TFClub unofficial Devastator Scavenger component first pic

peaugh's recent reviews of TFC target masters and sd prime reminded me to upload some pics onto my computer. A few weeks back I had a chance to see TFC not devy in person in China(and literally one day later they added "not long haul" to the display:(). Not something haven't seen before but, here are some shots.

imo this thing is even more impressive in person. the molded detailing esp. on the head is great. and the sheer size of this thing is awesome. tfc's past products had pretty solid paint jobs and good qc as well so i personally really look forward to getting this, although this would definitely cost a fortune.

the head masters look great in head modes. but the vehicles mode seems to be just a little bit a stretch.

God damn it!

Couldn't they have made the Headmasters new characters instead of yet more Primes. Who the hell wants OP head and targetmasters?

It would have been far better if they had made the head transform into a roller type vehicle like this prototype for Powermaster Prime:

I dunno Kup, It'd be fun to add the "Headmaster" and "Targetmaster" toys tfc makes to create the "Master Master" Optimus Prime I've wanted since I was Eight.

I generally believe once there is a final product (probably later this year) it will sell like hot cakes. Everyone wants a devastator, and especially if the scale is real time with Classics then it will be a must buy. I can see them firstly making the entire toy, and then selling 6 pieces each.

Yeah oddly enough the idea of an Op headmaster is kind of appealing to me, if it can be used on a exsisting Optimus toy like Powermaster Prime or MP Optimus, seems kinda like an upgrade for Hiq, or Action master prime, who in the comic is HiQ anyway, Not sure about a target master though.

$100 a piece is way outta my price range. Hopefully it is only speculation.

I could afford it but would not pay that much because it is frankly too much to ask for an unofficial figure - I doubt many fans would. They should have gone for something a little less ambitious instead.

Agreed.

Personally I am comfortable paying $400 max for the set. Any amount over that will require serious contemplation and will most likely result in the figs not being purchased.

Personally, I think the $100 price per fig was leaked out to test the market and see reactions. And TFC better pay attention because if it is anywhere near that price... I think this project will be devastated.

looks really cool, shame about the price. is that energon style conectors at the bottom off not longhauls feet?

Indeed these figures are coming along quite awesomely, I'd be very surprised though if they charged $100 each for them. :eek:
I don't think anyone would be prepared to fork out that sort of money for a 3rd party product and hence I believe that their production wouldn't have even commenced at all if this was the intent from the beginning. ;)

The $100 each figure is pure speculation and most likely started by over-the-top skiddish Americans, take no notice of this amount until an Official word is handed down. :cool:

Keep in mind that these guys will double in price via scalpers...and I'd probably be willing to pay $100.

probably at least triple i think - if its true that Devastator is to be sold as his individuals - imagine the nightmare of buying a few of the constructicons and then missing out on even 1 or more...

scalpers will be in heaven overcharging people desperate to complete the set.

This. This project is Highly significant in the realm of 3rd party releases- it is such an ambitious project because of all these factors of design, pricing, distribution and scalpers. It will affect whether other gestalts will even be produced by 3rd parties. Even if I don't end up getting it, will still be interesting to see how they distribute the product and what results from that.

Wow, for $100 a figure - $600 the whole set. that's one expensive 3rd party product!! and Hastak wont do anything to get in some cash like this - profits that shouldve been in their pockets since it's their products.... hmmm ah well Hasbro has been out of the loop with their product sales anyway for years. After all it's the reatil stores that are their customers not the end buyers :rolleyes:

TFC have not specified the price, but if thousands of ppl buy it, it will help reduce the manufacturing costs incredibly and save costs going forward.

I expect a 2000-3000 piece run.
They need to make 1500 at least to cover costs before they even factor in wages.

Either way, third party products have been in general great. I look at City Commander/Not-Springer/Bruticus/Superion and I am in awe of them....

Having said that, Hasbro/Takara have delivered some magnificent figures this year... (Jazz/Tracks/Wheeljack/Warpath/Scourge/Blurr/Drift...)

Overall - its been a great year for classics...

Damn yanks!!! Looks to me he/she was subliminally trying to influence the makers into money mongering dudes from the feel of it

I do hope they make more than 1000 coz US customers alone will surely dominate in buying these out leaving us nothing of the original run except fro the overinflated ones they will sell off to ebay and such. (read: Scalpers)

HAstak has indeed delivered very good figures this year, shame they have to spoil it by stopping it coming up with blegh movie toys then hopefully resume it, ah well I guess it gives my wallet a breather.

There is no way it would be $100. Someone puts a price to it and people fly off the handle about it haha. It's unlikely that it will be that price.

Now I am only speculating here so don't fly off the handle :p but I would put an estimate at $60 a figure tops. Any more than that and mot people would not fork out for it.

Maybe we can continue on TFW2005/Siebertron and say the unofficial cost for TFC Not-Devastator is $50 a figure, then thousands of fans will get on the bandwagon and TFC will be forced to go with that price :)

Unsure, never bought any of these before, but I have a feeling this will be so sort after! However all depends on the cost... it looks 2 ft tall!
