What form of TF fiction do you most prefer and why?
Cartoons :) (Cos I couldn't be bothered reading something when I can just watch an episode instead :D)
Comics.
Cartoon's second.
I'd love a great novel and I'd love a great movie. But there aren't any yet.
I like Machine Men and Barbie.
Comics/graphic novels only slightly wins over cartoons cause comics are usually more in depth and better story driven than cartoons. otherwise i completely agree with what Pulse said
Loving the IDW stuff the most at the moment. Live action movie would have to be coming second as overall fan favourite fiction.
Comics all the way.
You can blame the G2 stuff for that.
Cartoons are second, with there not yet being a good book or movie (since I count the 86 movie as part of the cartoon) released as yet.
I voted for the cartoon because thats what I know and love. Although I am becoming more and more interested in comics. I guess we can thank IDW's "tion" series for roping me in. But I am also a fan of the movie line as well. What a hard decision it was to make.
Why oh why STL do you ask all the hard hitting questions?
i rather sit back and watch Cartoons......
Make Mine Marvel :)

:)Cartoons, I'm to lazy to read:D.
I had difficulty choosing as I like both Comics/TV show equally.
Eg:
Marvel G1 - AWESOME
BW Cartoon - AWESOME
The G1 cartoon is still pretty good and I still enjoy watching it unlike other 80s cartoon shows which I find difficult to get into as an adult but loved as a kid. However although entertaining many of the stories in Sunbow G1 were very silly and the whole series incoherent. The Japanese G1 series were something else entirely in tone and 'personality'.
When you read the Marvel comics it changes your perception of G1 as most people only identify with the cartoon. The scope of it changes considerably and makes you realize that the cartoon is but a small percentage of what G1 has to offer.
Cartoons.
I like all the pretty clours and flashing lights :D
With me it also depends on what series we're talking about, but on the whole I prefer the comics.
Here's my preferences:
G1 = comics
G2 = comics
Beast Wars = cartoon
Beast Machines = both*
Car Robot/RiD = cartoon**
Armada = comics
Energon = comics
I haven't read the Animated comics yet (waiting for the TPB) so I can't comment on that yet.
___________
*Transformers Universe comics, but they're in the same continuity/canon as Beast Machines.
**The RiD comic was a single-issue one-off thing that Dreamwave printed. But even then I didn't think it was well executed.
Comics just aren't my thing. Cartoons (:
Comics for me, except where Beast Wars is concerned.
In some way I'm the oppsite. If not for a nostalgic familarity with the G1 cartoon characters I'd have difficulty even sitting through more than an ep of G1 these days. While it's one of the better toy cartoons I find there are still more enduring cartoons from my childhood, particualrly the ones that had overarching plots or humour.
i can't help it, it's gotta be uncle hugh all the way
Cartoon. I actually want to see Transformers transform.
Headmaster cartoon FTW
Cartoon... (Rumble is Blue!) :D
Comics second!!
The Headmasters is a lot better than The Rebirth IMHO. But yeah, Masterforce slags all over it. :D
...cue roller's claims that Season 5 is the best G1 cartoon...
As ever, I have an 'it depends' answer. :)
Stuff I have mainly looked at and where I tend to lean canon-wise: cartoons
Stuff that is the coolest when I envision how good it could be: cartoons
Stuff which I think actually does look the most visually interesting and attractive recently: comics, especially the G1 reboots.
You have 2:3 cartoons, so I'd say overall your favourite form of fiction appears to be the cartoon. :)
Pretty much. Visually, I'd love to see an animated cartoon with the graphic design and attention to detail of the fanwankier comics. Unfortunately, the current animation toolsets aren't quite up to producing them at the necessary speed.
