Both are listed in the TRU systems here also
System lists $129.99 for OP :)
And from the sounds of things, finding one shouldnt be difficult ;)

^ $129? Sounds like I can wait for one and custom paint, only the gold autobot logo on the body will be more of a chellange.
Urm...this is normally the case though, I already foresee it for these two items. I felt it wasn't worth getting these asap as its the same as Metroplex.
A takara tomy reissue like the starscream, or mp-10 is different, as normal stores don't bring them in.
Take it easy.
Sweet. Now I can definitely afford it. The funds are in hand. :) Any indication of time for TRU's release here?
Dammit. I really hope these show up on the website.
I asked at a Tru today but I didn't have the code, so it was random searching. The Optimus we found was 129, described as "TF MV4 Platinum Optimus"... Not sure if that's yoth or not
Some points from this morning
-Optimus is listed as TFM4 Platinum Edition. This seems like an error as no other movie line in their systems (TFM4 Deluxe, Voyager, Masks etc) have Plat. Ed listed after their entries. I'm waiting on further confirmation from H/O
-Priced at $129.99
-Release date currently scheduled for early May
-1000 units
-Starscream has correct entry : CNY Supreme Starscream
-Priced at $189.99
-Release date currently scheduled for late June/early July
-1020 units
Wow  Starscream is $189.99
I think I will stick with my Cybertron version
another TRU again. I thought this should have been allocated to other stores.
oh well....suck in and wait.
I may have to pick up Optimus, the price is just too good...
sweet
BBTS has Starscream for 99
These are the translucent Optimus and starscream aren't they?
These are the translucent Optimus trailer (gold bits on the man himself) and translucent starscream aren't they?
Sorry about the double post above. Found the CNY starscream on the net. Gee he looks chunky/clunky.
Well I'm not getting Starscream at that price.
How much did the Hasbro MP-10 sell for at TRU Australia? $129 seems kinda low to me.
I'm beginning to think that they either got the prices mixed up (it wouldn't be the first time), or they have Starscream at the wrong price (also, not a first for TRU).
Name ------- Optimus Prime --- Starscream
Weight in box- 1.998kg -------- 1.988kg (almost the same)
Weight of toy- 1.144kg -------- 1.252kg (no batteries)
Box volume -- 24,831cm cubed -- 28,880cm cubed (not a huge difference)
Dimensions --- 45.5x29.5x18.5 -- 40x38x19 (similar - one is wider, one is taller)
HK in US$ --- $130 (AU$149)--- $103-110 (AU$118-126)
UK TRU ------ £125 (AU$245) --- £110 (AU$216) (and we think our prices are bad)
TRU US$ ---- $130 (AU$149)--- $110 (AU$126)
BBTS US$ --- $120 (AU$138)--- $100 (AU$115)
AU TRU AU$ - $130 ------------ $190 (it would make more sense if they were swapped over)
Original toy -- AU$150 (2012) -- AU$60-150 (2005)
Toys are similar sizing and weight... so either TRU are just comparing the robots (and forgetting that half of Optimus is the trailer), or got the two mixed up in their computer system.
As much as people wouldn't want to be paying $190 for Optimus, it would fit the excessive profit-margin policy of TRU here when it comes to collector-focused exclusives.
If they keep the prices unchanged, the Starscreams are going to shelfwarm, because they have more stock than Optimus (that makes no sense either), and it will have been out for 4-6 months in Asia and America for almost half as much.
The same thing happened with their MP Ghost Starscream - it was half a year after its JP/HK release, and it was MORE than twice the price ($250 here, $90 to import).
Is their memory that short, that they already forgot about one of their worst pricing decisions for Transformers ever.
(At least Supreme Cheetor was priced according to the RRP in America... so it wasn't TRU Australia's fault for that one failing - the Ghost Starscream and this Starscream is all on TRU, for over-pricing them, or failing to negotiate a realistic price from Hasbro)
i hope the price for optimus doesn't change >.<. I can forgo this rendition of starscream but not op!
Just bit the bullet and bought 2 starscreams from yahobby.

switch it to AUD and he'll be $76.98 AUD. Shipping for 2 turned out to be $52.67. purchasing just one incurs a shipping cost of $33.42. You can change the currency to AU, USD, Pound, and Euro. AU is the best as they still think we're at 0.974 USD exchange rate. This could also be bad in the sense that they haven't bothered to update their site...but heh I paid by paypal and will file a dispute in a months time if this all goes off course.
I did extensive research on them and I couldn't find anything recent. I've read that they have bad communication and there's been reports of bad packaging but also some that had good packaging.
They are still sponsors for seibertron.com so i'm guessing they picked up their game?
Will update when I receive the goods or if it all goes haywire.
They've also got prime but he's $162.07.
i got a shipping notice. looks promising thus far!
Still no change to Prime's description TFMovie 4 Platinum Edition, but i was assured that it is still the YoTH version
Also, delivery looks like it may have.been brought forward -system's now showing a March delivery for the first of two drops
Got my yoth starscreams today!!!
One box was a bit chuffed...no idea why as they double boxed it and the other had it's plastic pushed in a little.

For the price it's well worth it (was around ~100 shipped each) and i'm gonna open one anyway (the chuffed one).
I suspect that the OP listed as TF Movie 4 Platinum Edition may be the First Edition version, which would explain why it is listed as such. Starscream is listed as CNY not TFM4

Thanks to Griffin's photo of the barcode, i can call a store & confirm -all i got from their customer service line was an automated message, which they didn't reply to.
As you noted earlier, the TRU computer listing (which I personally saw last week) has TFM4 - which contradicts the "Masterpiece" part of the listing, but does correlate with the DOTM toys saying MV3 on the shipping boxes.
I was going to go around to different chain stores tomorrow with the First Edition box (or just the pic of the barcode)... so between us we might get more answers than Hasbro was willing to give (which is, that apparently it should be here in March).
if it does turn out to be the first edition Optimus...he's severely overpriced!
Looks like it will be the First Edition OP. Although the barcode isnt in the TrU system, they have the assortment number listed as A6519, which corresponds to the FE version
Wait, so Yoth Optimus might not come here?:(
Maybe not. I wont have time during the day to go & have a chat & look through their systems until Sunday to be certain
If anybody has a YoTH OP, would you be able to supply me with the assortment number please. It's usually a 4 digit number above the barcode and looks like A1234
It took me a sec to find it, but the YOTH Optimus product number was actually on the front of the box - A7286
(I should have looked online, as it might have even shown up on some of the fansite galleries)
Going back to my price listing 13 posts above - based on the AU vs US price for YOTH Starscream, the YOTH Optimus would end up being over the $200 mark. Maybe we wont be getting it after all, because it was too high?
At US0.88c to our Dollar...
First Edition OP - - US$60 (AU$68) in America - - AU$130 here (AU$62 extra, or 91% more)
YOTH Starscream - - US$110 (AU$125) in America - - AU$190 here (AU$65 extra, or 52% more)
YOTH Optimus - - US$130 (AU$148) in America - - would have been at least AU$225 if here (at %50 extra)
The "Australia Tax" margin (the price increase that corporations charge on exclusive imported items) decreases as you get more expensive, jut to make them more appealing to retailers.
In the case of the YOTH pair, they could have sold Optimus here for under $200 and still made money... but they look to have chosen the less popular Starscream figure only because it was cheaper. No one is going to pay $200 for that simple Cybertron toy, no matter how fancy the box looks.
