Sorry to take it away from the more interesting discussion that this topic has had so far but, some new Movie news....

Two Movie posters have been revealed, showing off the two main Human characters (no robots yet in either of them) - Marky Mark and some Irish guy who has a very limited acting resume.

I can understand Mark being highlighted as the replacement of Shia, and because he probably got the biggest pay-packet for this movie (and thus, the biggest investment... so we'll probably see more of him than the Robots combined).

The tagline on both posters is, "The Rules Have Changed"... and if they are focusing more on the humans in the publicity, it certainly has.

Yes, coming soon, Transformers Mark Wahlberg - Age of Extinction.

On a more interesting note, according to Michael Bay, the (full?) Trailer will be released to the internet sometime tomorrow - March 5th at 01.30 UTC (which is March 5th 12.30pm in Sydney/Melbourne, or 11.30am for those of you lucky enough to be in Brisbane )

If you get to see it first in about 21 hours time, start up a review topic in this news section, for everyone's comments and critiques of the Trailer (if it is the full 2 & a bit minutes that has been rumoured).

Interested in seeing the trailer. Hopefully provides a bit more excitement to me than the teaser.

Note to bay if he's reading; bring the size of the effing huge dinobots down a tad! They are WAAAAAAYYY too oversized. It's ridiculous, even for you

I wonder how many people will confuse the Irish guy (Jack Reynor) with Starcraft's Jim Raynor.

It mentions in passing in the below link, that shows the new trailer, that this will be Bay's last TF movie before handing the franchise off to a different director.

He's been saying that since he started on TF4, also he said DOTM would be his last.

I'm pretty sure that was the plan after TF2 as well, which is why he had to be "bribed" by Hasbro with royalties from every toy produced for the third movie just to get him to come back for the third one.
Something in the order of a couple percent of each Movie toy, which I read somewhere, earned him more than the royalties from the actual movie. (can't recall off-hand where that was though)

Two more movie posters have been released... and we finally get a robot on one of them.

The main girl in the movie, and, it's Optimus looking very human (how the heck are the designers supposed to turn that into a truck... without a backpack of flat panels).

Too much power to keep Bay coming back, is making it more difficult to translate his visions into toys.

On a more creative note, this movie's internet marketing campaign is actually hidden in today's Trailer. The phone number to report Transformers on, on a billboard near the start of the trailer, apparently has a recorded message to direct you to a website for you to register for updates.
The site is transformersaredangerous.com and it allows you to register your email address (with date of birth and zip-code - it requires 5 digits, so add a zero in front of your post code, or just type in something random). It is likely to have clips, or "secret" footage or info, like the Sector 7 site did for the first movie.

Just sourcing the commission Bay makes on the Movie toys. (I knew I heard it from somewhere)

His deal with Hasbro is second only to that of George Lucas, who gets an estimated 15% royalty on all Star Wars figures. Bay gets an estimated 8% on Transformer toys tied to movies.
The entire article is an interesting read. Explaining how he earns so much now, due to being paid small up-front fees in his early movies, making other people rich off his work... so now he negotiates a post-revenue payment, to make a percentage of all profits of all items sold off his "product" including DVDs and toys.
It has made him one of the highest paid people in Hollywood in recent years, with about US$125 million in 2009 - breaking down to 75 from Movie profit, 28 from DVD sales commission, and 12.5 just from the TF2 toys commission.

And that was for the second movie, which he wanted to do... one can only imagine what deal he got for the third and fourth one, to get him coming back.

His earnings for TF3 was said to be about US$160 million, on top of the 125 for TF2, and 82 million last year... I don't know what he is spending his money on, but with the money he is making each year recently, he was apparently only worth US$200 million after TF3.

    TF1 earned him 75...
    TF2 earned him 125...
    TF3 earned him 160...
TF4.... wow, he could be making over 200 million this year.
