Love it!
So I gave in an ordered the G2 Superion and Menasor sets that have basically tempted me since I saw the first images. Ordered from PC, so it worked out to be about $260 for both sets, which seems like a bit, but when broken down between 12 figures, it's actually just under $22 per individual transformer - cheaper than almost any of the other CW figures I've got, plus I'm building up a Neo-G2 collection, so why not?
Last night I dreamed that there was a two pack released of the second Beast Hunters Voyager Optimus Prime and the first Alternators Ravage mould, which was also recoloured as Optimus Prime. For some reason they could combine in the dream. Also, the Ravage-Prime abomination came with a new Optimus head as standard, but also had a Ravage head which when attached to the body turned it black so it looked more like Ravage. Both the combination and the head swapping gimmick were really disappointingly loose and I could hardly get them to stay together.
I really hope Hasbro aren't paying too close attention to my dreams or this board. If they are, we might just see this as a Platinum Year of the Monkey release next year!
An even stupider reason: Back in my uni days I worked in the toys section of a department store, and every once in a blue moon we'd get customers returning TF Movie/ROTF transformers and saying that the toy is defunct because they can't transform it.
Unfortunately this only happened on my days off, and I come back to a perfectly good mistransformed robot in a mangled mess. Eventually it disappears off the shelf so I assume it was bought or just had a five finger discount applied to it.
So here's a discounted item I found once at Target. What's wrong with Dirt Boss?

Forklift Mode missing! And by the looks of it the staff found an opened box on the floor and marked it down because of it.

That's an interesting point.
Unless the packaging specifically says that the two images on the back of the package is the one toy in two forms, could it be claimed (intentionally or in ignorance of not knowing what Transformers toys do) that the package should have "both" inside as if they were actually two different toys (not one toy with two forms).
Using Dirtboss as the example, if you didn't know the multi-form gimmick of Transformers toys, you could look on the packaging and assume that the two toy photos on the back means two toys should be in the pack. (some Transformers toys can look like unrelated toys in both modes, especially if it has completely different colours between modes)
After all, non-converting toys generally don't show multiple photos of the contents as it could suggest that all of them is supposed to be inside the box.
For those thinking that Transformers would never have two modes of the same character on the pack AND have two different toys in the packaging... think again. The Titanium Optimus 3-pack had on the back, photos of the robot mode, truck mode and pre-earth mode... and guess what, it had three toys in the pack.
True, that's the exception, but I'm sure there is probably a legal argument that could claim that the packaging is advertising two toys but only includes one, because it doesn't state that it is the one toy, or the "sold separately" disclaimer of other products shown on the packaging.
(moved last few posts to here from the sightings section)
I thought the other discounts were bad, but 'Forklift Mode Missing" takes the cake. I would have bought it for the novelty value.
I supposed if the name of the brand is not self-explanatory enough, then perhaps Hasbro could further simplify the name. As our e-marketing team are always telling us that today's fast-paced media has reduced consumers' attention span to that of fruit flies, Hasbro should also do away with lengthy written bios for characters. Bright colours, a catchy character name, and an arsenal of weapons could be introduced to draw people in - the more Heroic the character is, the more weapons they need to defend against evil. The end result may look something like this.
"Forklift Missing-Mode" sounds like another one of Grimlock's shoddy attempts at pronouncing Fortress Maximus' name. ;)
Well I thought it showed incredible foresight to buy a pack of TF: Animated Band-Aids at lest a year before our first child was born.
Now he has a little cut on his toe and he has gone through four of them because he keeps playing with them. That includes the Megatron one he peeled off because he only wants Optimus or Bumblebee ones. There are only 20 to a pack - my wife says I should have bought a crate :p
Today is Back to the Future day -- everyone give their G1 Swindler a high five! :D
What ever happened to the leader class toys getting released in Australia? Did the Megatron toys sell so poorly that no one else wanted to buy Thundercracker? Or did they see Thundercracker and were put off from buying any further Leader class toys? Is it also because only a few stores (Target, Toys R Us and ToyWorldMate Toys) are selling him?
I'm not too overally concerned since the only Leader class toy I wanted was Ultra Magnus and I already have him, but just curious as to why the Leader class toys haven't had much of a release here while the Deluxes, Voyagers and Legends got a wide release (although it was only a month or two ago that they bothered to sell the Voyagers and Legends)
There's a new bar that's just opened at 637 Chapel Street in South Yarra called Two Wrongs. What does this have to do with Transformers? Well, it mightn't look the place, but sitting in the window are a collection of large Transformers figures. I can pick out what appears to be an Energon Omega Supreme and possibly a RID Optimus Prime firetruck.
Yep, we'll make a potentially off putting statement like that into pure awesome.

