Nope. I got a Commemorative Dirge back in 2003 and it's great. Fortunately the G1 Dirge mould never had any spring-loaded launchers or chrome for Hasbro to stuff up on. :)Quote:

I find these book reissue seekers to be of better quality than Encores.
The same goes for the Skywarp and Thundercrakcker except for the missiels. Missiles aside these reissues appear to be of slightly better quality than the encores.
Is this Engrish or does Takara call him Powergride?
Yeah but the Commemorative reissues came out before Encore. It's not too surprising that there would be some mould degradation with Encore Skywarp and Thundercracker considering that it would be the third time those moulds have been reissued.Quote:

Question:
Is Transformers Animated showing in Japan? Or if Japanese fans are fansubbing torrents/distros what do they think of it? Just curious.
Happens all the time on eBay. It's the seller's loss because they lose out on potential bidders. But sometimes you can find good deals on auctions where the item's mispelt because there's often bugger all competition! :)Quote:

In the Japanese "Transformers First Series Complete" and "The Transformers Binaltech & TF Collection Complete Guide" books it is spelt Powerglide, about as official as it gets, I guess... © 2004 and © 2005 TAKARA respectively.
I did a search for "powergride" and a whole heap of Japanese websites popped up, so I guess it is Engrish :o. I just don't remember seeing it before - Seen plenty of Rijiers (Ligier) tho
Thanks. Interesting given how competitive the fansubbing wars are over some animes . And that's their own native animes rather than USA animations.
Does any1 know where i can get a animated voyager Wheck-gar online?
i only know RK and BBTS , would save me alot of time if sum1 already knew
does anyone know if the walmart exclusives ramjet/skywarp will be released in aus?
Never had a G1 Trypticon before, just wanting to know approximate prices on the accessories that are missing from the picture (I'm not even sure myself what's missing exactly :p)
are these generally difficult finds outside of the bay?
Your missing one connector (grey thing next to the ramp) that does nothing but allow you to *kinda* attach Onslaught or motormaster on base mode as an extra ramp...... or to join multiple Trypti together (it's a dream....)
The silver parts..... the outside 2 go together..... ones a gun and the others it's holder.... so you need the Single radar dish and the other gun and holder.
Also need the silver gun for the Little Car (Full-Tilt). Sits in the hole on top and looks pretty as Trypticons bling.

Ah bless your soul krayt!
Hey where did our price checking thread go? I swear we had one? Is this thread appropriate?

I've seen Hot Rod (Japanese Shot Shot) spelled as Hot Road a few times. What gives?
...from official sources? That would have to be a cock up. "Rod" and "Road" are written quite differently in Japanese so I really don't know how someone could screw that up.
Rod is written as ロッド (roddo) whereas Road is ロード (roodo). "Road" can be interpreted as "Load" due to afore discussed discrepancies between Japanese /ɾ/ and English /r/ and /l/ (e.g.: so "Road Hauler" can also be "Load Hauler"). Furthermore, Japanese phonology doesn't discriminate between "-oad" (/oud/) and "-ord" (/o;d/) so ロード (roodo) can be interpreted as either "road," "load" or "lord." Thus both Overlord and Overload are 'spelt' the same in Japanese (オーバーロード)
...but I can't see how someone could interpret ロッド (roddo) as "road"... but Japanese TF names are often badly Romanised. 10 years ago a lot of online dealers were spelling "Stampy" as "Stumpy."
Thanks. Maybe it all stems from a Robot Kingdom typo.
is there a henkie leo prime?
Is there a reason why G1 Lord Zarak is so disproportionate to the Scorponok body? He's the same size as all the other headmasters isn't he? Yet in robot mode the bulky scorpy looks a bit puny with that head..
Scorponok transforms into a city. Lord Zarak transforms into a roughly human-sized humanoid. Hence the size discrepancy.
More accurately, likely because, as you said, the Headmasters were standardised in size, likely so you could swap heads around freely.
Scorponok also comes with a "helmet" for Zarak to fit inside, adding the extra "bulk" to his head.....
This can come off, so some people see an incomplete Scorpy and go "what the"????
Lol that's exactly what brought me to ask the question! I took off the helmet and... gah!
I was thinking maybe the hasbronians couldn't be bothered making a bigger mold or something? ... I dunno I'm a noob.
They are all suppossed to swap, and in the Japanese Series different heads "grant" different powers. Plus, as it's a part to be lost, the replacement Japanese exlusive heads need to fit all the figures too....
Same reason for the Powermaster engines, and the spare ones that were available for them as well.
Luckily they actually made another headmaster for Fort Max.... could you picture him with Spike and just an extra helmit? *shudders*
*nods* That's also why all the Transtectors (bodies) have tech spec meters which differ depending on which Nebulan you binary bond to it - hence they need to be a universal size. And yeah, as SilverDragon pointed out - continuity wise it also makes sense because they're all meant to be human-sized Nebulans (who are meant to be non-Terran humans (comics), near-humans (cartoon) or human-sized robots (animé)); so the canon also justifies the small size.
Fortress Maximus' Spike is also the same size, hence why he needs to bond to Cerebros to make the head big enough for Maximus' body.
Here's a random one for you,
i've got my eye one a genuine (this time its actually real) G1 Optimus Prime MIB.
the box is in seriously great condition for its age but the only thing that bugs me, well what i think bugs me; is that because its from canada, its got both French and english text.
do you think this should lower is value and hopefully buying price because its not an american box? unfortunately the seller does not state such fact and only found out when he sent me better photos.
not to be racist or anything like that but does international language on items like this bother you?
I know what you mean. I'm asian myself but I feel that the japanese G1's have a cheap feel to them in comparison to the US G1 boxes. Quite the contrary though, I reckon the jap g1's are generally more expensive and rare:p
I suppose it varies with the collector
who created the guy who created unicron?
He created unicron. I think the question was "who created primacon?"
In the worlds before Primacron, primal chaos reigned. Heaven sought order, but the phoenix can fly only when it's feathers are grown. The four worlds formed again and yet again, As endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of Heaven, the moistures of the Earth, and the powers of the Sun and the Moon all worked upon a certain rock - old as creation, and it magically became fertile... Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch. From it then came a stone Primacron... The nature of Primacron was irrepressible!
