Default Deluxe Vehicons - collect them all?

The review threads for the First Edition and Robots in Disguise versions of Vehicon, and the Jet Vehicon are all rather light on for comments.

I know people are army building, but I find it hard to justify buying the same toy in multiples (no matter how good it may be).

I've got the Robots in Disguise one because I was impressed with the look of it from the first time I saw it. I've got the First Edition one coming because I've been happy with all the First Edition.

Now I can't decide if I need the Jet Vehicon too. Is it different enough from RID car version? First Edition and RID toys are completely different, but two doesn't make an army.

I kind of like the idea of having three so they look like an army but are all different so it's not the same toy in multiples. (Unlike say buying multiple Wreck-Gar and Scourge to stand in as Junkions and Sweeps)

I got all three of them. They look stunning and worth buying. The only downside is that I do not like stickers.

Jet Vehicon is a major retool of TFPRiD Car Vehicon. The robot components are basically the same, but all the vehicle parts are different. I think the retooling and alt mode is different enough to justify getting Jet Vehicon even if you already have Car Vehicon.

As for FE and Car Vehicon... both have their pros and cons. Visually FE Vehicon is the most impressive - bulkier and better paint apps/decos. FE has superior head and waist articulation, and the arms are better designed. But I don't quite like the feet on FE - they're prone to flipping in really easily, and the vehicle kibble on the back is somewhat more cumbersome. But Car Vehicon is generally more solid in robot mode and there is a certain degree of elegance in the simplicity of its design. The main thing that bugs me about Car Vehicon is the lack of waist articulation, and I wish the head had a freer range of movement too (naturally Jet Vehicon shares these limitations too).

    Here are some photos...

Same here. I'd much rather buy new kinds of Vehicons over new kinds of Bumblebee!

Mate... I can't stand the stickers! I also really don't like the Arms Microns either (and they require tiny stickers! Extra frustration!) (>o<)

I like Jet Vehicon more than the RiD version since the retool gives Jet a bulkier look. Also, the forearms are more solid on Jet than Rid (which are basically panels). Those spiky pieces on Jet really make him stand out and stickers aren't too bad on this toy. Jet Vehicon only has one extra step in his transformation which relates to the wings.

Yes I will collect them and army build as much as I can hehehe. Already have 4 waiting for me back in Phils, my friend got for me when they went on sale there. Hopefully when Im there the things are still on sale so I can pick up some more, along with more Jet types. If I find a cheap FE I might consider - he will end up as first lieutenant of the Car Vehicons but other than that instance Ill skip him. Id prolly grab about 8 at mode of the Car and 5 of the Jets

I'm grabbing one of each type, FE, RID car and AM Jet at the moment, I've also managed to grab an AM car in a multi purchase of eBay. I'm considering getting a japan colour FE one also as they are apparently different. I was never previously into army building apart from one of each of the seekers, but the way the vehicons are presented in the show and the fact that there are different molds makes it very easy to justify getting as many variants as I can. (I'm not addicted, I can stop any time I want)

I am yet to actually open any of them so I have no real opinion, I do love the idea of army building different molds though. This is also why I am surprised and disappointed we never got three versions of the dreads from DOTM as deluxes.

    Great pictorial review, btw Goki.

I think that if you have the FE and the normal one, then for sure get the Jet vehicon.

Personally I like the jet vehicon vehicle mode a lot and think that even though it is a minor retool, it's pretty cool to have them all.
