Quick comparison of TakaraTOMY's MP10 w/ Hasbro's -- just the cab robot so far...

I can see what some people mean about TakTOM's eyes being dull compared to Hasbro's. The darker metallic blues on TakTOM's eyes seem to work better in theory than practice. But overall, TakTOM's darker colours do look much nicer. I like how TakTOM even painted the interior of the gun stowage compartment black! Cosmetic differences aside, both chest doors on my TakTOM MP10 do sit flush, whereas one of the ones on my Hasbro MP10 doesn't, especially in truck mode.

    Nice image Gok.

Hasbro has the yellow paint app on Primes 'collar bone' ... a nice touch. TakTom looks to have a darker plastic grey which looks great with the darker blue.

Well worth getting both if one can afford it.

You know what is weird? When this MP 10 first came out, heaps of people on another forum were upset saying it was a step backward, too small, overpriced, bcankles etc and that they would rather keep their MP1 /MP4 and pay for the third party mp1 downscaled ripoff for generations series.

Fast forward a few years where are they? Almost all of them have an MP10 now.

It's funny how certain sections of our community can be so fickle!

I've had MP10 for a few years now and daaam it's the best G1 Optimus prime we have and will probably get ever. Our community is growing older and I doubt takara/hasbro will ever revisit Optimus prime in his G1 form again at least in a ready to play, transformable form. I'm not really sold on those highly poseable non-transformable statues.

I still think that MP-1 is definitely the superior MP toy; comparatively MP10 just doesn't compare. Having said that, MP10 is the better "package" in terms of coming with the trailer and Roller; so considering that they packed in more stuff with MP10, it's perfectly acceptable that the main cab robot wouldn't be anywhere near the level of MP-1. I can perfectly understand why people who already own MP1 might find MP10 to be redundant, as I felt the same way when MP10 was first released and skipped that toy. I since acquired Hasbro's MP10 after it came out here for nearly half the price of TakTOM's.

I have to say I most definitely prefer the aesthetics of MP10, I really don't like MP01 at all to be honest. MP10 is the ultimate Optimus Prime to me, thus I now own both the Hasbro and Takara versions (which my better half thinks is crazy!).

Although I was initially reluctant to get MP10 since I already have MP1, I caved. I bought the Hasbro version because I liked the lighter eyes and the fact that the running lights are painted.

Personally, I think MP1 is the better robot, but MP10 is the better Transformer. In my opinion, MP1 is better proportioned, and of course has the gimmicks; but MP10 does a far better job of hiding robot parts in vehicle mode, and the cab of the truck is a lot smoother. I don't really get the impression MP10 'suffers' in robot mode next to MP1, save for size (the smaller size means fewer gimmicks, but I don't mind that).

The one aspect of MP10 I don't like is the rifle - I feel it was compromised in both looks and (more importantly) size for the sake of the stowage gimmick. MP1's rifle looked better and was a good size compared to the robot.

Yeah I agree with what u guys said about mp1 as a better toy. I've got both MP1 and MP10.

I bought MP1 two to three years before MP10 came out. It was my first ever masterpiece and it was what got me hooked. But to be honest, when I first opened the box up, I was a little disappointed with the aesthetics because I thought it looked better in photos. But after playing around with it, I began to like it more.

MP10 is different. I wasn't 100% sold on the aesthetics based on the online pictures, but opening up the box, I blew me away completely.

I've since contemplated selling MP1 a number of times, but I've decided to keep it simply because I was thinking of doing a Optimus prime collection. Need to hunt down a THS and a G1 and a few others.

Mp-10 feels like "this is Optimus prime"
MP-1 feels like "I am the only Optiums Prime"

    I have Mp-1. Mp-4 Mp-10 Hasbro and Mp-10 Takara.

I am disappointed that Takara has not pulled their socks up to do a version 2 repaint. The eyes of mp-10 Takara should have matched what is on MP-1, This one thing alone would have made me like the Takara version.

I don't know why Roller is silver, thats is a bad mistake.

Forced to buy this sucker because of the autobot cars. Mp-10 is a action figure to me and in truck mode it looks awkward at the leg area.

The riffle feels too small and I think they done a stupid thing of folding the gun while it can be kept in the trailer.

Poor hands, have to upgrade to KFC ones to make it look more like a masterpiece.

    MP-10 scores a 7/10 for me.

The price differences is astronomical, While a YOTH Optimus went as low as $115 from Myers, The reissue Hasbro was at $210 on averaged same with Takara.

I left TT MP-10 in MISB while I played with the Hasbro as it felt better looking imo over TT version.

It shits me to say that they put more effort painting Eva MP-10 over the original prime.

I voted YES only because if you are collecting mp line this piece will match up with mp cars. I know of people who refuse to buy a mp-10 and will not budge.

    Will I welcome a version3? Hell yes.

Looking at Goki's pics the Hasbro version feel's like he came alive. Thats just me, I just feel the TT version looked a bit way too dull compared to what they done on MP-1
