Maybe so, but personally, I don't see this:

It's still a big, steaming pile of fail for me.

Same head, colours, forearms, big shoulders, 'skirt' kibble, vents on highs and biceps, windshield on chest.
There's that shot from AHM 15 where Blurr and Drift are sitting facing eachother where it's shown that they've got basically the same profile. The only bits that aren't Blurr-ish are the legs below the knees, which to be fair are far too chunky.
We clearly have different tolerances for similarity. :)
It's arguably similar from waist up, but the legs are just too chunky. Having such a large foot base isn't condusive to speed as it would generate lots of friction while Blurr runs in robot mode. G1 and Animated Blurr have small feet, and IDW's Blurr looks like he's on tip-toes - all of which makes more sense for a fast runner as it would reduce friction. That's why fast running animals have as small a surface area as possible in contact with the ground (e.g. cheetah's paws, horse's hooves etc.). Also you'll notice that the shoulder panels on IDW Blurr are pointed, which of course reduces air resistance. The shoulder panels on Generations Blurr are flat which would increase drag. Likewise the chunky legs would also increase air friction too.
The head sculpt is a nice tribute to IDW Blurr, but unfortunately the "cartoonish caricature" (for lack of a better word) face clashes badly with it. Blurr's head would look a lot better if the face didn't look like Jay Leno. Not even Animated Blurr's chin is that big, and Animated is reknowned for being full of big-chinned faces!
You guys are pretty spot on. Generations Blurr does not evoke g1 blurr at all- the most similar thing is the colour scheme.
The figure is as said, based on IDW Blurr and I think it does capture the essence of that design, however as one places critical eye on the differences- then all that physics comes into play.
Barring the bulky and non-aerodynamic attributes- I think my main criticism is actually the head sculpt. I think taking on too much of the drift mould was detrimental- if one looks at the IDW blurr- the head spikes are much more streamlined- also the antennae- they are much more horizontal, head spikes are further back from the cheeks and do have some sense of g1 blurr's head if one looks closely than the vertically spiked ones on this figure.
Overall, I bought this to have the character- I don't think the toy is ugly but it does the job as best as it can given the remoulding from Drift- and I'd rather have a classics blurr than not have one.

I ended up finding him and buying him at DJ's! For 26 something! So ... cheaper than Target - lol
Anyhoo, I do like him and yeah - you *can* position his holsters differently to make him look different from Drift -

Anyhoo - I am enjoying this toy at the mo... without his guns - he doesn't need them :)
Yea I was going to suggest that :p
Looks better like that IMO
