Unless it's a role like his Date Night one.

ETA: The Transformers fandom in general is hugely negative, and that's something that I wish would change but probably never will. And there's so many different places with different (but equally irritating, often unwarranted) types of negativity (but I'm not going to say specific places. If we didn't get such cool toys I don't think I'd have the energy to be a part of this fandom.

I agree... that's what I did after seeing ROTF and DOTM... I didn't trash it until after I saw it. But, unfortunately, Bay doesn't have a good track record (and I'm counting ALL his films, not just Transformers films), so I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to say they're not looking forward to it, or not expecting much.

Sadly, they're the ones missing out! Lol, If anyone thinks this forum is unfriendly, try going to one of the international forums!

Ozformers is, and has always been, exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

It's not just Transformers... every fandom is negative. Try going on a MOTU site, for example, and watch the venom flow. Seriously, passion for collecting has different effects on different people.

I don't really think we are really all that negative, I enjoy all points of view. I have a love/hate view of the last 2 movies. The first movie was a great starting point. I do think negativity can spiral out of control though, because others start to build on what others have said.

Honestly though whatever is produced in movies or toys and such, the producers have a hard time really, because they need to make it work to make money. As far as fans go, in pleasing us they may throw afew things our way, but they may as well as be damned if they do/damned if they don't because not all of us will like it or thought maybe should of gone with something else. We are the world's worst critics

Regarding the plot for this new transformers 4, its right its to early to judge.

If the news had been about Michael Bay being off the project or the casting of only Transformers and no humans or that it was being set off Earth I would have been super-positive. Unfortunately, the news was the opposite.

Wait until after we have the movie, to criticise... for the sake of your fellow fans who don't want to see constant negativity here.
I didn't say that Bay was going to make something trashy or criticizing, I was merely trying to keep as neutral as possible and emphasize on the fact that Bay is formulaic regardless if the outcome is well received or not. If you enjoyed the previous movies, expect to enjoy the next one because it is almost certain that it will be very similar. The same goes for the opposite

Yeah, I have my bias against Bay movies but that was not brought up here, in fact you are the one who just illustrated his movies with a negative spin by bringing up the possibility of it turning out "trashy".

What makes you think that post of mine was directed at you?

It was responding to the trend of negative posts/comments by others in this topic, which prompted a couple of people to be disappointed by it.

That's my job... attending to these sorts of issues (hopefully) before they spiral out of control.

I had a feeling since your post came right after mine and there wasn't much negativity in the thread to justify the strong response

Nah... it's difficult to do an admin request or (pre-emptive) reminder of the rules without it looking like it is directed at the previous poster.
I'd quote the person if I was aiming at someone in particular.

I actually don't mind Mark Wahlberg. I've got a new found respect for him after Ted!

Haven't seen Ted yet but it's definitely on my 'to watch' list mostly because I am a fan of Seth MacFarlane.
