But there isn't any consistent pattern of usage to suggest that it's a deliberate choice to represent this character's style of speech. The G1 Dinobots incorrectly switch the use of subject and object pronouns too, but it's done consistently, so it's evident that writers have deliberately done this to create the Dinobot's speaking mannerism. Language errors in the IDW comics appear to just be totally haphazard, which suggests that it's not intentional. I can deal with stylistic language mistakes in stories if it's done consistently to establish that character's idiosyncrasy.
Further linguistic discussion here.
Idiot Startrack courier dropped my package off at the wrong house! Luckily the kind people over there decided to call me to tell me about it!
Oh well, plastic crack hit tomorrow, rather than tonight...
I managed to get my complaint call in before 6pm, so at least have that satisfaction, plus PC is going to raise the issue with StarTrack as well.
Just relax, it's still in transit and hasn't been delivered -- although after reading Omega Metro's tale of woe, i'd be more worried about the rain screwing up the delivery from QLD to NSW... :p
Guh... my PC whoas never end, although this time it's not PC's fault, but the courier's. Was meant to receive MP Ramjet today, but because the consignment arrived at the depot late, they're telling me that I won't get it until tomorrow. There must be some demon out there determined to stop me from ever punctually receiving any orders from PC. I call this demon Tardor*!
*tardus is Latin for "slow."
At last! It appears I was saved at the last hour by Latrina, the smelly angel of relief! :D :p
Dammit. My G1 Apeface has broken.
Seems something has happened to the ratchet joint in his ape arm. I tried unscrewing the two halves to try and fix it, but I really have no clue. It's strange, because when the two halves are separated the joint seems to work properly again. But as soon as I tighten them it becomes a floppy mess.
Anyone have any idea how to fix?
:( No idea. At least you had a good 29 years with it though. I'd retire it as a display piece and get the Titans Return figure. I know the upcoming one is small, but hopefully they'll release a larger figure later. Doesn't look like a reissue is likely but who knows. :o
Cheers dude. I actually reckon I've had about 6 months with him though as it was an eBay purchase. I may try take a better look tomorrow and see what I can do.
Pretty happy he's getting a Titans Return fig though! Looking forward to it :)
Just be aware that it's only a little Titan Master which looks like this. The ape accessory can also transform into a jet, but it's effectively Classicsverse Spasma. I hope that they'll release the "Transtector" later as a Voyager or something. Perhaps the Voyager would only come with 'Spasma' who just transforms into the ape head, and thus you would use the Titan Master Apeface for the robot head. That's what I'd do if I were Hasbro anyway...
Not true... if I were Hasbro, I'd just release the Voyager with a single two-faced Titan Master who can become either head, just like the G1 toy. :p
Pretty cool for such a small figure, captures the Apeface essence. My favourite of the Titan masters so far :)
My 17 month ok just climbed onto the kitchen table and threw my DOTM coffee mug like a shot put onto the tiles where it exploded.:(
Didn't know I could still yell that loud. So pissed - I had a mug from each movie. And I can't find one the exact same on eBay. :(:(
When and where did you get it from?
EDIT - Looks like the Christmas 2010 re-release (noted below) is the version you have, as I can just see in my photo that it is missing the ROTF wording under the TFs logo... which I didn't keep, as I didn't notice it was any different to the version from Easter that I kept.
(what I originally posted before the edit above)
I have one with the same artwork from one of the Easter packs, but it says Revenge of the Fallen under the TFs logo, and has a 2010 copyright date on it. It must have been re-released by the same people (Park Avenue) after that, but I either didn't see it, or didn't get it because it looked the same as my 2010 cup.

It was also re-released later that year for Christmas with a lolly bag instead of an egg...

Unfortunately it is one of the few Park Avenue TFs mugs that I don't have a spare I could give you (after the first few I would only get one for the collection).... otherwise, someone else might have the non-ROTF version if it is one of those licensed Christmas/Easter ones.
I might have that one. If i do I'll pm you and wash it :)
Yep - that's the mug my daughter used as a ceramic missile. I didn't know the origins of it as it was given to me by a coworker. Mine didn't say ROTF on it so I had assumed it was from DOTM - it must just have been a reissue.
I'll keep an eye out online, I've already got friends on my FB Transformatorium page offering to send me their mugs but that means they wouldn't have one and I dont wanna deprive anyone's collection (so thank you Jaxius but hang onto yours mate) :)
You do realise that some of us are TOY collectors.... Mugs are superfluous to the collection and go in the back of the cupboard and never see the light of day (until everyone is sick and a mug is needed for eucalyptus oil hot water combination reasons at bed time)
So just to follow up about my broken Apeface, I actually fixed the ratchet joint!
To keep it brief, there is basically a screw that holds the two crank style pieces together. Somehow it came undone. Anyway, it was a simple fix in the end, as I used a screw driver angled through his cockpit to reach the screw head, and just rotated his arm until it became firm and started clicking again.
Although I'm curious now, does this mean that over rotating ratchet joints is potentially no good for them?
But yeah, I'm so happy!
Hazar! :D
I have no idea. Might be best to ask that here, and I suspect that kup may be best qualified to answer this question. :)
Nice work!,
If you mean by over rotating, moving it a lot, there will be some wear, though only noticeable over decades. In this case I'd suggest that over time the friction of the joint has slowly unwound the screw until it came loose. What you've done is most likely the best solution short of installing a spring washer which probably wouldn't fit in the space available.
Unless I am shown a document that says bumble bee is to be this orange colour, I am not convinced it has anything to do with it. It's an old design toy.
And since red alert had no significant boundaries of how a Lamborghini white should be I think the plus version has basically shows is not a colour license issue.
Of course I can be wrong, but I very much doubt Vw is going to cry over what colour they decided to paint as they did red gold with no issues
I grow out of it anyway. I find it funny how people can go one end of the spectrum saying TT is going for screen accuracy and then when is not is said because of license colour?
Another example is Optimus prime, he has solid yellow on his waist but TT does those translucent pieces but hey nobody cares to say is a license thing or is just bad screen accuracy?
Pretty sure this issue has been ridden so hard it's now barely the dust of an equine skeleton.
With the Lambor mould, the red and yellow editions had to be a set colour due to the licensing conditions to match the colours used by production cars. As Red Alert's colour scheme does not match a standard production car's colour, there's no need to pick a particular shade.
With BB, as the license was issued to Takara by a completely different company, the above info isn't really relevant, but again it seems that VW dictated that if they wanted to use their branding/likeness, they had to do it properly with the correct shade of yellow.
And when bringing up MP10, well, as there's no "official" colour scheme for that vehicle, and there's far less prestige to the brand, it seems quite clear the license was much more open to Takara (if the indeed actually got one.)
I think what I am saying is if it's not from a TT representatives spokesman, I don't think we really know the actual reason or deal within the colour.
Imo we are making them up as they are possible answers but it's not a confirm answer. Mind you it is possibly correct but I do open my speculation if that's is actually the case.
If I'd resisted I could have Victorion today. But nope, sitting in my BBTS pol.
At leAst even with conversion rates and postage the price works out the same. And having her in does lower the postage overall for other figures
