waiting on my Avatar swag from Matty though :(
I've been adding to my MOTU 200X collection on and off for the last year or so: I just bought Ram Man on ebay.
Thanks to Sharky I got 2002 He-Man, Battlecat and Skeletor:

I have to say that Skeletor has a super awesome sculpt. This is tempting me to buy more!
yeah the sculpts and detailing of the 200x MOTU are awesome , shame most of em are locked in battle poses and not as poseable as the newerr ones, I kinda liked these versions for having lean body shapes and not bulky stocky guys who if you didnt see the muscles youd think are just plump :p. Though the first versions ( classic MOTU were that ways anyways heheheeh)
Anyways here's my hauls which Ive put off posting thanks to Sharky as well.
Castlevania, erm Grayskull! Merman (needed it for the weapons hehehe) Meckaneck and Man-at-arms ( he was my only Classics MOTU figure so to get this modern version is kinda nostalgic and heartwarming) :p, Two Bad and Whiplash, Classic Zoa I got ages ago. I havent tried putting in Batteries to test all the gimmicks yet.:p

Cant wait to migrate my 200x MOTU from Phils when I come back for holidays next year and unite that collection here....
as per Orko, yeah Im gonna try my luck in ebay. I prefer the new more toon accurate version rather than the creepy looking 200x version hehehe. Tis one MOTU character I prefer short and plump rather than long and skinny.
I want the exclusive Keldor and if King Grayskull wasn't so expensive, I would get it. The box is all sorts of AWESOME!
I have been looking at pics of MOTU Classics and although the line does have much more articulation, they are still stylized in a similar way as the original toys making several figures seem somewhat cartoony, specially Skeletor.
Despite the 'fixed' articulation of the 2002 line, I much prefer them due to the kick ass and more 'realistic' (for lack of better word) sculpts than several of the MOTUC figures. This particularly goes for Skeletor and several other bad guys.
An evil voice within is nagging me to get more MOTU toys! Maybe it was a bad idea to buy 'only' a couple :p
yeah it is a bad idea, kup. soon it will keep on nagging you, ooh buy me, buyme , buy me! I still yet to find Evil Lyn and Teela, I found them before but geez they're expensive as... between Tf and MOTU I went the Tfs first, but now that Ive completed G1 I may save up for it... well its now between MOTU and DCU:o. Price wise though DCU is winning, them figures are awesome.. well to me prolly coz Im a DC boy.:D
I started only with the same figs that you got - Skeletor and Panthor (Mecha Bite), He-man and Battle Cat (samurai armour), then went on to collect the villains gallery. I always start with the villains anyhow even in TFs - I still have to migrate them along with Trap Jaw ( my fave), Triklops and Beastman here. I didnt manage to get many of em, coz by the time I jumped in the bandwagon for this particular series it was already ending:(, now Im playing catch-up.
Nice pics (and figures) you guys!
The MOTUC Orko is wicked... seriously, I got mine the other day and I'm in love (and this is from a guy who really doesn't like Orko or Prince Adam). The new Orko is a must imo! He looks fantastic!
It's funny, I think that most of the 200X designs have ridiculously over-sized proportions for the most part. Battle Fist's actual hand/fist, or Man-at-arms' shoulder armour for example. I really dislike pre-posed or "fixed articulation" (it's one of my main gripes with Neca's Terminator 2 and Ghostbusters lines), but the designs themselves are great!
That's not to say that I think MOTUC looks realistic. Far from it! I just prefer the comic/original toy designs, and to have super articulated versions is just a dream come true for me.
MOTU toys rock!! You have to buy them all!!! Do it now!!!! :D
A great find last week - found this sleeping bag at an op shop - STOKED.
original dated 1983 - still looks brand new!

yeah i was wondering that myself.
it has 1983 mattel on the tag, maybe thats the date mattel got the license for the merchandise.
Whiplash arrived today - very exciting, since he was one of my first humanoid MOTU toys. (I know I had Zoar and Panthor before Whiplash, but he may have been my first action figure.)
It also has the Slime Pit and Horde Trooper on it, which makes it at least from 1986.

Nice figures Kup! :)
My MOTUC Whiplash arrived today... unreal figure. Probably one of my overall favourites so far!!
Whiplash & Trap-Jaw arrived today, fantastic. I'm quite in love with Whiplash!
King Hiss is so much a Pretender :D:D
He is also static like one :)
He is pretty much the recreation of a rather lame gimmick that should have been left back in the 80s. I only got the figure because I like the King Hiss character.
As I understand it, the MOTUC figure of King Hiss manages the gimmick much better by redesigning it but I am not fond of how close the toy has been stylized to resemble the original.
Browsed this thread from time to time but never commented... that is until I saw that Skeletor in your post kup  Where would one be able to purchase one of these figures and how much?
I got Skeletor from Sharky at the last Parra Fair.
Keldor and King Hiss I got from Ebay. Keldor is the German exclusive that came in a bag which is the same as the boxed TFCon exclusive. He varies between $130-$300 depends on who is selling it.
I got mine cheaper so I jumped at the chance even though it was the German 'bagged' version.
Thanks kup :)
Thanks!
It's also amazing how much a simple head change can make a huge difference to the toy's overall look. The Exclusive with Keldor and Skeletor heads look considerably different, almost like different toys altogether.
The Aussie dollar's doing well so I finally bought 200X Mekaneck on ebay.
My opera singing gorillagram arrived today:

I've wanted a Gygor since I first read about the prototype years ago. It's a shame MOTU Classics changed his allegiance to an "evil fighting gorilla" but I can still imagine him as an "evil-fighting gorilla". He is love.
lol He does look as if he is singing but overall he is pretty large and looks to be nicely painted.
