Default Stompy reviews DotM Legion Crowbar

    DotM Legion Decepticon
    CROWBAR

    Official Bio:
"Crowbar infiltrates and observes Autobot tactical movements with unmatched stealth and intellect. He has been trained in the most brutal Decepticon attack strategies for the unlikely event he is discovered."

    TechSpecs:
    Strength: 8
    Intelligence: 8
    Speed: 10
    Endurance: 6
    Rank: 8
    Courage: 7
    Fireblast: 9
    Skill: 7

    Robot Mode:

This is one impressive looking robot mode. Especially in it's Legion size scale. This is taller than your average legion by about 1-2cm due to it's long legs. In-package, they have folded his legs up to fit in package.

Proportions are similar to the lankiness of Lockdown, except Crowbar have very long arms. Quite similar to Barricade in proportions but better legs. The torso is proportionally slim as his limbs and his feet are quite awesome with the claw-like toes. His legs can be made chicken-walker style or humanoid style.

The sculpt is excellent, especially for his head and neck area. The head is alien like with 4 eyes and a rounded alien like suction style. The nice details along the shoulder portion of the torso is excellent. The ridges on his back and abdomen just adds that extra menace and class to this figure. The paint apps are amazing for this size with clear four red eyes and silver forehead crest. Gold paint along his neck, waist and arms. Essentially the paint apps is as good as the official pictures, unlike deluxes and bigger. 9/10

    ARTICULATION:

...is absolutely mind-blowing on the legs but the arms are limited, but as I said the legs have have articulation as good as deluxe or higher figures. The arms are on a ball joint with a full 360 articulation on the shoulder and can fold down by 90. The waist rotates a full 360 and is part of the conversion, just a nice playability bonus. The leg-to-waist can rotate 360 and bend out by 100. There is a full 360 thigh rotation as well. The knee bend can go an amazing 190 and an ankle bend of about 320. Yes! Sadly there is no head articulation whatsoever. All up you can get an amazing array of poses with the legs. Just a shame there's no elbow bend on the arms and of course the head. 8/10

    CONVERSION:

Nothing out of the ordinary for a Legend class figure but the legs have a nice transformation usually seen on larger figures. 8/10

    ALT MODE: POLICE CAR

The Police Car mode looks great. More muscle car than sporty or saloon. Paint apps on the head and tail lights, blue and red sirens on the side-mirrors, The front grille and parking lights and the Decepticon Insignia on the roof. It's a pity that the windows are not painted, but I guess they are going for a tinted look so it kinda gets away with it. The wheels spin is as far as playability goes. The seams are quite prominent but this is a legends size class figure. Not bad at all. 7/10

    OVERALL:

I love this figure. Enough to make me do a full review, despite it's low profile size class. The robot mode impressed me with its excellent sculpt, paint apps and amazing leg articulation. Alt mode is fine and works as an undercover police car. This is a must have in my opinion and I'm praying for a deluxe class. Tempted to give it a 10, only If it had an elbow bend and head rotation though. Still a solid... 9/10

Sorry about the phone camera pics. I might take better pics, but at least you get the idea. It was 3am. I know, I know. Muses can come at weird times.

where are people finding this toy? I've checked out Target, Kmart, Myer, David Jones and Uncle Petes in the past couple of days and haven't seen him anywhere.

I think I got my at DJs.

BTW did anyone else have to drill Crowbar's peg holes slightly larger? Until I did that I had the hardest time getting him out of vehicle mode.

This is a character that needs a deluxe toy to go with Crankcase. Since it isn't likely to happen, I voted yes on this one.
The arms suck, being so long, but Stompy's pics make this tiny toy look like the best toy ever.
