I am just glad I got mine from Robot Kingdom. I used to work shifts near TRU Innaloo, but now am 9-5 in Ellenbrook. Not worth the hassle/time to save the $.

got mine yesterday from Chadstone
Again its been mentioned that some of the people trying to pick one up were very abusive to the staff!
As i was walking out, saw one guy greeze the hell out of me!
What does that mean?
People are sometimes fed up with the piss poor customer service and this is why some people become rude.
The girl who answered at Parra told me to call again in 1-2 weeks coz they sold out that morning and wouldn't take down my name, when other people called and reserved and got them in the afternoon. :(
Then in Castle Hill said sold out, then one member was able to reserve the next morning coz there was one left. :(
If other stores are like Penrith, we were told they were getting a delivery every day, and sometimes they wouldn't know where every piece of item is in the big warehouse.
I understand that. It's just that there's no system. Luck of the draw who answers the phone. Some are great, some aren't & don't give a damn.
Some will say they don't have them yet when it's actually sitting in the backroom in pallets just waiting to be opened.
I guess that's why I ask for their names now so that I know who is actually better/easier to talk to.
Well , was going to post last night but didn't get around to it. Had a nice phone call from a girl at Toys R Us Knox City at about 11:15am. She said to me that she had put a MP Sound Wave aside for me (bear in mind I wanted Acid Storm instead) and would put Acid Storm aside when it arrives.... Pausing for a sec I clicked and said oh in a very polite tone thank you very much it means alot :)
Ha! Anyway, went to go pick it up 5:30pm that night and when I was talking to the girl who I originally spoke to on the phone she said Yeah I knew you were after just Acid Storm but I thought I would put Sound Wave aside for you just in case!:)
Now that's SERVICE!
Tell you what, glad thought my parents brought me up with good manners. Believe it or not it does get you places. :)
That's pretty good. Make sure you give good TRU feedback.
I know some of those guys answering the phones are getting pretty pissed at our incessant calls asking if they have stock. But it's the same with us, we are also getting irate with the number of calls we make to ask and reserve.
Some of them do lie straight to your face. Like when Screamer posted that there's stock and he got it. Then when you call, the one who answers says there isn't any in yet and that happened with ILS as well when Sharky got his SW in Campbelltown.
The problem is if you go to the store and try to get one, the other ones who called can reserve them. But at the time you called, the guy/gal on the other end of the line lied. You lost out twice - once on the reservation and twice when you are at the store and everything's reserved. There are times when I want to say "I know you've got stock. My friend just got one a few minutes ago. Please check again." But I know they won't actually check and just say call again.
Highpoint sold out.
Another MP I never got to see on the shelves.
Wow...Just called Toys R us Cannington and they already sold out of Masterpiece Acid Storms?
It's either they took him out late last night and it sold out or the online system is just mental.
Had a chat with the morely guy. He checked his computer and cannington has only sold 2 acidstorms. I think they'll have more!
Also he was shocked that cannington had soundwaves lol. He said that innaloo, morely, and joondalup have 12 soundwaves each in "transit", but he doesn't know if they are still in transit or already sold lol.
Morely expects around 8 acidstorms at their store, just not sure when.
Gonna call later. Probs at 10 or 11
So Perth looks to have had 56 Soundwaves, compared to 20 in Brisbane.
Some of the Melbourne and Sydney stores musta gotten a heap, as these numbers are not getting anywhere near 600.
The average works out to 17 per store... but very few seem to be getting anywhere near that, let alone above it.
TRU Joondalup here in Perth has just got their stock in last night I was told just now over the phone and THEY HAVE 10!
soundwaves and acid storms
Spoke to a guy at TRU Chadstone. He said they got 12 in and were all reserved for online sales and never made it to the shelves. His manager was quite pissed about this, presumably because of the 1 million inquiries they get everyday asking about Soundwave, and then they finally got them in but can't sell them.
I really hope TRU can learn from this round of craziness -- put the Ghost Starscream experience behind their heads and increase the order quantity next time around.
I can just imagine the look on the Head of Departments face when they find out they could have sold a thousand more. But surely TRU Australia would have heard what happened in TRU US and seen the high demand for this figure. I am thinking that after this we will be seeing more and more Masterpiece figures making it to shelves or at least Australian retail.
That's true, but they are all not like that. As for the system, blame the system and blame the company that doesn't want to spend the money to upgrade it to make it better. Sometimes workers just don't care because they are paid bugger all money and cop abuse from customers every day.
Not trying to have a go at you dude, just trying to help you see it from their point of view because I cop the same abuse day in day out from customers. Only reason I stay is because the money I am on :p (just hope I don't get shot at like one of my workmates :()
No probs, Az. It's a way to make a living. That's the life in customer service. :)
Ultra Magnus Maybe......and a big maybe.......anything else... Ghost starscream incident again. As for hearing what happen in US, nah...... doesn't apply here.
What some of these research fail is that Asian countries can get the Takara version as well as the Hasbro thus they can be picky. Unlike America and Australia, we are only known to get Hasbro.
Well ghost starscream is an unpopular variant. I bet if bumblebee came out, he'll sell like hot cakes
which also can plug into him in cassettes mode on the side to connect the two pile driver for extra batteries

the funny part about this for me is i have always been interested in scoping out the nearest toy shops for "what is on the market". I have seen Convoy, Ghost Starscream, Coronation and Rodimus Masterpiece both Takara and Hasbro at various shops and times and i always thought "wow that is really expensive for a Transformer toy". If only i knew..... I would've snapped them up in a second.
I have Red Alert and Optimus and am very keen to get the Datsuns.
And it was fairly easy to find online for $100 shipped. I really like the ghost SS concept and happily purchased 1 or 2 from tru for around $60 when they were on clearance. Even MP-04 was clearanced from target for $100... The customer base just isn't that big here.
Thing is though, MP-04 and Ghostscream were released prior to the '07 Movie weren't they? - I reckon, since, the movies have definitely expanded the market locally since then. ;):)
$100!!! Lucky bugger! :p - I paid for mine via LayBy at $250!, given, I did grab it as soon as they showed up on shelves. :D
Hopefully we get mp ultra magnus. Dunno about the cars due to licence agreements
Bloody oath!, I reckon we can all foresee the s***-storm that'll occur with him though. :p
(Let's hope the lessons of MP-10, Soundwave & Acidstorm have sunken into TRU management by then :o)
I'll probably just go with importing Takara's release however and avoid all the pain. ;)
No way! - It went that friggin' low!
I suppose, though, Target did order a metric f***-tone of them - I remember seeing just a wall of MP-04s, on top of and, stretching the entire length of the capping at Shellharbour's store, was certainly a sight to be beheld. :D
