Does Amazon JP ship toys to Australia?
I know I've been able to order books from them, but not sure about some of the MP figures.
Speaking of Amazon JP, I just placed an order (pre-ordered a bunch of TFs coming out over the next few months, missed out on Legends Arcee by an hour or two thanks to doing housework first :( ) with them for the first time today, and haven't gotten a Payment ID email yet. Is this normal, and does anyone have a rough timeframe on how long it usually takes before you can actually pay for your order?
So I've not read the new IDW comics since Dark Cybertron Finale (chapter 12?). Now I've got what I think is everything up to date at the moment. But I don't want to read anything in the wrong order and spoil it for myself :D
So my question is, is this the order I should be reading it in:
- First Windblade 1 - 4
- Then More than Meets the Eye #28 to #36~ OR
- Robots in Disguise #28 to #36~ (with 35 and 36 being the onyx interface)
- And lasty the Drift Mini Series, which I gather can be read at any stage?
Does MTMTE and RID cross over at any stage or can I read them freely without spoiling anything? I don't want to read the wiki pages of them, as I'm afraid I'll spoil something for myself like last time :D
I just did that. I hadn't read anything since Dark Cybertron until last week. Now I'm all caught up. I read them in step (ie, RID #29 then MTMTE #29. RID #30 then MTMTE #30 and so forth). Windblade is kinda a stand alone that I read first but haven't read Drift yet. They don't cross over much but the references about Megatron will be better understood if you're reading them in step.
That order should be fine. One of the RID issues is a sequel of sorts to the Windblade series so as long as you read that series first you're fine.
The first issue of all three post Dark Cybertron cover some of the same setting up the new status quo events but otherwise nothing crosses over between the two main books.
MTMTE has flashbacks that preceed RID but they are flashbacks so can be read later.
We don't know yet exactly when Drift will fit into continuity. No obvious point yet.
Perfect, thanks guys. I'll read them side by side and see how I go. Hope they're as good, if not better, then what I've already read :D
I've been looking at a lot of Matrix's lately for some reason.:p
All of my Matrices (is that correct???) have small opening on one side of the Matrix housing and a larger opening on the other side. What is that meant to represent?
G1 Spoilers
I can't remember a specific point in G1 where the glowing part of the Matrix shrunk. (But I do remember it being completely empty)
Or perhaps how brightly it is glowing?
That's what I always assumed anyway.
Which version of the Matrix and opening are you referring to exactly?
The original matrix in the movie has a small opening in the back of the matrix. So the large gem side filling most of the opening is the front.
Some of the shots show a near fully enclosed backing, others like there is a little port/window in the back, but nothing shows it to be solid.
The definitive need for a clear through matrix probably came from MP-01 needing to shine his light through it
I always thought of it as a front vs. back thing.
Not a question, but a pre-emptive answer to a potential question...
Seibertron have posted this rumour speculating that there might be a reissue Pretender Starscream coming soon. I find this highly unlikely. First of all, the Japanese text with the image says "Please take a commemorative photo." You'll notice that face on Starscream's Pretender shell is blank, so it looks more like the template for a standee where you can stick your face through and pretend to be Pretender Starscream's shell and have someone else take a photo of it. Secondly, Pretender Starscream was never released in Japan (only the robot on its own), and Takara(TOMY) rarely reissues G1 toys that weren't originally part of its market; rare exceptions include Gears, Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx; but these were characters who appeared in the G1 cartoon, so Japanese fans would already be familiar w/ them. Pretender Starscream has never appeared in the Japanese G1 cartoon or manga series.
If TakTOM were going to reissue a Pretender, I'd love to see them reissue Metalhawk (as it'd be the only way I'd get one :p).
Does anyone know how you put in a complaint on Amazon? I received my Protectobots Emergency Response Unit but the back of the box was damaged :(.
I can only find stuff relating to returns or refunds and I don't want either, the damage is quite noticeable but not enough I want to return it, its just annoying there is a tear right through the blurb on the back. I did leave pretty poor shipping feedback and included a pic of the damage but was wondering if there is a place on the site you can email them about such things without having to fully apply for a refund/return/exchange.
I usually get an email from Amazon after the transaction asking me to leave a rating of my experience but it's been a while since I got anything from Amazon.
