Its now up in tfi at aud140
I'm probably in the minority that prefers MP Ironballs. Not sold on Ratchet yet
Coleccionables premi---, uh, Premium Collectables are charging $95 for their MP Ironhide pre-order, so if they can do the same for MP Ratchet then I'll happily throw my money at them. :)

Judging from the "live" photos, I suspect that the Red Cross emblems for the shoulders are stickers. As others have mentioned, it's really the only way that TakaraTOMY can legally do it. But making them stickers rather than tampographs means that people can choose to source/make their own Red Cross/Crescent logos and stick it on themselves.
As much as I don't like singling out online retailers, PC actually have them currently at $99.95 a pop.
The use of the Red Cross emblem is something that is taken extremely seriously, and not just as an issue of copyright.

The red cross emblem is not a logo nor a trademark. Rather, as the universal emblem of protection in armed conflict, its use is restricted under international humanitarian law and in turn by Australian law.

...it is one of our most valuable assets. It is an image that stands as a worldwide symbol of goodwill and humanitarianism.

In Australia, the red cross and red crescent emblems are protected by the Geneva Conventions Act 1957. In a domestic situation the emblems must not be used without first obtaining the written permission of the Minister for Defence, and under Commonwealth law, penalties may apply. Red Cross is charged with following up on misuses, found most commonly in medical and commercial spheres, and takes this role very seriously. Misuse, or simple lack of understanding, in peacetime is likely to weaken the effectiveness of the emblems within a war zone.

The emblems must be trusted absolutely to signify neutrality and protection. That is why their unauthorised use is forbidden in international and national law. Imitations of the red cross and red crescent emblems, the words (names) "Red Cross" and "Red Crescent" and similar wording, are also protected by law.

Misuse of the emblem in peacetime diminishes its protective power when it is most needed: in times of war.

The red cross emblem – a red cross on a white ground – is a symbol of protection (protective use) and of membership of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (indicative use). In times of armed conflict it is the visible sign of the protection conferred by the Geneva Conventions on the victims and on those who come to their aid; in peacetime it shows that a person or object is linked to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, of which the International Committee of the Red Cross is the founding body. Hence the emblem is also a symbol of the Movement's seven Fundamental Principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
TakaraTomy probably figured it wasn't worthwhile having to potentially go through all the legal action that would result from putting a Red Cross on Ratchet. The solution they came up with is pretty visually interesting, IMO, and it largely preserves the look of the original character model.

I agree. Having a red cross on my toy ambulance is definitely going to weaken the effectiveness of the Red Cross in war time.
Well it's been used on anime ambulances for kids.
I am not bothered anyway everyone who is fan enough will break the rules so too bad Red Cross.
TakaraTOMY doesn't make these rules, but obviously they need to ensure that their products aren't infringing any laws. The other alternative is to completely avoid using the Red Cross logo and use something completely different, like the cardio-pulse logo as seen on TF1/RotF Ratchet, Animated Ratchet and Prime Ratchet.
I prefer Ironhide and don't really care about the cross on Ratchet. Now if the toy is rubbish I'll complain but that's a little while away before we get them in hand to see how good they are;):)
Really loving the vehicle mode - just seems to pop! :)
You guys must be lucky! Rodimus is not just a QC issue it should be recalled (if they do on toys) :p
From paint defects, very loose joints, to even a creased folded in half bio card you name it I got it (except the same left or right of whatever part it is may it be arm, leg, or accessories thankfully, knocks on wood)
Your luck will run out soon as it is they are pumping out more in a short period. Chances of bad paint jobs are higher.
But hey you could be lucky.
All I am saying is I should not even see a single complaint in the forums, and now that is good QC.
With 3 bad complaints on mp-18b several with prowl and I had slight with wheeljack.
I expect it to be worse if they continue the same standard.
Collect MISB. Ignorance is bliss:p
My Hasbro Roddy is fine. Transformed a few weeks ago with no issue. I have a Takara Roddy waiting to see how it goes, I think there are a few minor problems with it like the wings scalping in the trailer and the backpack not staying connected properly.
But otherwise, my MP experience is a positive one. I expect it will continue to be so.
Hasbro actually fixed some of the issues from TakaraTOMY Rodimus, including thickening the tabs on the gun handles so that they can actually be held properly. The spoiler does clip in better on the back of the robot, although still prone to dropping off (just not as prone as TakTOM's).
So there is rumoured that some ratchet have a Red Cross you need to open to find out. Lol
Anyway I don't keep my toys in boxes. Even now when I have hardly the time to play with them I still make the effort to inspect what I bought.
you're easily surprised;)
My screen was dripping with your sarcasem:eek:
I recall in the late 90's there was a SWAT style First person shooter set in Las Vegas that had intended on using the Red Cross emblem on health packs in-game. they were enforced not to, for all of the reasons listed above.
While you wouldn't think an emblem on a toy or in a war type game would impact the effect of the symbol, in peace or war time, them be the rules.
I actually quite like the look of the cross with the Autobot sigil in front of it like that.
Looking at Ratchet on my Phone over the weekend, there's something about all the white that doesn't appeal as much as the Ironhide. maybe the lighting?
I'll be buying it that's for sure.
the second face, seems to have bulging eyes, where is that from?
I am loving all the accessories that these two guys look to be coming with.
I think that may be due to the angle that we're seeing the second face from... if you look at the pic, we're viewing the eyeholes from under the point of the crest:

So I think most of that bug-eyed look wont be seen once the face is on because the crest will be covering it.
Noticed last night this was already listed at Takara Tomy Mall

Nothing new til I noticed the accessories and contents included. It says includes Marking Seal (sticker sheet). So it may be for the crosses as the sample shown at Bic Camera event has none.
