You guys are pretty spot on. Generations Blurr does not evoke g1 blurr at all- the most similar thing is the colour scheme.

The figure is as said, based on IDW Blurr and I think it does capture the essence of that design, however as one places critical eye on the differences- then all that physics comes into play.

Barring the bulky and non-aerodynamic attributes- I think my main criticism is actually the head sculpt. I think taking on too much of the drift mould was detrimental- if one looks at the IDW blurr- the head spikes are much more streamlined- also the antennae- they are much more horizontal, head spikes are further back from the cheeks and do have some sense of g1 blurr's head if one looks closely than the vertically spiked ones on this figure.

Overall, I bought this to have the character- I don't think the toy is ugly but it does the job as best as it can given the remoulding from Drift- and I'd rather have a classics blurr than not have one.

IDW Blurr on the left. Generations Blurr on the right:

Am I the only person who finds debating the real-world physics of TFs - especially G1-esque TFs - utterly hilarious?

I ended up finding him and buying him at DJ's! For 26 something! So ... cheaper than Target - lol

Anyhoo, I do like him and yeah - you *can* position his holsters differently to make him look different from Drift -

Anyhoo - I am enjoying this toy at the mo... without his guns - he doesn't need them

Yeah, I agree. Was just repeating what some others had criticized about the bulkiness not fitting in with real-world physics. I don't tend to criticize tfs that deep- I can suspend my disbelief in this fantasy world enough to not mind. But the head sculpt is still my major criticism in terms of portraying the character.

Just got Blurr and i have to say i am not impressed with the paint job. Quality control is out the window especially on the hood.

    Otherwise not a bad toy.

I think we can all agree with the overall poor QC on the paint job. Thankfully it doesn't seem to affect the robot mode too much.

Yep, even mine. And that's why he will stay in robot mode. Looks better as the robot.
