That's because Transformers Prime is still relatively new. The series hasn't even been shown on Australian TV yet, let alone come out on DVD! And the toys only came out on Aussie shelves earlier this month. Even the overseas "First Edition" wave that we missed came out only last December/January.

No surprise. Keep in mind that these toys came out last year and they've been pegwarming for aaages since. Kmart have slashed the price of their Deluxe Class Transformers in half (RRP = $30) in an effort to clear dead stock. What came out with these assortments were:

    + Scourge
    + Kup
    + Thundercracker
    + Wheeljack
    + Warpath
    ...all very nice toys.

Yup, I noticed season 1 Transformers Prime got released March 2nd (US).Stores on Ebay are selling them for buttons here in AUS! so looks like I will get it from there

I will consider getting the TF:Prime figure collection in the coming weeks, because well correct me if Im wrong but now would be the time to get them as they are JUST coming threw? To add to this Target is selling the Prime figures for $22 each and Prime/Megatron $47.50.

Yeah but unfortunately Australia has completely skipped Transformers Prime First Edition (FE), which IMHO was better made than Transformers Prime Robots In Disguise (TFPRiDE) - the TF Prime figures that are out here now. Have a look at the reviews section; there are dedicated threads reviewing each Transformer Prime toy. Check out what people have said about these toys and where there are comparisons between the FE and TFPRiDE figures -- then you can decide for yourself if you want to get a FE figure from overseas or if you're happy to get the local TFPRiDE toys. Wheeljack and Soundwave are the only TFPRiDE Transformer characters that are "new" and don't have FE counterparts; but the other TFPRiDEs do. But yeah, if you're gonna get TFPRiDE, get 'em on sale for sure.

Yeah it is not out here on DVD yet. I find online to be the best resource for buying TF products. Robot Kingdom is quite good but weigh up freight costs before buying especially from the US.

I also agree with Gok. Get the Generations G1 style figures while you can or you will want to buy them in 6-12 months time & pay through the nose (lesson lived & learned by yours truly). You may even find Dirge if you are lucky!

Quite clearly you've all missed the real question here.

I don't have anything more to add to what's already been said.

there are still a few good generations toys on shelves at Kmart if you're quick. pick up G1 reissues for your nostalgia kick, and if you dig them, maybe then consider spending more money on non re-issue G1 stuff.

the TF Prime toys are very promising.
Animated had a very unique style but the toys were very well engineered.
The movie toys had their highs and lows but there are still a few around.

the TF Prime DVD isn't released here yet, but hopefully soon.
Comic trade paperbacks are definitely the most efficient way of picking up back issues.

keep asking questions, it looks like we're all here to answer.

and while $450 feels like a lot, if you're buying two of everything, you're going to need a lot more than that.
