I suspect it was possibly a case of lets-see-if-we-can-get-money-from-Target-for-product-placement.

(Am I misremembering, or did I once buy a Transformer from Australian Toys 'R' Us that ironically had a [US] 'Only at Target' sticker on it?)

Yeah, if it was stuck on at the factory and gets sent to a non-US country and to different store chain, the local branch of Hasbro should correct that if they are aware of it (like they did with the Fox Kids logo on Beast Machines toys - the local branch stuck green stickers over it).
Fortunately for TRU, the 'only at Target(logo)' was insignificant enough for them to even notice, otherwise they would have pulled off the stickers when shelving them.

For you guys who dont have a good knowledge of NASCAR, the three wreckers are Chevrolet Impalas.

The #88 Dale Earnhardt Jnr AMP (Roadbuster) and #48 Jimmie Johnson Lowes (Top Spin) are from powerhouse team Hendrick Motorsport.

Jimmie Johnson is 5 time reigning champion (5 in a row)

The #42 Juan Pablo Montoya Target (Leadfoot) is run by Earnhardt Ganassi.

Hendrick Motorsport field 2 other cars in the NASCAR field:

The #24 Jeff Gordon Dupont car and #5 Mark Martin Kelloggs car.

It is definitely product placement that these wreckers were chosen

Firstly GM as other cars race in NASCAR - Ford Fusion, Dodge Charger and Toyota Camry.

AMP is owned by Pepsi Co in USA and Lowes is a massive hardware chain.

I assume Target would have pushed heavily and paid $$ to have this car in the movie.

Everything would have been done to cash in on the Movie.

Chances are that that HA Leadfoot could end up as a store exclusive too, but if Hasbro packages it cleverly, they could get away with it as a general release figure.

I'm pretty sure that the "Deluxe Leadfoot is a store exclusive" thing is just a rumour that came from idle speculation.

As for Hasbro, as I understand from what Goldner has said, Hasbro doesn't have the power of veto with these movies. Bay and co decide, Hasbro can try to adjust things, but ultimately, they do not have any form of final say, which explains things happening in the movies that go against Hasbro's family-friendly image.

Regarding HA Leadfoot, there appears to have been a compromise: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...-leadfoot.html

Hasbro simply evidently removed his hood Target logo, though they've left the logo on the driver's uniform.

Confirmed at BotCon. HA figure is a store exclusive for US Target. So is the deluxe in a two pack with "Twin Twist" according to the label in the slide shown (but it looks like Topspin from a distance).

If a Leadfoot does get released in normal Deluxe but without the Target logo, I can ask the gentleman who makes heaps of custom Diecast models for me to make and produce a set of pre-cut TARGET vinyl decals to allow for transformation.

Not sure about cost. I could ask him if he is interested? Anyone else interested? Obviously the more he makes the cheaper it is!

TRU seems to be the place with them so far. But other stores will eventually get them as they sell out their first wave stock.

Has anyone got the ark? Is it worth buying. Thinking of getting it to display all my autobots on it. Tru selling 59.99. Abit pricey though.
