I agree with Dirge - there's no way that is going to be retooled into anything decently-resembling Sunstreaker in robot mode, although they might stick a supercharger engine and a new head on it, recolour it yellow and call it Sunstreaker anyway. Although I'd prefer it if they just did a straight yellow recolour and call it Tigertrack or Spin-Out. They generally recolour Masterpieces into the ground, so G2 Sideswipe (fingers crossed for a bandolier accessory) would be awesome. Red Alert is inevitable. Deep Cover and Clampdown would be sound choices. Breakdown is likely. Laster and Deadwheeler would be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Finally my interest in the MP line has been re-ignited after the dissappointments from my point of view of the last few announcements.

Possibly similar to the Classics mold in that there are some bits that could be swapped in and out for a Sunstreaker release?

A yellow redeco would cheapen the character of Sunstreaker, and the concept of Masterpiece, as Sunstreaker's transformation would need his feet to be the front of the car, not on the chest like Sideswipe... as well as other car parts that end up in different places to Sideswipe.
Red Alert they might do, but might be just a limited edition (Ehobby) redeco though, as the character isn't significant enough story-wise to be its own Masterpiece number.

Red Alert is much more significant than Sunstorm, and a far better option for a redeco than two black Convoys and a black Rodimus, so he's already a better option than half of the existing Masterpiece redecos. Is the actual numbering that important?

Ah looks sweet! Really cool announcement; especially since I wasn't expecting anything for awhile with Sunstorm on the way.

Hoping to see this mould only go as far as a Red Alert... and maybe a Breakdown for loopy (but that would probably leave a lot of Menasor related questions open for fanboy speculation)

G1 Sideswipe was my first ever Transformer so this is more than likely bought. While happy with this news, I would have lost my shit if they announced a MP Prowl

Fingers crossed it gets a local release at a sensible price point.
