    "Nobody" actress. Poor Judith Hoag.

I had to look it up, and apparently she wasn't in the second movie because she wanted a better script and more money.

The thing I found remarkable though, Judith was only 22 when they shot the first movie, five years younger than Megan Fox now playing the same role. Was it unflattering wardrobe or is my memory off because I recall April in the first movie as looking older than 22!

I haven't seen the first movie in a very long time, although I still quote it from time to time. I only have it on VHS. Need to track down a DVD copy.

I just bought the 4-pack from this US source for just $21 (plus $5 shipping), or if you prefer Blu-ray, the original 3 movies for $17.
(I bought a few different movies and CDs a couple months back, and they even combined shipping... as if it wasn't cheap enough already)

That actress Judith Hoag certainly plays a lot of one-off guest roles, without ever landing a big part in a series or movie. It's funny that her wiki page notes TMNT as being her most known role... and you said she turned down a part in the sequels. I guess it wouldn't have mattered, as the 2nd and 3rd movies were fairly cringe-worthy, even by this partial fan.
And yes, she does look a lot older than 22 to me too.

As a kid back then, and even now... all I paid attention to was the turtles, splinter and the bad guys, so never noticed or cared who played April. She wasn't an important character. The demographic being targeted in those 3 movies were pre-teen, so didn't need to show sexy or cleavage* to have her be anything more than the "human element" for the audience to learn about the Turtles (like the role of Sam in the 2007 TFs movie).
(*unlike the cleavage and curves the cartoon series April was drawn with... now THAT was something to notice. )

Depending on if you are a fan of Fox, this is either going to ruin some teenage fantasies, or improve them.

I showed the trailer to a friend who was a huge Turtle fan in the 80s and actually likes Michael Bay..

She hated the trailer and raved on on how terrible the Turtles look as they are now all tall and bulky like body builders. Megan Fox as April was also a big negative.

For me, Megan Fox is probably the biggest negative but I am not having any expectations on plot which would be my other big issue due to 'Michael Bay' legacy.

I find, despite it being at least 15 years since I last watched, I remember the first movie very well and quite fondly. I wouldn't mind a copy of the first and maybe the second, but the third and TMNT not so much. I think I've only seen the third once (when I saw it at the cinema). But I do worry that it won't hold up to my memory of it.. although the Jim Henson Turtles in the first film are still well done.

As a kid I paid attention to April in the first movie, she seemed interesting to me, more so than the jumpsuit reporter version. In the second movie though she seemed more generic and forgettable, and maybe that's to do with the actress. You're right though that she's like Sam in the TF movie, but her story is important to the first movie plot, more so than Casey's involvement. Sure she's get to be someone for exposition to happen to, but her investigation into the Foot is a plot driver, and she mirrors the Turtles story in the loss of a father and home. (Same way that Danny's story too does, but I found him very annoying as a kid.)

If you guys have 10 min to spare, my buddy and I have a vlog and we spoke a little bit about the recently released trailer. Feel free to give us your thoughts.

I'm hopeful it'll be decent, as I mentioned in the vlog, the movies in the last few years have been pretty enjoyable so it'll have a certain standard to be compared to

My guess is if you're asking people on this forum which they prefer the majority are going to select the first picture because it's what most of us grew up with (if going by Trev's 'Average age of your Transformers Fan/Ozformers Member'). I would too. But I'm open to change and interpretation. We went through the same thing when images of TF1 were released and Optimus Prime had a mouth. We're all used to it by now. It's a generational thing.
