I've been buying stuff of Amazon (USA and Japan) lately -- all for things that aren't available here and the total price incl. shipping matches AU RRP.

I thought some item from Amazon US don't ship things to AU. has this been changed or applies to certain products?

I couldn't order Gundam decals from Amazon a year ago or so.

Some items will ship others wont. I last year I bought some Hasbro Star Wars figures from Amazon. I could only order about half the ones I wanted, the others wouldn't ship to Australia. It made no sense that I could have figure A but not figure B when they came out of the case.

So you can order from them but they might still tell you no you can't have that item.

Those might be from some independent sellers on Amazon rather than Amazon themselves. I rarely shop online anyway... really prefer just to buy from local stores.

I ended up canceling my Springer/Blitzwing order at BBTS and going with Amazon. Sandstorm has been on shelves for a long time and they haven't gotten him yet. Now the IDW wave is showing up at US retailers and BBTS hasn't got them yet.

EDIT: Well just found Sandstorm on Amazon, cheaper to buy from them than to have it added to my POL at BBTS. Another canceled order BBTS.
The triple changers arrived last night at their store. Kinda annoyed that my POL was/is the size of a friggin shipping container yet I still got slugged $24 postage to add this order on.

I remember something similar when i purchased a Legion Class figure, not as much though. I think it was an extra $12, but i can't recall the exact amount. It'd be nice if they would offer discounted shipping considering how much i've spent there.

it's still only $8 each for shipping from the states for a voyager sized figure, that's not bad at all when compared to shipping them individually, or even if you'd just bought those 3 and had them shipped as a group.

Well I got charged another $48 for shipping to add Metroplex to my POL on 1/8. I pressed the 'ship my order' button, finally happy to get this POL going since I've been building it for 4 months. Then several days later, early this morning I got the following email:

    Hello,

Thanks so much for ordering from BigBadToyStore! We truly appreciate your patronage and we wanted to let you know there may be a shipping delay on your order. The delay is due to an all-time record amount of new product arriving at the same time last week (Metroplex, Star Wars Black, Marvel Legends, DC Direct, TF Generations, TMNT, Play Arts & much, much more). We apologize for the delay and we are working feverishly to get as many orders out the door as possible each day. We have pulled people from other departments to work in the warehouse, added new employees, and will be working overtime until we are current on orders. Your patience is greatly appreciated, and we are very sorry for the delay.

    Sincerely,
    Joel Boblit

Pretty annoyed this is happening, even if it is kinda understandable. But my last shipment took ages to get here and went awry because I had an Alternators Skids in it and they had shipped it to the wrong person so had to change my order. They since got him back and I put him in this POL - maybe he's a bad-luck bot or something.

^ That must be why my POL got stuck in "the warehouse" and didn't ship for a couple of days. Wish they told me. Hope the other people and new people know what to put in each box.

I have seen in the past HLJ items the are "Order Stop" status reopen for orders close to release. Does that happen all the time or only occasionally?

I'm trying to decide if I should keep hitting up HLJ in hopes of getting a cheap MP-17 and 18 from them or just give up and go with RK.