My wife managed to find me two TF things for my b'day that I didn't already have: one of those TF4 Optimus wall/nightlight head things and a Predacons Rising Cindersaur/Smokescreen 2-pack. :)
Funny thing is, It's my 38th birthday and Sarah didn't even realise Smokescreen has great big 38's on his doors until I pointed it out. She was super chuffed when I showed her that :D
That's Jarryd Hayne's number. You know, the guy who tried out with the 49ers. The guy who's every play during the preseason was shown over & over. Never mind. You probably already forgotten who he is.
:p
(he'll bounce back)
Given that some TFs are now going through gender benders and being repurposed as fembots, the phrase "has great big 38s" can't be read the same way again. Then again I do get more childish as I age...
The original Smokescreen was always large chested. Ya know, on account of his chest being the entire freakin' front end of a car n' all. :o From a realism POV, having such a large protrusion would be quite impractical, and a liability in battle. The far more streamlined designs used in the live action films (e.g. Jazz) actually makes more sense. The fewer protrusions you have in battle, the better. ;)
I was watching the living room and they made a table which gave me an idea earlier I thought I would share
Cheap glass shelving,
Glass panels (pool fencing I think from bunnings) it was like 1mx1m
I just need an idea on what to use to make it stable, I enjoy little diy projects so I want to give this a go
(Oh and yes it is for transformers)
I noticed last night that the picture of Chromia on the cover of 'Dawn if the Autobots 4' is the exact same one that they used for the comic that came with her Generations toy.
'Hasbro Exclusive Cover' my dipstick!
I don't know what's worse..... Thinking over the amount spent on a trip... Or stressing about the severe lack of space In the suitcase....
So far...
Cw Viper
Cw leader stars cream
Cw ultra Magnus
All 6 kreon battle changers (prime, bb, grimlock, stars cream, shockwave, hound)
YOTM primal
G1 AOE dino bots (the g1 head set)..... That's the one that doesn't even fit in the suitcase!!!
Is Donald Trump right now reminding anyone of Shawn Berger?
Lets see:
*Both are super rich (Berger can donate spacecraft!)
*Both stand on platforms of blaming illegal aliens for their country's problems (Berger the Autobots, Trump the Latinos)
*Both are trying to get elected for the power rush, when you think being mega rich industralists would be enough
If Trump opens a solar energy facility get your heads down and run!:p
Heh - glad to hear your trip is being such a success mate :D
Shawn Berger never mocked Chip Chase's disability.
Speaking of which, it'd be cool if MP Ironhide came with a Chip Chase figurine. And MP Ratchet could come with Buster. No? :o
I just put it together in my head: My dad is a GEE WUNNER. He doesn't like any modern Transformers toys, only G1s, because 'modern ones don't have enough diecast' and thinks all forms of media that aren't G1 suck (even the comics, he only likes Marvels ones.) He is also a 'Trukk not Munky', as he hates Beast Wars with a passion.
:(
Initially I was surprised to see a Combiner Wars Gen1 Leader Megatron at ToysRUs the other day, but closer inspection it looked to be a returned toy... minus missile. (it wasn't in the launcher). Hopefully it is in the bottom of the box for whomever ends up buying it.
