MISB Universe Optimus Primal, and TM-01 Optimus Primal are both Aug (ebay) acquisitions.
(thanks Gok for helping me decide on TM-01 Primal with your youtube review)
Megatron (thanks FFN) was a late July get.
And my lovely wife got me the last Ravage on the first day of the Target toy sale (so yeah, July too).

Encore Cassettes Vol. 1 & 2! Ratbat is the real standout for me as I never played with one as a kid and his transformation is great - very intricate for such a small-fry! Dunno about the gold weapons though, while a nice change they do look a bit tacky. :p

Congrats on the pickup. I had gold weapon Ratbat as a kid, until someone stole it :( - the one I had now has silver weapons which feel "wrong" to me, so I'm keen for this reissue myself (it's in the mail).

Thanks chaps, I'm well chuffed with them. Sorry to hear about your Ratbat, Dirge. I think you'll be more than pleased with this new one though! The chrome is so...shiiiiny *goes into shiny thing trance* I wonder how many kids snapped his ears off by pulling his wings outwards before lifting them up. :p

Got my G1 Encore Cassettes Vol. 2 from Reilly today. I agree with the detail in Ratbat, a very cool tape. Up with Ravage in coolness :)

Today I collected the Encore versions of Rewind, Eject, Ravage and Buzzsaw from Jaydisc, and a Cybertron-by-way-of-Universe Crumplezone from STL. Thanks fellas.

No affiance, just wondering why everybody is out for the encore cassettes? Why not the originals, also why are people buying encore bruticus and not the originals? (Curious to know others personal opinions)

No "affiance" taken. :D It's very simple - because for much less than it would cost to buy a complete G1 junker or toy with sticker wear and scratches, you get the same toys and they're minty fresh.

(Though sometimes suffering from mould degradation.)

Cassettes like Ratbat are hard to find without broken ears, plus the price of one or two full accessories original tapes is about the same as an reissue pack.

Some people want toys in better condition (or cheaper), some feel the nostalgia's not the same if it's a reissue.

(I generally don't care as long it's in decent shape, but I get the nostalgia thing).

yay, found Scalpel and Reverb hidden among oodles of scouts at local Kmart. Only one scalpel in all those scouts and 2 Reverbs (now only one remains).:D good thing the local Kmart i open til midnight.. makes waiting for the train less boring. Also my new Nightbeat has arrived from ebay! replacing my yellowed one. this one finally has both small guns, needs new decals as well as nuthin has been applied... on to reprolabels:)
