    Default Self storage sheds

I'm wondering about those self-storage places. There's a few not very long drives away from me. But I don't really know anyone who uses them.

If I recall correctly Zippo has mentioned having one pet in NZ. Anyone in Australia make use of such a facility? Any recommendations for or against?

I just had a nightmare hour trying to find some documents when things that are precariously balanced gave way. I had the same problems yesterday getting a few sale figures out that people are interested in.

I feel somewhat trapped in my small room and just want some breathing space without actually selling or giving away all my things. Even that's nearly impossible since I have no room to sort through things. Storage sheds seem one way I might get it.

    Check out PODS Paulbot,

    http://www.portableondemandstorage.com.au/

I for one have not used any but it seems a good idea to free up some space for you and still keep yourstuff. Since I think you get to pack it yourself, they just keep it for you. IIRC Zippo had a burglary problem with his Storage , as the facility he was renting it doesnt have decent security. Best to check out if ever the facility security coverage, just to be on the safe side.

    Paul..you forgot i used one.
The one on Dandenong Road is great - Kennards Storage.

You can start with a small storage room and later upgrade or if you want space like i did to do stuff with a table, you can go for a bigger room. it's about $220/mth for a reasonably big space..prob 1 1/2 garage space.

Try it and let me know. It's 24/7 access based on your pin code, drive-in and drive-out.

NOTE: There's lift access and you can get to choose the location. These shed are pretty much sheltered from rain and sunshine..but choose properly too.

I saw other storage facilities and they are like Cargo Containers.. some of them are hot in the sun and they are tinier... the one i used above is great. Shucks, i should have left you the lock i brought back which you'll need to buy one for your "storage"

I've looked into it in the past, I ended up renting a garage as it was a lot cheaper for the period of Time that I needed the storage.

Well, yes as you know I have one ..
Costs me $20 a week, and had it for over 5 years now -- it is good to have the stuff stored away so I'm not looking at boxes and boxes of stuff that I have all the time, though I do wish to give it up and store the stuff in my own house as to save $1000 a year .. Been few thoughts about selling the collection to fund the house deposit which would mean I had room for a collection that wasn't there anymore :-)

Yes, in May last year it was broken into and my insurance didn't cover what was stolen and I learnt that the advertised security didn't actually exist, but the demand for units is very high and getting another unit with another company is very hard.

Heh I was just gonna say Icy when I saw he posted already.

Is there any part of the house where you can store them without it being in your room? Maybe get some simple cardboard boxes to pack them in and you can stack them like in a corner of the living room, kitchen or spare room?

I dunno, it's just me I guess, I don't wanna be away from my TFs, LEGO or Plush Toys. Hehe..
