Water Damage

Man I feel your pain. I had the washing machine overflow and soak the carpet a number of weeks ago. Carpet soaked so bad, it leaked into my bedroom, under the bed, and in the closet, which some of my empty figure boxes were stacked, including my MP Magnus box. Luckily though, they were not too bad, I just left them on the table to dry inside.

For future reference consider those 80/90 litre plastic bins you can buy from Kmart. I use them for my model car boxes which live in the garage.

That way if something leaks the plastic wont suffer water damage.

As Mr Ed has said,get those big roller boxes, they stack anyways when jnot in use so it saves space. I keep my stuff in em so that no water damage get to em. Also, they're sturdier than a box.

sorry to hear that jay... i believe using a wooden pallet as base would be best.
i did suffer water damage previously when i had mine all in boxes in the garage too but lucky they were all loose and wrapped in ziplock bags.

I am back in Melb and I bought a heap of plastic containers at bunnings for $8.80. To be safe, use the side locks to lock them, then sticky/packing tape around the edges.
Pretty safe that way.

Wow, I have my collection displayed the same way.

Sorry to hear about the damage. You might be able to restore the boxes by ironing them with a sheet between the box and iron, but the laminate might peel and glue unstick. If they're MOSC then I don't think they're fixable.

Wow! Sorry to hear that but on the other hand, I am glad that most of your toys were saved specially the irreplaceable ones!

I always store my figures in those big plastic containers, the one you get from Reject shop. Sometimes I use those big zipper plastic bags which are also pretty ware proof. I recommend to use plastic boxes for all the high end hard to replace toys for anyone who has them in storage.
