I am currently in my third year of consistently chasing up on TFs - mainly Classicsverse and Beast Wars. Previously I was more ad-hoc.
My third year is double of my second year, and the combined efforts is roughly equal to your maxima ;)

This is getting interesting. :) So I'll invite anyone to answer these questions for the sake of discussion (or therapy :p):
1. How much have you spent on Transformers this year?
2. How many Transformers toys have you acquired this year?
3. What was the cheapest and most expensive single TF toy you purchased this year?
For me...
1. About $800
2. Approx. 150 toys
3. Cheapest = $5 (Cyberverse Legion Class Vehicon MOSC), Dearest = $175 (MISB MP Sunstorm)
1. Lets say 9 k
2. less than 50
3.Expensive = Grand Max (around 1700) and cheapest probably a throttlebot i picked up at the nexus fair for a few bucks
1. About 3k at a guess
2. Around 60
3. Cheapest was $10 for complete g1 UM at a flea market and dearest would be g1 Trypticon for about 170 I think
Well its $6-7k for me,
60-70, bought some doubles
Cheapest was $40 and most expensive was $250 and on average all the rest of my toys i bought were $100-$150
It's lower for me, but:
$360,
16
$0 (free Universe Powerglide from Kazza:D)
This thread has taken an intersting turn :)
I must say some items that have added to the below results may have been sold as the collection has been upgraded.
1. 5-6k
2. about 50
3. $12 - $1000+
Shape getting Grand Max for that!! I seriously envy you.
Yeah it was a pretty good deal. Got GM and brave max in the one auction. Shipping wasnt cheap!.
I can imagine!!!
I don't mind Brave Max, spewing I didn't pick him up years ago when he would commonly go for $200 :( (Korean Version I think) Thats when I thought he was sacrilegious. Oh well, live and learn :)
If I got them together I reckon GM would be in a temp controlled room and BM on display.
1.$7000 approx
2.approx 650 figures(i buy about 10-20 figures a week off a seller in the usa)
3.unknown as i buy so many its hard to tell but the losest was amongst all the G1's i scored at lifeline(many of them $1 like punch/counterpunch)
hehe yeah ive got them both on display, hes too bad ass to leave in the box
When it comes to official toys, probably no more than $200 and a bit over $100 of that is Hasbro's MP Prime.
This is easy for me as it's probably been my driest year on record in terms of acquisitions and spending...
1. How much have you spent on Transformers this year? Not counting my pre-orders for MP Soundwave and Encore Fort Max (which technically would be this year because I've already paid for them but whatever) I would say between $150 and $200.
2. How many Transformers toys have you acquired this year? Approx. 5
3. What was the cheapest and most expensive single TF toy you purchased this year? Cheapest would've been TF:Prime Cyberverse Prime and Megs for $17 apiece; most expensive would've been G1 Sludge (including his box, accessories, and instructions).
If I add MP Soundwave and Encore Fort Max to the above spending total, it would be closer to $800, way down on previous years.
It was an estimated approx. 150 toys for approx. $800 -- so that's an approximate average of $5.33 a toy. Again, all approximations, but I've been mostly buying carded toys this year (including Cyberverse and BotShots). I've also been able to acquire a lot of my acquisitions this years during sales periods because I find that the quality of TF toys is become less and less worth paying full RRP for. Other things that would affect the statistical average would include my haul from Japan, where I scored some bloody awesome bargains. I also scored a couple of toys for free this year, like United Frenzy/Rumble, 2 DotM Deluxes, and the toys that I won from Hasbro's prize pack - so of course these toys count in the number of toys I've acquired for this year, but they don't contribute to how much I've spent since I got them for free.
Yeah, there are a couple of toys that I've already paid for but I haven't counted it because I won't be getting them until 2013, this also includes United Artfire which is already out, but I haven't received mine yet -- I don't think I will until next month anyway. But if by chance I do get it within December I'll adjust my stats. :p
Highs:
- Being a Groomsman at 1AZRAEL1's Wedding. ;):)
- Masterpiece Soundwave's Announcement, Development Progression, Unveiling & Pre-Order Announcement. :D
- Several Grail Acquisitions.
Lows:
- Being diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease. :(
- Seeing Transformers evaporate from local toy stores.
- Transformers Prime: Season 2's swift decent into disappointment. :o
Lowlight: Being a complete twat and introducing myself to a new guy who was at my place to pick a figure up. I offered the tour etc.
Then realised he'd been here before, and worse, I had been introduced to him.
Very embarrassing.
Sorry Cam!!!
*In my defence, the first deal didn't involve me. I was just 'there', as the ex didn't know if it was the right Prime figure or not.
