Bugger about your exclusives experience. Apart from that was there enough good displays and cool stuff to make it worth it or is this a kind of 'never again' show?

They should enforce a limit of 1 or 2 exclusive toys per customer to prevent scalping. I got a black Convoy from JafCon 9 back in 2000... but I guess the scalpers may not have been as bad back then. <shrug> Scalpers suck. (the fact he immediately jacked the price up to 20,000JPY proves it... that son-of-an-unwed-couple!! )

Also... people shouldn't buy from scalpers too. The best way to combat scalpers is to drive them out of business (they wouldn't be doing this despicable act if they didn't have customers).

    5,000yen each (about AU$65), meaning a 300% increase within 20 minutes.

It's a shame when people only buy things as a short-term investment (scalping) with no interest in the item themselves, when there are real fans missing out on paying the original price.

There was supposed to be a limit of 2 set per person. The guy with 4 was probably part of a team of profiteers holding someone elses. The million dollar question is always how do you stop 10 people grabbing as many as a convention allows and then pool it for profit?

There was meant to be a limit, but the people selling the exclusives either didn't remember, or they didn't have a way to prevent people from coming back for more.
(or the number they produced was only a few hundred, and should have been a one-per-person limit)

Yeah, show was great. I think i'd be singing its praises otherwise

Each exclusive was 5,000 yen, with as was said, a limit of 2 for each figure.
The clear convoys werent really moving much.
(still a nice figure and I am glad I got one)

The show is worth checking out if your into everything. A little wasted if you only like.TFs.
Took heaps of lego pics! They were awesome!!

I went in 2009 and ROTF figures were new In japan. transformers wise it was a bit dull, but the atmosphere and the whole set up was pretty cool! I would go again, just walking through some of the themed areas was fun, like the Power rnager section. i don't mind power rangers, but don't love them, but the way that part was set up, it was so much fun! Much like Bandai and their gundam area.

However, I have noticed Tokyo toy fair toys always sell really fast. And scalpers certainly suck.
