Default WIP: a Megatron of some sort

I picked up a headless KO classics Megatron recently.

Then I picked up a deluxe animated Megatron which was missing his thighs.

    Result:

Rest assured I will be painting this bad boy to make it look a bit more unified. Plus the head is too big to fit into the chest compartment. I'm undecided whether I'll shave the head down or just make it into a parts-former.

The balljoint on the animated head was also too big for the socket on the KO. I dremelled it down too far, so I've used tissue in the socket to make it a tight fit.

man, you seem to have the worst luck when it comes to buying transformers. missing parts here, broken parts there.
you should definitely look into finding a new seller

    hahaha...overzealous with the dremel hey?
no worries, i've lost count the number of times when i've cut too too far with the dremel aswell. i usually use putty to fill in the gaps and then re-dremel it. but i suppose that if you dont have putty, then tissue paper + superglue or superglue + baking powder might work too.

Even though the topic says Megatron, I was starting to think of an evil version of Perceptor could be had there. I think it was to do with the colour scheme.

I actually liked the original colour scheme. Megatron in his jammies.

    Completed version:

Not pictured: the look on my face when after taking this pic I started to transform him and HIS RIGHT LEG SNAPS OFF!!!

I've glued it back on, so at the moment he's an action master. It's a pity because I have dremelled the head down to fit into the chest compartment for gun mode.

I'm hoping I can find some spare leg joints in my box of bits and pieces. If not, those wings are going to be ripped off.

Fixed... although the broken leg is a bit loose. I cut some styrene to fit into his crotch piece then nailed it to the broken hip ratchet/joint. The plastic split a bit so I'm a bit leery of transforming it.
One good thing - while pulling it apart I discovered his wings were just plugged in (the official classics Megatron's wings are held in by a metal pin). He looks much more streamlined without the wings so I'm going to leave them off.

Who knows what continuity it goes in - animated? Classics? I think my nine-year-old son had the right idea when he called it "Transformers Prime" Megatron.