That's actually pretty clever, your face with a robot inside. It'd be a neat little momento. And as for a 'reissue' lol Americans, you'd probably have more luck wth a G1 Jetfire.
Trev, as UM pointed out, Amazon will send a 'rate your experience' email which from memory should have extra links, been a while for me too though:)
I got one yesterday, ahead of my Slog order actually arriving and it says:
Quote:
If you have any trouble with the link above, you can rate your shipment's packaging by completing these steps:
Go to http://www.amazon.com/packaging
After logging in, you'll see a list of all of the shipments that need feedback.
Find the shipment on the list and click the "Leave Packaging Feedback" button on the right.
Yeah, that's the one I got and left feedback with, I was hoping there was somewhere else I could contact them more directly and ask for maybe a partial refund but it was very cheap anyway so I'll get over it ;)
There is a contact page, which you can access when logged in, that can open up three options of contact - live chat, email, or a phone-back (probably limited to within America).
The live chat is one I've used several times, and you can have the conversation emailed to you when completed for future record.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...?nodeId=557204
On the left hand side under the heading "Quick Solutions", there is a link called "Contact Us".
Then on the form that comes up, choose the order you want to complain about and you can type some commentary. I've used it before to complain about excessive shipping and they replied promptly (and refunded the shipping costs!).
I buy from amazon all the time, but only when I'm getting things that I know I won't be to worried about the box/packaging. I find it's 50/50, nearly every second order my packaging is ruined in someway. So I just expect it now, as they do nothing to compensate. Well at least not so far, and I've ordered a lot. You should of seen my leader jetfire box, it looked like a pyramid somehow. Should of taken a photo of that one. But jetfire was fine, so no complaints in the end :D
I thought Amazon stopped selling to buyers outside of the U.S. I just tried placing and order just now and got rejected. :o
The last few pages of the Amazon topic detail the issue... and also list items that are okay.
I doubt TakTOM or Hasbro will be thinking about Pretenders (or Double Pretenders) anytime soon. The only chance of seeing modernised Pretenders would probably be with Rik Alvarez and his team which includes Aaron Archer and Simon Furman.
Licensed?
Has the e-Hobby Megatron black version (dark chrome & brown grip) been KOed?
Do you know if they'e planning on using some of those funds to purchase a licence from Hasbro? I was curious because I noticed that one of the people on their team is apparently in charge of intellectual property, which led me to wonder if these toys are legitimately licensed or not. Perhaps that person's job so to ensure that these toys only approximate Hasbro's intellectual property without being blatant knock offs of the characters themselves. :o
P.S.: my comments are not intended to be a criticism of the project or products, just asking out of curiosity. :)
Question about G2 Prime (the G1 repaint with the black trailer). I had it as a kid, and it was bought new from the store, but mine never had the soundbox or the two big missile things for the trailer.
Was this an error, or a variant, or did the Aus release not include these bits?
Does anyone remember where I can find those posts w/ pics of Hasbro's MP Bumblebee's instructions?
Not sure how reliable this source is, but it appears like it's something they will aim for. From the sounds of things, it appears like they will be going ahead whether that acknowledgement from Hasbro occurs or not:
Still, even if they believe the chances of successfully obtaining the licence will be slim, it's a good step forward and may set a precedence - both for other third party producers to attempt to gain licencing, and for Hasbro to consider in an attempt to re-capture a broader market.Quote:
In 2015, Play With This Too will continue to engage with potential licensors to bring official products based on existing brands to market. Later that same year, Play With This Too will begin to offer full service design and manufacturing, as well as intellectual property development for delivery over Transmedia networks.
Angry Archer did state in this interview with Vangelus that Hasbro's design team does not consider or keep track of offerings by third party producers. Whether or not that message is just old corporate-speak because he's got a fiduciary duty to convey will be impossible to verify.
I haven't seen Beast Machines but I plan to when the DVD's get released later this year.
I'm just wondering about the Tankor from BM. I've heard people say he is a troop builder character, so since I have a Hasbro and a Takara version of the new Deluxe mould I can justify having both on show. But what type of troop builder character is he? Is there a set number of Tankor's in the show like G1 Seekers and Cyclonus? Or are there an infinite number like The Sweeps from G1 and TFP's Vehicons?
It's like Scourge and the sweeps. One Tankor, unlimited identical Tankor drones.
