Is dark background good for these shots?
I'm trying to replicate the invisible black backdrop, unfortunately it's not working.

that's a really interesting article, you might want to try putting your backdrop further away so it takes longer for the light from it to return to your camera. It also looks like he uses a seconday light source in nearly all his shots. couild make a big difference.
your last photo with the glowing eyes looks really good btw.
You should add soundwave screaming "falcon punch". Haha that would be awesome.
